LEGO’s The Skywalker Saga comming 2020

LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga

Have you been looking for a new Star Wars game (like the rest of us)? Then I may have something great for you: LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga. Yeah, I know, another LEGO game, but before you click away, hear me out. This one is surprisingly interesting. While I fully expected it to be just another LEGO game… this one looks anything but phoned in. Check out the official announcement trailer here: It’s not a remake or a remaster. It’s not a Star Wars skinned version of another game. Nope. It’s an entirely new, unique game! Imagine that! Seriously, the world of Star Wars games has been looking a bit grim but this is very promising news indeed. What’s it about? Well, it’s a culmination of the entire Skywalker Saga, which means all three Star Wars trilogies (and that’s pretty exciting on its own), and the gameplay has been…

Giant LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer

If you’ve read our site for any amount of time now, you already know that I am a big fan of LEGO and Star Wars. If you’re just popping in with us for this article, well, I love LEGO and Star Wars. I do not think I’m alone in this passion because there are some really great Star Wars LEGO creations out there. That said, this just might be my all-time favorite. This is an amazing piece of work. This person should be a Master Builder for sure. He said he just wanted to build something that would be like his own dream set but this is really, really incredible. The attention to detail, the amount of painstaking work that likely went into it… it’s crazy. I’m not even sure where to begin with explaining how awesome this one is. Here’s a description from the builder: ISD Tyrant with LEGO’s…

Star Wars Posters by LEGO

I love LEGO and I love Star Wars. I’ve written about this before here on the site. So you can imagine how excited I get when LEGO and Star Wars come together, as they often do. Here is a really cool example of that in these Star Wars posters by LEGO. Someone has taken the time to put them together side-by-side. Despite the last one being flipped, it’s a really good way to see all of them at once like this the way the original posters were intended to be viewed. LEGO Star Wars Posters I really love the creativity that went into recreating each poster so that it looks like the originals, but with LEGO flair. The last poster doesn’t quite have the same style and I read somewhere that it was a fan creation but I can’t seem to find any solid facts confirming this. Still, I like…

The Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer is Hilarious

Lego Star Wars games are some of my favorite games—they let you relive the Star Wars experience, but bring something new to it (usually that “something new” is hilarity). And the new trailer for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens definitely has me looking forward to a new entry in the series. Between an X-Wing with windshield wipers, BB-8 running into things, and the Stormtrooper playing with the light switch on the troop transport, this trailer is really funny, and I can’t wait to see more from this game. It’s not out until 28 June, but we’ll be keeping you updated on any new information as soon as it comes out. Until then, what was your favorite Lego Star Wars game or scene? (I’ve always enjoyed playing as my favorite bounty hunter, IG-88.)  Let us know your favorites below!

SWTOR Fighter Fleet Out of Lego

You know how we love fans doing cool stuff. Here we have someone creating a Star Wars fleet out of LEGO. You can see a picture below. One is a Flashfire the other a Novadrive. It’s a simple but accurate start to a Star Fleet, in my opinion. Check this out: It was the first one he did but he didn’t stop there. He continued to build more ships and the results are pretty amazing. Here are more: SWTOR fleet update And: Update 8/1/2015 Star Wars Fleet And: G-9 Rigger Falcon vs Ghost mid build Ebon Hawk Bounty Hunter fleet update And what he says was his most difficult build to date: Sun Crusher

KOTFE in LEGO

Allow me to remind everyone again of how I love Star Wars and LEGO. Then you’ll understand why I love this fan art done with LEGO to represent KOTFE and I think you can appreciate it too, even if you’re not a big LEGO fan like me. These were created by a fan named Qeusen and posted to DeviantArt and took about an hour to render. The eyebrows are an especially nice touch (you’ll know what I mean if you saw the trailer). It will be nice if we get more actual TOR LEGO sets. And if the new movie gets an accompanying LEGO game, all the better! This is a very cute fan creation, however. While it’d surely take forever, it’d be awesome to see the entire trailer done in LEGO. Do you have any LEGO Star Wars/ LEGO TOR creations of your own? We want to see them!…

Star Wars Battlefront Classes in LEGO Form

Okay, regular readers know what a big LEGO fan I am. There are few things I love more than LEGO Star Wars so I found this pretty cool and had to share it with you. You can see from the images below that another fan created some Star Wars Battlefront classes out of minifigs. They’re pretty spot on with what the real classes would look like and the builder had a fine eye for detail when it comes to getting these right. battle front classes Here we have seven images that depict the Star Wars Battlefront classes. There’s the Clone Trooper, Heavy Trooper, Sharpshooter, Engineer, Clone Commander, and Jet Trooper. The Jet Trooper’s gun isn’t exactly spot on since it should be a little bit wider but we think he did awesome with what he had to work with. You could probably also do Rebels and Stormtroopers if you wanted…

LEGO Star Wars Sets List

As regular readers will know, I love Star Wars and I love LEGO. So imagine how excited I am to hear about the new Star Wars LEGO sets coming in 2016! The set lists are out and there are some pretty cool things for The Force Awakens, the Original Trilogy, Rebels, Battlefront and more. The crew over at MintinBox have some very interesting info about the 2016 winter sets (awesome since the Summer 2015 sets are not even out yet). The list is extensive, meaning we will see a lot of Star Wars LEGO upcoming (no surprise based on the release of the new film). The list begins with The Force Awakens sets: Microfighter Microfighter Hero Battle Pack Villain Battle Pack Battle on Takodana The Pirate Transport First Order Stormtrooper Constraction Figure Then we have some Original Trilogy sets: Hoth Attack Bespin Carbon Freezing Chamber Droid Escape Pod I’m excited about the new Bespin set for…

SWTOR XS Stock Freighter LEGO MOC

Here is a really awesome LEGO project by DrewRaub. Here he has an Imgur album detailing the design and building of his SWTOR MOC. Those of you who have been reading our site for awhile know that I am a huge nerd for all things LEGO and all things Star Wars so of course, I’m a fan of SWTOR/Star Wars LEGO sets. While this is a very niche set, the OP could still post it to LEGO ideas, as they are great about monitoring it and getting fan favorites into action. You can also order/buy the pieces and build the set yourself but it will run you around $275-300 based on the creator’s guidelines and the current cost of LEGO bricks. Whether you want to get it and build it yourself or just admire the great creative job by Drew, it’s pretty awesome so we’ll share his full album below so you…

LEGO Star Wars Sith Fighter Knights of the Old Republic

There is a really cool project over on LEGO Ideas that we want to tell you about. STAR WARS – Sith Fighter – Knights of the Old Republic is a project we very much want to see happen. It currently has 16 days left and nearly 700 supporters at the time we write this. Here is some info from the description: The Sith fighter was a starfighter that formed the bulk of Darth Revan and Darth Malak‘s space forces during the Jedi Civil War, as portrayed in the videogame STAR WARS – Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), nearly 4000 years before Darth Vader’s rising to power. Revan (soon to be included in this set has a minifig) is the main protagonist of Knights of the Old Republic. As the Dark Lord of the Sith and Master of Darth Malak, Revan was led into a trap where a Jedi strike…

Custom LEGO SWTOR Blackbolt

You know how we love bringing you cool Star Wars and SWTOR related stuff. And if you’ve followed my posts here over the past few years, you also know that I am a big LEGO fan. So we are very happy to bring you this cool story of a custom LEGO SWTOR Blackbolt. The builder/creator had this to say about it on Reddit: “A couple firsts for me here: first reddit post, first lego set I bought since childhood (Fury Interceptor), and first custom lego build. The ship and its landing platform are entirely built from the Fury set and there were many leftover pieces.” I wonder how long it took to build this? The images in the gallery below give a good guideline of the process of how it was done. I love to see creative projects like this where people take their LEGO sets and make something original…

SWTOR: XS Freighter LDD (with detailed Interior)

As part of the LEGO MOC Showcase at fbtb.net, a user shared some great images of their build of a Star Wars: The Old Republic – XS Freighter: “Hello! I recently finished my SWTOR XS Freighter in LDD and wanted to share it. While I’ve seen cleaner builds (exterior-wise) I feel a sense of accomplishment with this for including a pretty accurate, detailed interior to the ship.” See the full post and images here. There is a lot of great detail, no small parts gone unnoticed and there are even size/scale comparisons. The creator, November2019, says they have been working on the project off and on for a few months. “There were some frustrating hurdles. It was my first time doing something of this complexity in LDD. Figuring out ‘non-standard’, oblique-angle building techniques was really a mind-bender for me. Very fun though.” We think it looks pretty awesome. I can see…

LEGO Darth Revan Free on May 4th

There is a pretty sweet deal on the official Shop LEGO site in honor of May the Fourth. If you place an order for $75 or more on Star Wars items, you get a LEGO Darth Revan mini figurine for free. This special deal is happening at the LEGO online shop until 11:59 PM EST on May 5. See it here when you Shop LEGO. How does it work? It’s pretty simple actually. All you need to do is add enough Star Wars items to your cart to total $75 or more and then it will automatically show up in your cart as a bonus for you. If you are ordering from another country, you will just need to be sure the dollar exchange amount equals out to $75 US before it will be added to your cart. I really like this deal because it combines two of my favorite things-…

Building the LEGO Death Star

This amazing death star has over 26 minifigures, three floors, and a whole lot of rooms! I really love how much detail went into this thing. The minifigures are well done and finally Lego gives us enough minifigures to really enjoy the set. It has everything from the meeting room to the emperor’s throne room and the detention cell to the trash compactor. Really, really, really, really, really great set! You get all the classic characters, even a few versions of the important ones. The trash compactor is just all right, but most of the other moving parts have the impressive marks of Lego ingenuity. I also love that it takes a long time to build. That helps a little in terms of coming to grips with the fact that you just dropped $400 on a big toy. The fact that it’s 90% gray can get a little tedious. The…

Full-Size LEGO X-Wing Is the Largest Lego Model Ever Built

The impressive life-size model was unveiled in New York City’s Times Square and contains an astonishing 5,335,200 bricks, making it the largest Lego model ever made. The model, which was made to promote new animation series The Yoda Chronicles, towers above at a lofty 11ft (3.35m) and is 43ft (13.1m) in length. It is 42 times the size of the original Lego toy it was based on and took 32 people four months to build. Unsurprisingly fans of the hit movie have been impressed by the creation It was assembled by a team of 32 people over the course of 17,000 man-hours in Kladno, Czech Republic, on what one assumes was the world’s largest living-room floor. The X-Wing comprises 5.3 million Lego bricks, some 2 million more than the previous title-holder, a robot at Minnesota’s Mall of America. At 43 feet from front to back, it’s actually two feet longer than…

Official Corellian Defender Lego set revealed

GrooveBricks have some new images of the upcoming Official Corellian Defender Lego set. We discussed the prototype back in September last year, were the creator needed 10k supporters to get Lego to make it. Apparently we are there now, and will hit the shelves some time this summer. The Defender-class light corvette was a specialized vessel built for the Jedi Order, which they used throughout the Cold War and subsequent Second Great Galactic War. It was heavily shielded, and was armed with two sets of dual laser cannons and a complement of missiles. This new Old Republic looks fantastic in my opinion! LEGO did a great job replicating the original Jedi Defender Cruiser from the Star Wars Old Republic universe. If you compare the original HERE to the LEGO version they pretty much look identical except for the fact that the LEGO version looks a bit chubby. This set includes a total of 927 pieces and it comes along with 4 Old Republic minifigs: Sith…

Daily life on Hoth, illustrated with Lego

One thing I love more than anything is bringing you cool Star Wars and SWTOR stuff. I also love Legos. Here I found an opportunity to merge both. Vesa Lehtimäki creates some amazing scenes with Legos and his “Daily life on Hoth” series is fantabulous! (I also love to make up my own words). He has a super awesome snow effect, brilliant scenes and fun stories to go along with most of the images. He also has many more images on his Flickr in locations other than Hoth but the snowy scenes are some of my favorite. It’s truly magical. Check out Lego on Hoth on Flickr for the full collection but here are some of my faves: Lego Snowtrooper Probe Droid Maintenance Squad “I’m telling you, it will blow!” “Nahh, it’ll be just fine.” Call of the Wild Snowtrooper Ski Patrol They filled their days with long cross-country ski trips…

Awesome SWTOR Lego Sets

I have been a Lego fan since I was a little girl. My kids are now also Lego fans and my boys, as well as my 3 year old daughter, love Star Wars Legos. Too bad we couldn’t have all been at the New York Toy Fair on Sunday because those who were there told us all about the awesome Star Wars and SWTOR themed Lego sets that were presented. Kotaku has some great pictures of these sets in their gallery. Dual Shockers also wrote about the SWTOR legos on presentation: We all know that LEGO produces a very successful series dedicated to the Star Wars franchise. What we didn’t know yet is that they are releasing two kits dedicated to Star Wars: The Old Republic. The kits, showcased at the Toy Fair in New York, will be themed after the Imperial Fury class interceptor (that you can pilot as…

Star Wars Fan Movie Spirit of Fandom Award Winner: The Tentacle Trap

I can’t resist sharing these Star Wars Fan Movie Awards winners, so I won’t. This latest addition to the winner’s gallery is that which walked away with the Spirit of Fandom Award, and was made by Caribbean-based filmmaker James Austen. The Tentacle Trap tells the tale of a small band of Clone pirates who are captured by a foe far worse than Darth Vader while on a treasure-hunting trip to a leafy planet. Anyway, here it is… Austen spoke to the Official Star Wars blog about the specific difficulties presented by working with stop-motion and Lego: Remembering not to be a clumsy oaf was the biggest challenge to overcome! Halfway through a scene I’d often knock the camera or the set and have to start all over again. I lost hours making that mistake. And surprised with the software that is now available, and the help, advice and resources online….
