We’re excited about the upcomming Star Wars: Battlefront (at least I know I am) and this is why I love bringing you updates, news, rumors and pretty much anything else related to help pass the time until we actually get to report on the game itself. As you know, there were plans for the game that are now cancelled as DICE takes over production. I feel confident in DICE’s ability to bring us a fantastic game and I don’t think they are rushing the title or going for a money grab (easy to do, knowing how badly we all want it). But if you’re curious, you can take a look at the cancelled models that showcase what it would have looked like. Check out the gallery for yourself:

Will Star Wars: Battlefront Release Line up with Star Wars: Episode VII Release?
Fans are talking about the release of Star Wars: Battlefront. That’s nothing new. We’re all excited about the game and anxious for updates about when we’ll get to check it out for ourselves (finally). Reports say that development may be delayed on this game as DICE has stopped working on upcoming releases. We don’t mind waiting for it, honestly, as long as we get the game and not another disappointment or cancelled title. The internet was abuzz today with rumors about the release and the possibility that it will line up with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII. Will it be awhile before we get the chance to play this highly anticipated game? Most signs point to yes. However, Viktor Lundberg (Developer and soundtrack musician) recently posted a Twitter message mentioning that he was looking forward to “playtesting” the game-playable alpha and beta versions of the game are available internally,…
SWTOR Players- What Keeps You Coming Back?
SWTOR has been out for awhile now and like many games today, it has had its changes since the early days. Not only has the payment model changed from subs to free-to-play, there have been many content updates and expansions and even graphical changes to keep the game fresh and new. But, as with any game that has been out awhile, some people get tired of it. It is not usual at all to find fans who quit for periods of time (months, even) and then return. So this brings up the question: what keeps you coming back? As most of us who have been gaming for a long time know, even an excellent game can get tiring or boring. Even if we love it and we play it every day, we are not immune to burn out. Some players realize that it helps to plan ahead for game fatigue…
Expansion Initials Revealed – SOR Teasers
We have some exciting expansion news today as we look at the teaser images and video file names, we see some leaked hints at the expansion title. This isn’t data-mined info but rather what Bioware themselves put out on the official news site. You’d think they had learned their lesson about this sort of thing in the past, or maybe they did it on purpose to stir up some more hype for the new expansion. If you at the file names for the images in the news post, you will see they are saved as “SORTeaser”, meaning the new expansion will be called SOR. See for yourself here: http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/vc/09162014_SORTeaser/SORTeaser_550x120.jpg http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/vc/09162014_SORTeaser/SORTeaser_854x480.jpg http://www.swtor.com/sites/all/files/en/vc/09162014_SORTeaser/gt_sor_FINAL_US.mp4 So what might it stand for? Forum members and Redditors are taking their guesses and we have one of our own. Shadow(s) of Revan sounds like a good bet to us since it also fits well to the Forged Alliance…

SWTOR Tips for Small Guilds Doing Conquests
The Conquest system within SWTOR is a pretty good one in many ways. It’s also a good way to get back into some of that older content and see it all again (or for the first time). However, if you have a small guild, you may have found that it’s just not as easy to do the conquests. Some players feel like guilds with smaller numbers don’t have a chance to compete for the Top 10. Well, here are a couple of things to know. First, even if you don’t make it in the top 10, doing these conquests is a great way to build guild unity. Secondly, depending on your server, you might have more of a chance than you think at moving up the ranks if you just get a good solid group of people together to commit. So with that in mind, if you want to try…
Show Us Your Crib- Guildship Decorating
Guildships are here and many players have been spending their time collecting items and decorating their pads. In fact, for some players it is so much fun, it’s almost become like a game inside the game. You can be as unique and creative as you desire when it comes to decorating your guildship. A lot of people choose to make it themed to their guild, or to roleplay as their characters. Some players just get silly or random with it. And here from Dulfy you can find a list of SWTOR Galactic Stronghold Decorations and how to obtain them. So with that said, we invite you to show us your guildships. If you share screenshots with us, we’d also love to hear the story behind it, what you decorated with or where you came up with your ideas for decorating. Here are some images from one really awesome guildship belonging to…
Thank You Dark Horse Comics
We love Star Wars and we love comics. As fans, it can be difficult to picture a world without Star Wars and quite frankly, why would we want to? But such a time did exist and we have one name to thank for helping end that dark era in Star Wars history: Dark Horse EUCantina.net brings us some interesting news about Dark Horse Comics this week: This week marks the final scheduled release in the Expanded Universe, or as it has been rebranded, Legends time line. Dark Horse comics has the unique privilege of closing it out with the final issue in the Legacy series. For those who don’t know, Dark Horse has been putting out Star Wars stories since 1991. It was Dark Horse comics that helped rekindle the Star Wars fandom after a dark period in the 80s when they stopped making Star Wars action figures and Marvel…
Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Rumors
As you may already know, there are many rumors going around about the release of Star Wars Battlefront 3 and everyone wants to be the first to release some exciting news about the game. We try to bring you the news as we find it confirmed but sometimes it’s also fun to mull over the rumors. Sometimes speculation becomes fact when the game is released. Even when it doesn’t, it can be fun to imagine while we wait for official news. So here are some things we know about Battlefront 3. First, EA has the sole rights to development of all Star Wars games but they have brought in some subsidiaries like DICE, Bioware and Visceral Games to help them develop the popular, upcoming title. Galactic Strongholds – Gathering vs Crafting Prices Spreadsheet
Are you curious what it will cost for gathering and crafting supplies for Galactic Strongholds? You are not alone and as usual, a member of the community has looked for a way to create a tool to help with this. The Gathering vs Crafting Prices Spreadsheet was created with data from just one server at one point in time so it is of course, subject to change, but it gives you a good baseline idea. In time, if it’s worked on a bit more, it could be a very good tool. You can also take the spreadsheet as is and then update it for your server and your own needs so you always have an up to date tool to help you reference costs. The spreadsheet lists the server of the GTN prices being marked, the date and time and detailed info about the item and how much it costs. There…
TOR TV: Opening 24x Gatekeeper’s Stronghold Packs
The first in a series of Galactic Stronghold cartel packs have arrived… with more items AND they’re even cheaper than they used to be. With decorations now included in these packs, can Charlie find something worth keeping? We love these videos and articles where people open their packs for us and show us what they get. It’s a lot of fun getting caught up in the opening, hoping they will find something rare or at very least, some cool and useful stuff so the purchase is not unfounded. In addition to being fun to watch (although he’s slow), there is also a chance to win some packs for yourself so check it out and find out how. The verdict from this and prior experiences? Don’t open packs if you are looking for something specific unless you are planning to open 50+ of them. So we have the opening of 24…
Amazon Purchases Twitch
Big news today as Amazon has purchased Twitch. The $1 Billion deal is making headlines all over the Internet as Twitch is the most popular video game streaming site online. Google was making bids for the site through it’s YouTube subsidiary, which some fans were not happy with as they felt it narrowed the options of where to share their game footage and streaming. But Twitch came forward today to official announce the deal was done with Amazon for $970 million. It was approved by shareholders today and will be finalized later this year. Emmett Shear, CEO of Twitch, had this to say on their official blog: Today, I’m pleased to announce we’ve been acquired by Amazon. We chose Amazon because they believe in our community, they share our values and long-term vision, and they want to help us get there faster. We’re keeping most everything the same: our office,…
Next ‘Star Wars’ Will Have Less CGI, More Practical Effects
What do the future Star Wars films hold for us? Fans everywhere are at the edge of their seats waiting for any new information about the films. Well, here’ s a little update. Rian Johnson says the next ‘Star Wars’ will have less CGI and more practical effects. At the time of the first trilogy, the special effects were new and all the rage. Now, we’ve seen that happen time and time again in Hollywood. Hollywood Reporter has this to say: As if videos from the set of J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars movie featuring live-action alien costumes and full-scale X-Wing Fighters haven’t been enough of a clue, Rian Johnson, who will pick up the franchise after Abrams, says Star Wars: Episode VII will feature more practical, traditional effects. “They’re doing so much practical building for this one. It’s awesome,” Johnson said on the latest Girls in Hoodies podcast. “I think people are coming back around to [practical effects]. It feels like there is sort of…

In addition to the usual game modes of most Battlefront games, some fans are looking for some new games modes with a Star Wars theme for the newest installment of Star Wars: Battlefront. Tom from Battlefront News created a great video with his ideas for potential game modes. We have some Wookiee love, a Bounty Hunter mode and of course, Armada. He explains each game mode, how it works and how it would be played, complete with the objectives breakdown.

Star Wars: Episode VII Rumors and Leaks
Following up on Elrik post, I wanted to make a run down on all the newest rumors on Star Wars: Episode 7. Could there be a spy behind the scenes of Star Wars Episode VII? Or maybe some of these leaks were done on purpose? The Star Wars franchise is notorious for being tight-lipped about developments and productions but recently there has been a surge of photos leaked out from the set of the new film leaking concept art and props. Disney and Lucasfilm did not comment on the leak and whether or not the photos are legit (which is to be expected). So for now we have to treat this like a rumor but it’s a very interesting rumor indeed. Here are some of the things being leaked that has people talking: New Stormtrooper helmets – Indie Revolver’s Jay Carlson made a post with some images of what was supposed to…
MMO Speak- Do You Know Your Lingo?
It’s an interesting topic… one we’ve actually mentioned here before but one that we sometimes forget about. Online games have their own lingo. We can break that down even more and say MMORPGs have their own speak and SWTOR has its own that is specific to it. Someone who is very new to the game or new to the work of online gaming would have a hard time knowing what the heck we’re talking about. In fact, some have said that gamer jargon sounds like a foreign language to the untrained ear. Can you imagine it? All the talk about “trash” and “DPS” and doing “FPs”? People are likely to look at you like you’re crazy. But in the gamer world, we know just what these things mean (or at least most of them). Do you ever think back to when you first started playing a certain game or maybe…
