More Cancelled Star Wars Games

In the land of Star Wars games, many never make it to be played and enjoyed. It’s a cold, hard truth of the industry and one that we have seen happen time and time again, to the frustration of many onlooking fans. We experienced this with Star Wars 1313 and now you can add a cancelled, complete Rogue Squadron game for the Wii to the list. A recent interview on IGN’s podcast “Nintendo Voice Chat” we hear from Julian Eggebrecht, President of Factor 5 (now defunct) about where his team was at working on different Star Wars games for multiple platforms. What would you think of a trilogy of Obi-Wan Kenobi films? I think I’d be interested in seeing it, in hopes they don’t mess it up and that it’s actually interesting. We talked before about the new Star Wars films being in development and how there were talks of many more Star Wars films and shows in the works. Could this rumor be of one of those? If Disney and Lucasfilm are making such a series, it would definitely be of interest to Star Wars fans. When elaborating of what they films would be about, it was said that they would be interconnected but also able to stand alone as independent films (think like James Bond). The unnamed source of the rumor says that Lucasfilm already…

Why BioWare Can’t Officially Support Fan Sites, Podcasters, Etc.

Some people might be curious why Bioware never seems to show a lot of support for the fan sites and fans that work so hard to promote them. This can be very frustrating if you don’t have a solid understanding of how these things work and why. It’s very important that Bioware doesn’t show any favoritism to a particular fansite or podcast, as this could cause some serious issues. There’s also a little matter of some liability issues that could come into play. Bioware is definitely not the only company to take this very same stance. But recently, they explained the reasoning why. In a recent live-stream, Courtney and Pokket explains why Bioware cannot officially support 99% of the streamers, podcasts and fansites. Basically, the fansite agreement says they can not have ties with any site that has advertisements of any kind. Streamers have Twitch adds Youtube has preroll adds Podcasts…

When Will SWTOR See New PvP Content?

We have heard a lot of talk about SWTOR and the new content coming out recently. Fans are hyped up about all the good stuff coming with 3.0 but one player on the forums asked something that I was also thinking: Can we expect to see any PvP content or news any time soon. While SWTOR isn’t marketed as a PvP game, it does still have those elements to it and some players really like it so it would be great to see Bioware do a little more in this area to keep things fun and interesting. Community Manager Eric Musco had this to say in response on the forums: Hey Jaiyne, Good question, let me take a stab at this one. If you are asking specifically for news about new content, such as a Warzone or Arena map, then the answers is unfortunately no. There are no new maps,…

SWTOR Lore Speculation

The Sith Emperor: 3.0 & What Came Before – When it comes to lore speculation, we love to hear what other fans have to say. Forum user Darth_Wicked has actually brought us some interesting insights into SWTOR lore and now he has some things to say about the Sith Emperor. In this post on the official forums, he talks about the current state of affairs concerning the “galaxy’s greatest villain”; What came before and what may be coming next. He starts off with a nod to a Facebook post by Doug Bradley back in June of this year and then goes on to talk about the Emperor. “Said to be immortal by many of his servants, the Emperor came to power shortly after Naga Sadow fled to exile in Yavin 4 with his Massassi Warriors, on the aftermath of the Old Empire’s defeat in the Great Hyperspace War. Leading the survivors to Dromund Kaas, shortly…

From BioWare to Indie Van Game Jam

The “Indie Van Game Jam” was supposed to drive around the country, making games and interviewing developers. Their kickstarter project didn’t make enough money, but they decided to do it anyway, Kotaku explains. These three guys used to work for Bioware- Zeb, Chad and Diego. They met on the staff of SWTOR and like many of the people I met when visiting BioWare Austin, they were part of big layoffs/quits that came after the game’s released. The friends came together on a new project and they travel the country working on games. So what is the Indie Van Game Jam? Here’s an explanation in their own words: “We travel in a van, make games, and ask independent developers how they make theirs. Think Man Vs. Food meets Indie Game: The Movie.”” Yea, sounds pretty cool, right? I want to be doing something similar with my life now that you mention it. Ok,…

One fan, Darth Wicked, asks these questions “Where is Revan? Is that a temple of some sorts? And if it is, who built it? And where? Come to think of it, is that even Revan to begin with? And what about that… thing behind him? Is it a Sith artifact or something else? Something more?” and then he actually goes on to answer in detail with some ideas of his own.
