Here it is… the new SWTOR controller 3.o. It has everything you need for a hilarious, I mean, fun time playing the class of your choice. You may need to make the image bigger to see all the details but we think you’ll like it as much as we did. The Hatred Assassin, for example, has the “Instant win” button. It also has buttons for resetting the battle the 1st, 2nd and 3rd time. Lightning Sorc has the “ForceSpam” button and don’t forget about all of those LOLs. All in all, it’s a pretty hilarious diagram and we know our readers can appreciate it as well. Thank yous go out to Xinikos on Reddit for the heads-up and some of the commenters there have some pretty good ideas of their own. If you had a custom controller to play SWTOR, what would your functions be?

SWTOR/KOTOR Tattoo Sleeves
We have written before about Star Wars tattoos (like the SWTOR tats that the dynamic duo,Dr. Greg Zeschuk and Cory Butler got) and these fans who love SWTOR enough to get inked forever. Some people are just not into tatts and that’s perfectly fine but I do love to see the creative ways people express their love for Star Wars. With that in mind, here is a perfect example. Gorrin (on Reddit) has a KOTOR/SWTOR themed sleeve. In fact, both of his arms are decked in Star Wars color tattoos. If you’re a fan of the dark side, you’ll probably appreciate this even more than most. You can check out full-color photos for yourself here: So we’ll ask our readers again: do you have Star Wars or SWTOR ink? We’d love to see your pictures in the comments!
Handmade Revan Armor by Fan
We love when fans share the awesome Star Wars and SWTOR-themed projects they do so we were happy to see this one from JigabooFriday on Reddit. He did an amazing job! The handmade Revan armor is superb but of course, hardcore fans couldn’t have it in that dreamy bedroom backdrop so some took the liberty of editing his photos to give cool captains and/or scenes in the background, which of course, makes it even more fun. I admit what’s really missing is how he did it. I would love to see him take the time to type up an instructional piece so those of us at home can follow suit. Even better, if you’re thinking of doing something like this, take some pictures or video for us along the way and show us exactly how it’s done. Then be sure to message us here and we’ll even feature you in a story….
Star Wars Humble Bundle is a Deal You Don’t Want to Miss
I will admit, I am a big fan of Humble Bundle. Not only have I used it to get some pretty sweet deals on games for myself, but we also use it often in a gaming community I am part of to get great game prizes for our members. It’s a good idea for gifts, too. Humble Bundle works by allowing you to choose your price. The number of games you get from a bundle is based around the average price donated so far. If you get in early, you can usually get the lowest pricing. Of course, if you really like what they’re doing and you want to support the developers, Humble Bundle and charity, you can donate more. So you name your price and you can pay with credit card or Paypal and you get the games included in that bundle. I like that nearly all the games…
Star Wars LIGHT UP Chop Sabers from Think Geek
How much cooler can you get than Light Up Lightsaber chopsticks? This is another great product we received from ThinkGeek.com for review and this is the one I had to try to hide from my kids the hardest. I mean, what kid doesn’t want mini lightsabers? Too bad for them, this was my toy! I was super excited to get them out of the packaging and find something noodly or rice-based to fully enjoy the experience. If you do choose to actually eat with them, the clear sticks are removable for easy washing. The assembly was the hardest part of these. The parts are tiny, the batteries (included) are even tinier and I spent quite some time trying to get them to go into the spring-loaded battery area. This is definitely not for small children! However, once I managed to get the batteries into the handle and close them up,…
Star Wars Items from Think Geek: Review
We got some fantastic items from Think Geek for us to review, all part of their Star Wars collection that is ever-growing. These items were actually sent a while back but I’ve been a bit MIA due to an accident and surgery and subsequent personal issues relating to that. So first, allow me to apologize for the delay and second, let’s get to the items we have been sent and then I will review them one by one in more detail. I’d like to personally thank Think Geek for sending these really awesome items for me to enjoy and to share with all of you. I will be reviewing the following in full detail: Limited Edition Star Wars Moleskin Notebooks I was very excited about this because I happen to be a big fan of Moleskin notebooks. I use them regularly for my journaling and since I also love Star…
SWTOR as eSport – Can It Happen?
So this is not the first time this question has been proposed but we want to open it up for a bit of discussion here. Could SWTOR make it as an eSport? With the growing popularity and demand on esports, it doesn’t seem far-fetched to think about other games getting into the scene. But is SWTOR a good choice? What aspects of SWTOR could be made into an eSport? We’d clearly be looking at PvP options, right? There is a sect of players who love SWTOR solely for the PvP side, despite this not being what the game is specifically made for and branded to. There will always be players who love PvP and want to get specifically into that style of play. So with that in mind, let’s take a look at what might work for SWTOR in an eSports environment. SWTOR PvP tournaments played out on Twitch? This…
Pokket to Leave BioWare
If you missed the SWTOR stream this week, you also missed the big news that Pokket (Hillary Nicole) will be leaving Bioware. Pokket joined Bioware Austin as their new Community Coordinator. Her job was to help maintain relationships with fan sites, guilds, streamers and more. She also worked to build community relations and any other aspect of the SWTOR community. She posted this image and message to her Instagram after the stream: “Had fun on the #SWTOR stream. Thanks for the carry, y’all. Sorry for the bittersweet news. In case you missed it, next week is my last week at Bioware. /pout I’ll still be going to PAX South, though, as myself ofc ^o^ :D” While she is not saying the reason for leaving Bioware at this time, it is speculated that she was brought on for a contract job and not full-time employment so it could just be that her contract has…
SWTOR Drops 2 Places in Raptr’s Most Played
While it’s still in the top 15, SWTOR has sadly dropped two ranks in the Raptr’s Most Played list this month. This means it moved from 12th place to 14th, which really isn’t a super large jump. Some big names topped the list in November, which could explain SWTOR getting bumped down two slots. Also, the release of WoW’s new expansion means it sits comfortably in the #2 spot, just below the ever-popular League of Legends. 3rd place is DOTA 2 and CS:GO brought up the 4th place spot. Spider Solitaire – Play Free Game Online is not on the list. Raptr credits this drop in ranks to some of the new titles that have been released (no surprise) especially to WoW’s new expansion. Another funny fact: “For the first time since October 2013, Spider Solitaire made its way back into Most Played. Turns out Thanksgiving isn’t just about turkey,…
TOR TV: House of Cards SWTOR Intro
Youtube user EggsGamerTag has created a very cool House of Cards SWTOR intro that we just had to share with you. If you are not familiar with House of Cards, you are missing out. The show is an American political drama television series, developed and produced by Beau Willimon. It is an adaptation of BBC’s mini-series of the same name and is based on the novel by Michael Dobbs. The entire first season, thirteen episodes, premiered on February 1, 2013, on the streaming service Netflix. A second season of thirteen episodes premiered on February 14, 2014. On February 4, 2014, ten days prior to the release of the second season, Netflix announced that the show had been renewed for a third season, which will be released on February 27, 2015. For some reason, it also goes really well with Star Wars: The old Republic. Check it out yourself:
SWTOR Game Update 3.0 Class Changes: Guardian + Juggernaut
With Game Update 3.0 coming soon, we’ve been getting updates from the SWTOR developers about the various class changes taking place. This week we got an update about Guardian and Juggernaut. This will help you to see what changes are coming to these classes in the game in more detail. There is also opportunity for discussion, should you have any questions or concerns about these changes and how it will affect how you play the game. Here is a snippet from Guardian. Please check out the Sentinel blog for the base Class changes coming to the Jedi Knight. Now that Guardians have Riposte all to themselves, we have slightly modified how it works to suit them better. We put Riposte back on the global cooldown, which allowed us to lower the focus it consumes while also increasing the damage it deals, so it now consumes less focus and deals more…
LEGO Star Wars Sith Fighter Knights of the Old Republic
There is a really cool project over on LEGO Ideas that we want to tell you about. STAR WARS – Sith Fighter – Knights of the Old Republic is a project we very much want to see happen. It currently has 16 days left and nearly 700 supporters at the time we write this. Here is some info from the description: The Sith fighter was a starfighter that formed the bulk of Darth Revan and Darth Malak‘s space forces during the Jedi Civil War, as portrayed in the videogame STAR WARS – Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR), nearly 4000 years before Darth Vader’s rising to power. Revan (soon to be included in this set has a minifig) is the main protagonist of Knights of the Old Republic. As the Dark Lord of the Sith and Master of Darth Malak, Revan was led into a trap where a Jedi strike…
Things Veteran Players Wish Newbs Knew
If you are new to SWTOR, or if you know someone who is new to the game, you MUST direct them to this thread in the forums Things Veteran Players Wish Newbs Knew. We’ve all been new once, whether it was new to the game or new to MMORPGs altogether. Sometimes we forget what it’s like for a new player and how overwhelming some of the tasks that seem so simple to us may me. It’s easy to get frustrated with them, but you can do them a favor and send them to this very useful thread. “With how fast people are leveling and consequently how much game experience they are skipping entirely, then you factor in the legions of derps making threads like “The Weird people you meet in Group Finder” possible, Ive been wishing there was a thread like this (and that bioware would somehow force people to…
SWTOR is 12th Most Played PC Game in October According to Raptr; Up from 15th in September
As you can see from the chart, Wildstar and ESO are not even on the chart anymore and GW2 has dropped below SWTOR. TF2 is still in the top 20 but just barely, after dropping two ranks. We have two new entries on the list with Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. Another entry in the top five that I’ve personally decided to check out is ArchAge. Battlefield 4 and Minecraft are in the top 10. WoW really picked things up (with their new expansion out now, it’s no surprise) but they still didn’t come close to taking the lead from League of Legions, reigning the top spot with a playtime increase of 2.78% compared to September. WoW was, however, up 16.32% in October versus last month.
SWTOR Game Update 3.0 Class Changes: Sentinel + Marauder
Today from the SWTOR Developer Blogs we have yet another 3.0 Game Update class changes post. In this one, Sentinel and Marauder. If you play a Jedi Knight, it’s time to learn about the changes coming in the 3.0 update. Here’s a blurb from the blog that you really need to read for yourself to ensure you don’t miss anything. We’ve put together this blog to inform Jedi Knights of the major changes that are coming in the 3.0 update. Just a couple of disclaimers before we jump in: this blog is not a comprehensive list of every single Jedi Knight change. Also, please note that the content described in this blog is still under development, so anything mentioned throughout this blog is still subject to change (especially any exact numbers or percentages that may be mentioned). Okay, let’s get started! In 3.0, the most significant change found in the…
Inquisitor/Consular SWTOR 3.0 Changes – Livestream Notes
What changes will we see to Inquisitor/Consular with Game Update 3.0? Well, now we have some information to help us answer this question. Most of the livestream went over utilities and disciplines and Dulfy has a great breakdown of the whole thing for us. You can see SWTOR Disciplines Calculator built by swtor_miner. This calculator currently only displays Classes and Disciplines that have been shown on Official Livestreams. See it here. Utilities Overload now heals a max of 8 targets. It is a smart heal (picks the lowest HP % targets to heal). There is a trait now to allow Cloud Mind to increase your damage reduction by 25% for 6 seconds. Bubble stun is now an utility and available to all sorcs. Lighting Barrier – increases your Force Barrier amount by 10% only (down from 20%). Corruption Roaming Mend is the new Corruption ability and grant 3% internal and elemental damage reduction…
Game Update 3.0 Class Changes: Sage + Sorcerer
The latest update from the SWTOR blog gives us news about some Game Update 3.0 class changes to Sage and Sorcerer. It’s not surprising that this update will bring changes to the various classes in the game but previously, we were not sure what those would be. Now, as we draw closer to the date, we get more information on just what we can expect. For the base Class changes, please see the Shadow blog here. As for Sage, here is a snippet from the post: Sages have seen some changes to their baseline ability package. Deliverance is now only accessible to Seer Sages, but all Sages now have Rejuvenate. Force Studies now increases the Sage’s maximum Force pool up to 600, rolling in the extra 100 Force from the now cut Mental Longevity skill. All Sages can now train the following passive ability: Inner Strength: Reduces the Force consumed by Force…
SWTOR Quests To Do before the Revan Expansion
It’s almost time for the much anticipated Revan expansion for SWTOR. With it only a short time away, it makes sense that fans will be preparing, enjoying the game or preparing their game and characters for this expansion. If you’re looking for something to do before the ex-pac, you might want to read this post from Larry Everett over at Hyperspace Beacon. He has eight quests you need to do in SWTOR before the expansion and he explains why. So if you have not yet done these quests, then you may want to take some time before December and get this done. Let’s take a look at a snippet from the article: The Maelstrom Prison continues the adventure of Taral V. Players now lead a strike team into the Imperial base itself to rescue the Jedi prisoner, who we later find out is Revan. If you’re on the Imperial side…
My Thoughts On 12x Experience In SWTOR!
Is the bonus for Shadows of Revan a good idea? Is BioWare making the right move by offering this 12x experience bonus to those who subscribe and preorder? Here we have an interesting video from Zach Sharpes that presents this question and then looks to answer it by trying it out. Not everyone likes the 12x experience, actually. Here is one post as an example that brings up a very good point. What if it were on a toggle? Not everyone wants to take advantage of the 12x experience. You shouldn’t be forced to it if you really didn’t want it. So a toggle option would be a good way to give the best of both worlds. Here’s a quote from that post in the forums linked above: Customer Support Team: If you could pass on the impressions of a big fan who really wishes she had never pushed that…
Star Wars Battlefront: Lessons from Star Wars 1313
We have talked at length here about Star Wars games- those in the past, current games and games of the future. Looking back at 2012 (it seems like just yesterday) we can recollect on several Star Wars games, including the much-anticipated Star Wars 1313 that would never become a reality. Remember the trailers? Remember E3 and the gameplay footage that got us all excited? Then it was all ripped away from us as we were told that we would not be seeing this game after all. Movie Pilot has some theories that 1313 will live on in a way by potentially influencing Star Wars Battlefront. “But what about Star Wars 1313? Can it leave behind any information for us? A lasting legacy? Can it show us what sort of gameplay we could expect from Star Wars Battlefront 3? Maybe, or maybe not, either way, I just want to look at…
ESA Lands on Comet 67P
A space probe just landing on a moving comet. They say it is like hitting a golf ball and having it land on the moon. This is a very rare and interesting event indeed. It took 10 years for the probe to reach the comment. Then it also had to achieve the difficult task of actually remaining on the comet. The event will hold a place in the history books for sure. The Washington Post used an Imperial Star Destroyer from Star Wars to compare the comet’s size. Way to get people into the story and current events by reaching them with nerd humor! I like that Washington Post uses an Imperial Star Destroyer to show the size of the comet Philae landed on! @StarWars pic.twitter.com/IrtThqIaTI — Amy Ratcliffe (@amy_geek) November 12, 2014 This is pretty cool: Comet 67P, to be visited by Rosetta/Philea. Approximately 6 km total length, long…
How to Play Pazaak in the SWTOR
Do you want to know how to play Pazaak in SWTOR? Many players are asking why Bioware doesn’t put Pazaak and other cantina games into the game permanently. There are some specific reasons why this may be so. The biggest reason is the gambling element. It can be tricky to put gambling in a video game and distribute to various countries that have different laws about this type of content. So for this, you can take a look at the graphic below but here it depicts How to Play Pazaak in SWTOR.
