Doing last weekends Comic-Con in Dallas, BioWare took the opportunity and hold a a Community Cantina. If you haven’t read about the Comic-Con yet, Lisa had posted a few interesting reads about it. You can check them out here and here. No one from swtorstrategies was at the Community Cantina, but luckily Crafter over at ootinicast.com posted a lengthy write up of what was said by the developers. Some of the most interesting news is: Guild Ships will come eventually – When they look awesome ( They are Damion Schubert’s baby) A big PvP patch is coming soon Same-gender romance was not part of the original design team’s implementation, so it didn’t get included. Moving forward they will not make the same mistakes. Additionally more story content is coming, but no ETA We will probably never get flying mounts Check out the full write up over at ootinicast.com

TOR TV: Fan made Jedi Consular Story Trailer
Youtube user Gabriel Deleon, made this Jedi Consular Story Trailer This is pretty well done and make me seriously want to play Consular now. The music really took me back to being a kid and playing KotOR. It evokes alot of depth. I really love some of the cutscenes in SWTOR. Now that I think of it, I wish the Jedi Knight had a slight touch of counselor added to the story. For instance you could find your own crystal as well, and not just get everything you needed… and all that jazz.

Cory Butler respond to patch 2.1 criticism
Many people, especially subscribers, have been upset about patch 2.1. People are mad about this patch being a cartel market update only. But players are also forgetting that BioWare already announced how the coming two games updates is planed out. Still Cory Butler found it necessary to post on the official forums explaining what the developers have in mind. Check it out below: Howdy, folks. Cory Butler here to follow-up on some of your concerns that have been surfacing in the forums and on social media sites around Game Update 2.1: Customization. First, it’s important to know that 2.1 will not affect the cadence of our game update schedule. 2.1 was the second half of our Cartel Market implementation plan. So, do not expect to see this type of Market-driven update on a regular basis. This release was comprised almost entirely of cosmetic options that have no impact on combat balance or gameplay….

Community FeedBack Process
Eric Musco has an interesting forum post today, on how BioWare handles feedback. Basically he is saying that SWTOR developers are indeed listening to what the community have to day, but it’s not easy to implement what the players want, or do not want. There is a technically part to the game, and let’s also be honest, most people on the official forums are insane! Reading through the forum thread started by Eric, I can’t stop laughing. Many people are now writing stuff like “Well, since you said you do listen…ANSWER ME THIS!” and ask a random concern that they believe is the biggest problem of SWTOR right now. I would shoot myself if I was a moderator over at swtor.com. I guess it’s true that you will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. Reminds me of the good old Jeff Woods rant Check out the full lenght forum post…
2.1.0b Patch Notes 5/17/2013
Patch notes are up. We were almost right yesterday. It was a bug fix with he crystals. People were more or less printing money off this bug, as you could vendor crystals that you could get for “free””. No event unfortunately. Check out the patch notes below: 2.1.0b Patch Notes 5/17/2013 General White Color Crystals can no longer be Reverse Engineered. The vendor value of Color Crystals that are tracked via the Collections UI has been reduced.
Maintenance: May 17th, 2013 – Patch 2.1.0b
BioWare will be taking down the servers tomorrow to preform maintenance as well as deploying a new patch. Patch notes are not available yet, but giving the developer responses on the forums, it’s probably some kind of exploits / bug thing they need to fix fast. Might have to do with the collections crystals “bug” (mainly because I don’t know if it’s considered a bug) where you can essentially get free crystals from the cartel market. On the other hand.. Patching up to a weekend, might be because of an event? Below are what we know: On May 17th, all game servers will be unavailable as we perform maintenance. Patch 2.1.0b will be implemented during this downtime. Details are as follows: Date: Friday May 17th, 2013 Duration: 2 hours Time: 3AM PDT (10AM UTC) – 5AM PDT (12PM UTC) Thank you for your patience as we maintain service for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
TOR TV: SWTOR / Star Trek Into Darkness Trailer!
Youtube user TraiIerRedux made this awesome, awesome, AWESOME ( No… this is good! ) mashup trailer of SWTOR and J.J. Abrams Star Trek into the Darkness. I bet you have seen so many mashups of the cinematic trailer mashups with Star Wars the old republic by now, so you are thinking – “no more, I’m going to puke!”… But trust me. This one is worth it! At least I still have a hard on after watching it, and you ask my wife, that don’t come easy no more. Stuff like this Makes me 10x more excited for a J. J. Abrams helmed Episode VII. Check it out:
2.1.0a Patch Notes 15/05/2013
BioWaer is pushing a small client side only patch today. So don’t panic if you have to do a small download when you launch the game. The patch is here to fix an issue windows XP users are having when they start the game. Again, This is a client side only patch. No server downtime is needed. General Corrected an issue that prevented many players with Windows XP from launching the game.
Customization options and pricing
Servers have only been up for a few hours, and the internet is already buzzing about all the cool new stuff. If you haven’t tried it out for yourself yet, Dulfy have a video showing off all the customizations available to the new SWTOR Cathar species. Cehck it out below: Over at reddit, DFSniper uploaded an image showing all Customization options and pricing The cost to change species includes all of the sliders in that price (so the 792 in the screenshot includes the cost to change species and the cost for each of the sliders). So, to get a Cathar on existing toons, you’re looking at 600 for the unlock and then another 792 to do the actual species change

Official Corellian Defender Lego set revealed
GrooveBricks have some new images of the upcoming Official Corellian Defender Lego set. We discussed the prototype back in September last year, were the creator needed 10k supporters to get Lego to make it. Apparently we are there now, and will hit the shelves some time this summer. The Defender-class light corvette was a specialized vessel built for the Jedi Order, which they used throughout the Cold War and subsequent Second Great Galactic War. It was heavily shielded, and was armed with two sets of dual laser cannons and a complement of missiles. This new Old Republic looks fantastic in my opinion! LEGO did a great job replicating the original Jedi Defender Cruiser from the Star Wars Old Republic universe. If you compare the original HERE to the LEGO version they pretty much look identical except for the fact that the LEGO version looks a bit chubby. This set includes a total of 927 pieces and it comes along with 4 Old Republic minifigs: Sith…
SWTOR Sith Inquisitor Assassin Leveling Build For game update 2.0
We haven’t been posting many SWTOR builds for a while, but here is a new one from. from swtorsavior.com. This time we take a look at a Sith Inquisitor Assassin Build For PVE/Leveling. The build is a good mix of damage and survivorbility as well. Sith Inquisitors in SWTOR can become one of two advanced classes at level 10, a Sith Assassin (DPS / Tank Class) or a Sith Sorcerer (DPS / Healer). The Sith Assassin uses a double bladed light saber they use to do impressive melee damage. The assassin class also make good tanks, they are more of an avoidance based tank but do make use of their force skills and shields to tank. Assassins have three trees to choose talents from: Darkness (DPS tree), Deception (DPS tree) and Madness (a shared DPS tree shared with the Sith Sorcerer Class). As always I I will recommend you to get…
Cory Butler speaks on the future of SWTOR
mmorpg.com has an interview with BioWare’s Cory Butler discussing customization options coming in Game Update 2.1, Cathar race and Free to play restrictions. Most interesting parth of the interview are the last few questions regarding server transfer which include some new information about upcoming stuff that will be adding. MMORPG.com: Are for-pay server transfers coming? If so, when can players look forward to this service? Can you talk about any additional for-pay services players can look forward to? Cory Butler: Paid Character Transfers were originally slated to be part of Game Update 2.1, but we ran into a few bugs with the new Legacy Achievement system. You can expect Paid Character Transfers to be coming in hot on the heels of Game Update 2.1. No new announcements for paid services to make at this time. Other interesting info from the interview is Cathar Species unlock priced at 600 Cartel Coins for the entire account. This price will be the same for both…
PSA: You can now remove your security key from your account online (no need to call support!)
You can now remove your security key from your account online, without calling support! To do this, go to the main login screen of SWTOR website and enter your username and password and leave the security key field blank. Then on the next screen, choose “Lost Security Key?”. This will send a one time password to your email to verify that you want to remove the security key, then you’re basically set! This works for both the mobile app and the physical security key that you can buy via the official website, but it’s not yet confirmed though if you lose your monthly 100 complimentary cartel coins by doing this.
SWTOR: 2.1 Dye Modules Preview Video
BioWare published a new video showing the changes you can do to your toon, using the new Dye Modules that comes with Star Wars: The old Republic Game Update 2.1 “Customization”“. Personally I really like this Dye feature – because it forces the developers to come up with new armor rather than just recolor it and call it new armor. A very bold move and I hope it works out! Check out the video below:

On Tuesday May 14th, all game servers, SWTOR.com, and the launcher will be unavailable as we perform scheduled maintenance. Game Update 2.1.0 will be implemented during this downtime. Details are as follows: Date: Tuesday May 14th, 2013 Duration: 5 hours Time: 3AM PDT (10AM UTC) to 8AM PDT (3PM UTC) Thank you for your patience as we maintain service for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
TOR TV: RAID TEAM ASSEMBLE
I Have No Idea What I Just Watched… But I Liked It! Actually I do know what I watched. This is a parody of a scene from Anchor man. This is it’s one of my all time favorite movies. It was directed by Adam McKay and starring Will Ferrell. The film, which was also written by Ferrell and McKay, is a tongue-in-cheek take on the culture of the 1970s, particularly the new Action News format. It portrays a San Diego TV station where Ferrell’s title character clashes with his new female counterpart. This film is number 100 on Bravo’s 100 funniest movies, and 113 on Empire’s 500 Greatest Movies of All Time. Anyways… Let the movie speak for it self. If you don’t know were it’s from. check this out.
SWTOR Trooper Vanguard Leveling Build 2.0
In this post we have another build from Swtorsavior.com and this time we are focusing on the Trooper and the Vanguard advanced class that makes an excellent tank! A SWTOR Vanguard is one tough SOB. His main purpose is to soak up damage and dish it back out. The SWTOR Vanguard makes an awesome tank because he has a nice mix of single target and AOE attacks to help him keep aggro on multiple mobs. His primary stats are Aim for offense (threat) and Endurance for Defense (health pool), along with Defense Rating, Shield Rating and Absorption Rating. These are super important because you will be taking the most direct hits of anyone in your party so you need the health pool to stay alive and you need the mitigating stats to reduce the number of hits you take and the amount of damage they do when you are hit. So don’t just…
Future Plans (2.1 & 2.2 Planned Release Dates)
Eric Musco Took on the official forums, updating us with road map for the next two upcoming SWTOR game updates. Game update 2.1 will happen next week on May 14th, and Game update 2.2 will happen the same time as E3 starts on june 11th. Not sure if we should put anything in that. Check out the forum post on the official website or below: 2.1 page update. Is this all? Nothing there for subscribers? | 05.07.2013, 07:44 AM Hey everyone, I wanted to specifically address the concern of “what is a subscriber getting in an all Cartel Market update?” Game Update 2.1 brings a whole lot of customization and convenience features to the game which have been requested for quite some time, such as character name changes etc. As we have stated in the past, we always design systems like this knowing that subscribers will be receiving Cartel Coins each month, and certainly…
Game Update 2.1: Customization Preview
Yesterday via the official Star Wars: The old Republic website, and via a mail Emails sent out by BioWare to all players, we learned about a new web page that gives a few bits of information regarding the customization options coming out in Game Update 2.1. Subscribers get an unspecified discount on appearance stuff in 2.1. Stay tuned for more 2.1 info. Nothing new, really, but we do get a few new screenshots. Check them out below:
