You know how I love watching every Star Wars fan film I can find. I share some of my favorites with you here. Well, here’s one you can put on your list because I definitely have it at the top of mine. This is really a great film in and of its own right, but as a Star Wars fan, you’re going to love it. Honestly, I am a fan of SWTOR since release as well, but I still loved SWG and I do miss it and the community that was built around it when it was closed back in 2011. Obi-Wan Kenobi Film Is Officially Announced
The moment Star Wars fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Fans have been itching for and asking for a film about Obi-Wan Kenobi and now it’s officially been released. We now have confirmation that an Obi-Wan Kenobi film is in the works. It’s at the planning stages and Stephen Daldry is negotiating the project. It’s very early in the planning phase to know too many details as of yet, but the rumor is Daldry will probably write and direct if he gets signed on. Hollywood Reporter says: “The Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone is one of several projects being developed by Lucasfilm and Disney that fall outside the trilogies telling the saga of the Skywalker family. A Han Solo movie is now in the final stages of shooting under new director Ron Howard, and Lucasfilm is also considering pics centering on Yoda and bounty hunter Boba Fett, among other characters….
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast VR with a Gamepad
Who here loved Jedi Knight II: Outcast? I will raise my hand to that, for sure! It was an awesome game. In fact, it has been considered to be one of the best games in the Star Wars franchise history, so I am not alone in my love of it. They just don’t make them like they used to, right? Well, this new game mod let’s you experience the greatness of the game in VR (Raven). Talk about old meeting new! Modder Jochen Leopold has crafted a VR mod for the 2002 classic Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. The mod itself is playable on the Oculus Rift and uses a gamepad for control instead of the Rift’s Oculus Touch controllers. BioWare has released a statement addressing the troubles with yesterdays game update. Game Update 5.4a | 08.31.2017, 11:56 PM Hey everyone, I want to start by apologizing for the unexpected and prolonged downtime today. This isn’t something we ever want to happen, but when it does, we take it seriously and do everything we can to resolve the issue or issues. We are adding additional processes to try and prevent this particular situation from happening again. Here’s essentially what took place today and what’s behind the long downtime: What happened? Wasn’t this tested? The issues we encountered were fairly complex, and having more than one just made things complicated. The first problem was the patch for our BitRaider and SSN launchers were inconsistent and ended up causing different issues after we took the servers out of maintenance. Here are the patch notes for today’s maintenance. Servers has been taken down again though, due to the arrival of new bugs. General Players who do not have the “Invitation: Trader’s Quarters” can no longer be summoned into the Trader’s Quarters on Odessen via a Guild Ship. Flashpoints + Operations + Uprisings Flashpoints Players will now be able to get back to the Umbaran Spider Tank if they die to the adds after killing the boss. It is no longer possible to get stuck on the train in Crisis on Umbara due to aggroing the defensive turrets. Defeating Gladiopod Workers and Soldiers in Crisis on Umbara now properly progress the following Achievements: On the Hunt, The Culling, and Umbaran Safari. Missions + NPCs Missions for the Iokath Daily Area have had their Command XP rewards returned to their correct values.
SWTOR Maintenance: Update 5.4a — Thursday August 31
BioWare will be taking the servers offline on Thursday, August 31st in order to apply Game Update 5.4a. Note that they are still actively testing this patch to ensure the fixes are working properly. they will let us know if maintenance timing changes. Making a Star Wars Battlefront 2 Helmet for Janina Gavankar
This is a really cool project that any Star Wars fan will appreciate. Check out the team making this helmet and then giving it to Janina Gavankar. If you watch the video below all the way to the end, you can also see an interview with her and the presentation of the helmet. It’s absolutely worth watching it all. You can just feel her excitement for the story, her love of Star Wars, and how genuine it is that she really seems to love the helmet. It’s fantastic. She is so excited! Star Wars Battlefront II Builds High Hopes
There is no shortage of competition in the AAA video game industry. Although the time between now and the first quarter of 2018 is replete with big titles coming out, Electronic Arts remains confident that it can deliver on high hopes with Star Wars Battlefront II. Last month, EA CEO Andrew Wilson expressed a positive outlook for the game, stating it was “coming together really, really strong” and praised the reception of both the single-player and multiplayer modes. Optimism is to be expected – it would be strange for Wilson to express doom and gloom – but EA has not changed its estimation of selling 14 million units despite all the optimism. Whether or not you agree with it substantively, Battlefront I got a lot of criticism. I really love indie games. My Steam account is full of indie games I’ve purchased over the years. Some are better than others but I always find it worth my time to check them out, and I love supporting the game development community.
