Fans of the Star Wars series know that Star Wars: Battlefront 3 is due to be released during the latter part of 2015, and because of all the hype there have been a few leaks about what the video game will have when its released. It’s still under development with EA Digital Illusion CE and the game is giving many players big hopes with the release of a trailer in order to provide players a better idea of what to expect with the third installment. So far, we know that the third installment will have general characters and props and it will let players travel to locations like Hoth and Endor. We also know there will be familiar vehicles that have been featured in many Star Wars films, such as the AT-ATs. However, the only major new development that is worth being excited over is that Star Wars: Battlefront 3…

Will Luke Finally Turn to the Dark Side in The Force Awakens?
Plot rumors about The Force Awakens are a dime a dozen, and they continue to come fast and furious, despite J.J. Abrams’ and Lucasfilm’s attempts to stifle leaks. One of the interesting potential plot points that people have been mulling over lately is Luke’s ultimate fate: will he remain a force of good? Or will he follow in Anakin’s footsteps and succumb to the lure of the Dark side? Mark Hamill has stated that he thought Luke would be headed down a Darker path at the end of the original trilogy, but that didn’t play out. Some people think that we could see it this December, but there isn’t much evidence for that. It wouldn’t be surprising to see Disney try to shatter a few people’s expectations for a typical Star Wars movie, but going as far as turning Luke to the Dark side seems a bit unlikely. The tension between…
BioWare Co-Founder Greg Zeschuk Gets Back Into Games
After Dr. Greg Zeschuk, co-founder, retired from BioWare in 2012, he made a web series based on beer called The Beer Diaries. He has now decided to get back into the gaming world, but the return may not be what everyone was expecting. GamesIndustry International reported that Zeschuk has joined the Vancouver based Biba Ventures. This startup is working on making mobile augmented reality apps that will work with playground equipment. Biba announced their deal with a playground equipment company, PlayPower, and they are to construct a collection of Biba supported playgrounds. Mr. Zeschuk will be serving as chairman for Biba. “Biba’s mobile games designed for outdoor play are just a breath of fresh air,” Zeschuk said. “PlayPower and Biba are creating a new category, an inventive way to blend our new media habits with the health benefits and joy of active outdoor play. I am inspired by the category…
Boston Community Cantina Cancelled
Due to snow, BioWare is cancelling the Boston Community Cantina. EricMusco Cancelled The Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Cantina Tour Arrives in Boston, Massachusetts! | 02.20.2015, 09:10 AM Hey folks, Unfortunately I am here to deliver some bad news. Due to the crazy winter the northeast has been getting hit with, we are going to cancel our Boston Cantina Event. I know this may impact plans that some of you are having and so we tried to make this decision ASAP based on what the weather conditions looked like. I will make sure our news article and Facebook event also reflect this. However, as you know, at our Cantinas it has been our goal to change up the format a little bit. Focus less on the Q&A and more on a presentation or something akin to that where we can deliver new information. Well, we are going to take our…
Star Wars Ep. VII Rumor Crackdown
We’ve been posting some of the most interesting rumors about The Force Awakens over the past few months, but it looks like that news may be slowing down in the near future. J.J. Abrams has expressed his frustration with the number of leaks coming from the Star Wars set, and it’s a safe bet that he’ll be taking a harder line with anyone who appears to be releasing information. It’s not just Abrams that’s been going after the sources of those leaks—Lucasfilm has recently started to crack down as well. A subpoena was issued by a court requiring a user called Darth_Simi to remove some images from Episode VII that he had posted on ImageShack. This is the first legal action that Lucasfilm has taken, and it looks like they’re trying to set a precedent for punishing leakers. Interestingly, there are reports that Abrams has also petitioned Disney to push up the…
Star Wars: The Old Republic: Choose Your Path Trailer
Remember we wrote about the new SWTOR video, BioWare were teasing about the other day? Well.. here it is. The video is just a minute long, and showes a mashup of the Sith Warrior storyline: from class stories to Makeb to SoR and a scene towards the end that is new. (It has a couple of cutscenes from FPs and WZs thrown in.) Heavy emphasis on LS vs DS choices. No new announcements. However, the new scene features Theron Shan in it: he may be back in a new update. The video was obvius made as a promotion to get more people to play the game, and not as a video for existing players. Check it out below: Watch the new Choose Your Path gameplay trailer and be the legendary hero or epic villain in your own Star Wars™ adventure in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™!
SWTOR 3.1 Flashpoint GUIDE: COMMANDER MOKAN – HM Battle of Rishi Bonus Boss
This is Vulkk’s Video Guide on the Bonus Boss in Battel of Rishi Hard Mode Flashpoint. In this relatively short fight we have quite a few mechanics, which are all simple, yet very deadly if not performed 100% correctly. Commander Mokan is one of the best boss encounters inside a Flashpoint Bioware have designed since the first and original version of Lost Island in early 2012. If you have different tactics or suggestions for players, who have not yet done this, share them in the comments below. The boss is not something unseen, but is a fresh and interesting encounter compared to all the other tank and spank opponents. It can be done in many different class combinations and is one of the few very well designed and balanced fights. It may not have an awesome 100% loot drop, but is worth doing just for the achievement and the good feeling…

Anyways… Check it out: A little late than it usually is, the latest pack opening video is here, with special guest R3DN4 (from the Ootinicast) being in the pack intro!
Will The Old Republic Be Canon in Star Wars? Interview w/ Drew Karpyshyn
Who knows more about Star Wars canon and games than Drew Karpyshyn? In this great interview, Drew talks about canon and his experience writing about Star Wars, Darth Bane writing and more. This 40-minute interview is a good listen and is well worth the time to hear what Drew has to say about upcoming Star Wars books and what other things he has been up to lately. Drew has a bit of a reputation as being “The Old Republic guy” when it comes to writing so the interview also explores the question of “Will The Old Republic be canon in Star Wars”? Here’s a really great interview from schmoesknow that answers a lot of great questions about the Star Wars universe. Check out the video for yourself here: “Kristian is back with another Star Wars video. This time he sits down to chat with the author of Darth Bane as well…

Courtney Woods Leaves the SWTOR Community team
Courtney Woods Leaves the SWTOR Community team to become a writer for BioWare. It’s unclear what game she will be writing on, but it is a big step up for Courtney Woods. This isn’t goodbye… 02.13.2015, 11:56 AM Almost four(!) years ago, I joined the SWTOR Community team. Developer Blog: One Night in the Dealer’s Den
BioWare posted a new roplaying developer post at the official website. In case you are wondering who Jonas Balkar is, he is from the Trooper’s class story. This is the SIS agent that Havok Squad teams up with a lot. Below is a thoroughly entertaining read. I love the idea of Balkar being this annoyance that Theron can’t get rid of. Check it out: Theron Shan sat shackled to a jukebox in one of the backrooms of the Dealer’s Den. The air was stuffy, smelling of body odor and spilled drinks. His lip was swollen from the first punch of the evening and he counted at least two broken ribs. In retrospect, all of this was inevitable. He could blame the Twi’lek who had falsely accused him of cheating at sabacc, or even his Houk captor, but they were merely side effects, a consequence of a larger mistake. No, there was only…

Mel Brooks confirms he wants to make “Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money”!
Remember the hilarious classic parody of Star Wars, Spaceballs? After nearly thirty years since its debut, Mel Brooks has said that he is interested in making a sequel called, Spaceballs 2: The Search for More Money. While Star Wars fans all over the world are excited and constantly hearing new rumors about the new Star Wars movie, Mr. Brooks recently said that he would like to create the sequel after the release of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Mel Brooks was recently on a podcast with Adam Carolla, called Take a Knee, and this is when he said what the title would be and his wishes are to use as many of the same cast members as possible. This won’t be an easy task since some of the major characters have passed away. Another problem that Mr. Brooks might encounter is that of hiring Rick Moranis to play his original…

SWTOR Mount Flourish coming soon
BioWare will be adding a new feature called Mount Flourish. This feature will only affect the moutns that will be released in the future, and not existing ones. Mount Flourish | 02.12.2015, 05:37 PM Hey folks, As Tait alluded to, we have a PTS patch coming today at 1:30PM CST. I am posting to let you know about a new keybinding that you may find and what it means. Under keybinds, and movement, you will find that CTRL+Z is now bound to something called Mount Flourish. What this does, is upon using that binding it will have a special effect on some mounts. Think of it kind of akin to holstering your weapon, or using /special. This will not affect any existing mounts, it is going into the game to affect some mounts coming out in the future. We will have more information around those when they are closer to…

SWTOR Side-Scrolling
Who remembers the GameBoy Advance? We might be showing our ages here but I actually still have mine. That used to be one of my most prized possessions, I admit it. Anyway, imagine if we had SWTOR for the GBA? It might look something like this side-scrolling version below.
