SWTOR Conquest Changes in Fallen Empire

The removal of Nightmare Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace, isn’t the only news BioWare have for us today.  Players can expect some conquest changes in the upcoming expansion. Conquest Changes in Fallen Empire | 09.08.2015, 04:32 PM Hey folks, In Fallen Empire we will be making changes to Conquests so I wanted to let you know about what is being adjusted. One thing that we noticed in looking at Conquests is that not as many players as we would hope are completing their personal targets. We feel this may be because the targets are too high, requiring more time to complete than many players may have available. Because of this we are adjusting the target points for rewards in some Conquests: All Conquests which previously required 35,000 target points have had that target number reduced to 20,000. Titans of Industry will remain at 25,000 target points. Total Galactic War will remain…

SWTOR: EV and KP Nightmare Removal in Fallen Empire

BioWare is removing Nightmare Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace  with the launch of  Knights of the Fallen Empire: EV and KP Nightmare Removal in Fallen Empire | 09.08.2015, 04:24 PM Hey folks, Around launch when we implemented the Nightmare versions of Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace, they were not quite the same as the Nightmare modes you are used to now. Basically, those old Nightmare ops were simply the same Operations with more health, that did more damage. With the changes we are making in Fallen Empire, all Operations will now be at max level, this means the differences between Hard and Nightmare EV and KP, just don’t stack up against the difficulty differences found in other Operations. Because of this, we are going to be removing Nightmare Mode Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace from the game with the launch of Fallen Empire. This will raise a couple of questions…

Get a First Glimpse of the Battle of Jakku in Star Wars Battlefront

We are excited about giving a visual glimpse of The Battle of Jakku, which is coming to Star Wars: Battlefront on December 1st for everyone who pre-orders, and a week later for the rest. The Battle of Jakku was the pivotal moment when the New Republic confronted important Imperial holdouts on a faraway desert planet. The Battle of Jakku will be set during the aftermath of the Rebel victory during the Battle of Endor. Players will get to experience the events that made this massive and battle-scarred landscape of Jakku. The artwork posted above shows a Star Destroyer that has crash landed, and front the belly of this battle-scarred metal giant, a large group of Imperial ground troops have engaged with Rebel troops. The intensity of the battle was the main aspect that DICE Concept Artist Anton Grandert wanted to capture when he created the Jakku artwork. The difference in…

Game Update 4.0 Class Changes: Jedi Knight + Sith Warrior

BioWare posted a new developer blog for SWTOR highlighting the changes for Jedi Knight and Sith Warrior coming in game update 2.4:Knights of the Fallen Empire. Game Update 4.0 Class Changes: Jedi Knight + Sith Warrior 09.04.2015 Hi everyone! Thanks for reading our first installment of Class Change blogs that we will be releasing leading up to the release of Knights of the Fallen Empire. This week, we are going to talk about the quintessential Star Wars™ champions: Jedi Knights and Sith Warriors. In Game Update 4.0, we wanted to increase the mobility of these formidable combatants in order to allow them to realize their full potential on the battle field, and to make them more difficult to kite. The new Knight/Warrior ability – Blade Blitz/Mad Dash – emphasizes this design intention, and Knight/Warrior players will find that they have an easier time staying on target while in combat. Below…

Battlefront: is It or is It Not Like Battlefield?

Star Wars: Battlefront is definitely one of the most hyped and eagerly awaited games out there, and with more and more in-game footage becoming available as the November 17-20 release date draws near, it is apparently great at generating controversy too already. Among the fans who can hardly wait to get their hands on the title, there are players concerned that despite all the hype to the contrary, the game will end up being a re-skin of Battlefield. DICE and EA have repeatedly sought to alleviate such concerns, even during the early stages of development, when they made it clear that the teams working on the two projects would be completely separate and there would be as little co-inspiration as possible. Nevertheless, a couple of days ago, DICE General Manager Patrick Bach saw the need to come forth again and reassure the community that the two games would be as…

Star Wars: Rogue One May Bring Back A Key Character With CGI Magic

The late English actor’s villainous Grand Moff Tarkin is set up to appear once again in the spin-off, however the actor’s footwear habits means that there will not be any footage of his feet. Peter Cushing will be brought back from the grave via CGI to play the Star Wars villain Grand Moff Tarkin in the spin-off Rogue One, according to the Mail. The newspaper’s source also suggests that Gareth Edwards’ film, which is based prior to the events of the 1977s Star Wars, will show Tarkin’s role during the “creation” of Darth Vader. “This is one of the most complex and costly CGI re-creations ever,” the source said. “Cushing is a pivotal plot line as he was the one to create Darth Vader and there’s a whole back story that will come out.” There is one major issue with the CGI resurrection for Cushing, who passed in 1994. He…

The Balance of the Force. Who is the true master of the light and dark? That is a very good question for Star Wars fans everywhere and this versus video attempts to answer that, complete with some background on each character and a timeline of events of progression. This Versus video, just over 30 minutes runtime, explains the background of Revan and Marek, including how they came into power, how they changed over time and other life and background info. Star Wars Battlefront Classes in LEGO Form

Okay, regular readers know what a big LEGO fan I am. There are few things I love more than LEGO Star Wars so I found this pretty cool and had to share it with you. You can see from the images below that another fan created some Star Wars Battlefront classes out of minifigs. They’re pretty spot on with what the real classes would look like and the builder had a fine eye for detail when it comes to getting these right. battle front classes Here we have seven images that depict the Star Wars Battlefront classes. There’s the Clone Trooper, Heavy Trooper, Sharpshooter, Engineer, Clone Commander, and Jet Trooper. The Jet Trooper’s gun isn’t exactly spot on since it should be a little bit wider but we think he did awesome with what he had to work with. You could probably also do Rebels and Stormtroopers if you wanted…

Do You Save Your Game Boxes?

A player posted this on Imgur and got me thinking about something: Do you still have your original SWTOR case? I very clearly remember the countdown for the game. Some of you will know already that we spent years here writing about SWTOR even before the launch so it was a very exciting time to finally have the game coming out. Looking back on that game box image makes me think of those early days and the anticipation, combined with our excitement to finally be playing the game. It also brings up some thoughts about game boxes in general. The topic of SWTOR game cases/boxes reminds me of a conversation I was having with a good friend recently. We were reminiscing on how we always saved our video game boxes back in the day. I had Collector’s Editions of everything I played when it was offered and I often kept the boxes…
