While the subject hasn’t been touched in a number of months, it’s worth noting that we have written about the game of Pazaak in the past. And in doing so, we’ve mentioned briefly that it shares some common themes with one of the more popular card games played in our galaxy: blackjack. It’s true that there are several very similar concepts shared by the two, such as the fact that you never want to go over a certain amount—20 in Pazaak and 21 in blackjack—and that the stakes are often pretty high. It’s true that there are tales of games of Pazaak that don’t include some form of gambling, but they quickly walked into that more competitive territory as its popularity grew. That all being said, it’s actually another game in the Star Wars universe that has ties to both Pazaak and blackjack: Sabacc. Before diving into Sabacc and its…
Rumor: First Footage from Visceral’s Untitled Star Wars Game to Debut at E3 2015?
A new untitled Visceral Star Wars game is guessed to be third person and about a young Han Solo. Since the news of this, a new report has come in that the first footage from the game could be released soon. Now that everyone knows the trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront will happening in less than 10 days during the Star Wars celebration, it has given fans time to wonder about the new Star Wars game currently being developed by Visceral. According to a source, the wait will not be long and should be revealed during this year’s E3. E3 will be happening at the LA Convention Center, from June 16th-18th. The Electronic Entertainment Expo is the largest annual trade fair only for video and computer games and their industry. The expo is presented by Entertainment Software Association, or ESA for short. Many video game creators and publishers attend to…
Obi-Wan Kenobi vs Darth Malgus 3-Part Series
The negotiator versus the warlord. Who will come out on top? Strength and resilience, or defense and pacifism? In his Versus Series, Antoine Bandele asks this question and presents a possible answer. The part YouTube series is part of the very popular Versus Series that has pit characters such as Vader vs Voldermort and Anakin Skywalker vs Galen Marek together in a duel. Then there was one of my personal favorites: Darth Sidious vs Jar Jar Binks. The videos are very well done, some are silly and some are serious, but all will keep your interest. So up today, we want to show you the three-part series of Obi-Wan vs Darth Malgus. Check them out below and let us know if you agree with the ending. Part 1: Part 2: Part 3: So there you have it! After that exciting conclusion, tell us your thoughts. Do you agree? Disagree? How would you have…
Top Five Best iOS Star Wars Games
In light of the Star Wars films all coming out on digital release this week, TouchArcade has compiled a list of their favorite five iOS Star Wars games. I’m not a big Apple fan myself, as an Android phone owner, but we have iPods in our house and I have tried most of these myself. I love pinball and of course KoTR for mobile is a win. I appreciate all of the LEGO Star Wars series and since this one is free, you can’t beat it. What other great Star Wars iOS games are there and did they make the list? Their picks? Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions, Free Star Wars®: Knights of the Old Republic™, $9.99 Star Wars™ Pinball 3, $1.99 LEGO® Star Wars™: The Complete Saga, Free Star Wars: Commander, Free Head on over to their post to read why each one made their list and to get…
Euan Morton (male Inquisitor) Narrates STAR WARS Tarkin
Now here is a voice that might sound a bit familiar to you. The audio book STAR WARS Tarkin is narrated by Euan Morton, the same guy who make the voice for male Inquisitor in SWTOR. How cool is that little nerd fact? Here’s a little sound bite for you: Now Tarkin is written by James Luceno, who is a champion of the Dark Heroes in the Expanded Universe and has a number of stories out including Dark Lord: The Rise of Darth Vader and Darth Plague. Tarkin is a great character and one interesting thing about the story is that the Force is not a part of it at all. While the Dark vs. Light theme is prevalent in Star Wars, it’s also nice to see interesting, compelling stories that don’t overplay these concepts. Tarkin is a story that you’ll likely find yourself getting lost in and it makes sense now why Morton was…
The Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens Books Available for Pre-Order
We were pretty excited to hear that there were going to be at least 20 new Star Wars books, ranging from novels to sticker books, coming out this fall. And now they’re here—the first pre-orders are available! Not all of the books have been announced yet, but it’s clear that Disney is placing a heavy emphasis on filling fans in on what happened between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. In addition to the Marvel comic series we discussed earlier, Shattered Empire, we can now see a few more titles. Chuck Wendig’s Aftermath presents an intriguing cover, with “The war is not over” emblazoned on the cover. Looks like Disney’s rewriting the canon quite a bit (we had some idea that this was the case when we saw Stormtroopers in the trailer, but this lends even more credence to the idea). The book’s description also contains the line “And while the Rebel Alliance engages the fractured…
Disney Launches Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions.
You know how we love to talk about Star Wars games! Well, there is a new one coming from Disney, with the help of Kanata and we’re not sure what to make of it yet. It’s too early to tell but we definitely like Here are some details: Star Wars lovers and game creators at Kanata company Gigataur celebrated the launch of the newest Star Wars game on March 27, after working with Disney for 16 months to create it. The mobile gaming company, formerly Glitchsoft, secured a contract to make the game alongside Disney animators and writers, resulting in Star Wars Rebels: Recon Missions. The game, based on Disney’s new digitally animated TV show, Star Wars Rebels, is set five years before Luke Skywalker meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, and focuses on rebels opposing the tyranny of the Empire. Coming out nine months before the anticipated release of the new Star…

The Pan European Game Information board (PEGI) has some news about the release of two games fro the PS3. Rumor has it these are re-releases of two classic Star Wars games. Stevivor tells us: Assumedly heading to the PS3 under the PlayStation Classics range are Star Wars: Starfighter and Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter, both recently reclassified by PEGI. Both titles were originally released on PS2 and Xbox. The original Jedi Starfighter had some interesting features and upgrades. Here are some points from LucasArts when the game first released. Great news for fans who have been waiting for the Star Wars movies to finally release on digital platforms. They’re coming to iTunes as well as Xbox and Playstation this Friday. There are also supposed to be some new special features for each movie with these new digital releases. For example, the theatrical cut of the podrace from The Phantom Menace is available. The first six movies will all be available on iTunes for $19.99 each starting on Friday, April 10th. You can only buy them, and they’re the same editions as on the Blu-ray versions of the movies. They are also coming to Xbox and the Playstation. CinemaBlend explains: Sony kept its Star Wars announcement brief, limited to a single tweet that simply reads: “All six Star Wars films are coming to PlayStation Video April 10! You’re overdue for a marathon anyway.” The folks over in the Xbox camp, however,…
Four of the Best Star Wars Cameos in Non-Star Wars Video Games
Star Wars video games are great, but they aren’t the only place that your favorite Star Wars characters show up! You might be surprised to find out that you can play as Yoda, Darth Maul, Han Solo, Darth Vader, and Jango Fett in other video games. Here are a few of my favorites. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater In Pro Skater 3, you can unlock Darth Maul as a skater, and Pro Skater 4 includes Jango Fett. Use the power of the Dark Side to take your skateboarding to the next level! Darth Maul keeps his lightsaber at the ready and uses the Force to help him out with some tricks, and you can see here that Jango uses his jetpack as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3msAX-31Ec There’s reportedly another Pro Skater in the works, so hopefully we’ll see some more Star Wars characters in the next one, too. Soulcaliber IV What better kind of game to feature Star Wars characters than…

More on Star Wars: Battlefront April 16-19 at The Star Wars Convention?
As we’ve been anxiously awaiting the release of Star Wars Battlefront this year, we’ve heard next to nothing about it. EA has been very tight-lipped about the details of the game and the progression of the release. It’s possible that EA has been quiet about Battlefront in part due to the late release of Hardline that ran into March. Whatever the reasoning, there is a very good chance we will get some great new info about the game and some fans might even have the opportunity to playtest coming up soon. EA showed Battlefront gameplay footage to retail partners recently and there’s a good chance consumers might see more of it soon. The official Star Wars Convention in Anaheim, California happens on April 16-19 and this would be the perfect time to give some gameplay action and reveals of the game to consumers. EA also told us the “first look”…

Developer Blogs: Regrets
BioWare posted a new story blog post leading up to next patch update. This one is titled Regrets: Jace Malcom pulled at the cuff of his sleeve. Living most of his life in uniform, he was used to things fitting a certain way. The leather jacket previously hiding in the back of his closet was tight around the shoulders and out of style, judging from the upturned noses of the restaurant’s other clientele. Despite his position as Supreme Commander, Jace generally didn’t frequent establishments in the Senate District, preferring a more casual atmosphere. However, Thranta’s Respite was known to serve an authentic roast gorak, a dish he’d grown fond of from his time on Alderaan. He hoped the food was better than the decor. The Killik-silk tablecloths and delicately carved oro wood menus were overshadowed by gaudy holographic vistas of the Alderaanian country-side. All pre-civil war of course. Jace exhaled and…
