thenoobistcolony has uploaded one of the best free credits guide I have seen so far. In this guide he goes through how to make money on the galactic trade network by using alts. This guide covers all the basic stuff in Auction house domination as we know it from the early mmorpg’s This SWTOR Galactic Trade Network Guide should help you to be successful at the good ol’ auction house (GTN for now). The GTN can be fun and rewarding… but it can also be annoying at times. Using the auction house is pretty common sense, but a lot of people get into trouble by being impatient or by trying to make “quick” gold. In this guide I’ll give you information on making gold from selling:
Taris Datacron Locations
Taris was an urban planet in the Outer Rim Territories. The term Tarisian was used to describe people and products from the planet. The planet’s ecumenopolis quickly developed over a century of prosperity, and as a result the planet suffered from massive overpopulation. Once a galactic nexus, Taris‘ importance declined with the introduction of improved trade routes, and the planet rapidly fell into decay. The remainder of the planet’s history was wrought with civil disorder and social unrest. As it turned to industry as a means of compensation for its economic troubles, its oceans became polluted, eliminating the planet’s main food source. Famine spread among the lower classes while the rich hoarded what few supplies remained. The resulting strife led to the Tarisian Civil War, the start of lasting prejudices between the Humanocentric Tarisian nobles and the largely alien underclass. The city became segmented, and the lower classes were banned…

Ord Mantell Datacron Locations
Ord Mantell was a planet in the Bright Jewel Cluster. It was located near Anobis in the Mid Rim. It was originally settled in 12,000 BBY as an Ordnance/Regional Depot. During the Cold War in 3,653 BBY, a corrupt admiral sold off the local fleet, and so the military all but abandoned the planet, leading to the lawlessness Ord Mantell eventually became known for, and the haven for mercenaries, exiles, murderers and smugglers. After the Treaty of Coruscant, the corrupt local government decided to stay loyal to the republic, however separatist residents attempted to break away. This lead to an armed civil war in an attempt to achieve independence, and a military buildup assisted by local government supported crime syndicates and Galactic Republic forces destabilized the world further. Interview with Stephen Reid
TotalBiscuit (The Cynical Brit) Interviews Stephen Reid from Bioware. In the interview they talk about the launch issues with SWTOR, queues and a bit on their future plans. An interesting interview with some hefty background PVP action. The interview is quite long, but really important what he talks about from 20 minutes onward. Basically saying that they’re not going to take WoW’s approach of, “if you’re bored, go roll on alt,” but instead keep building on your main character’s storyline. Good to hear that.
Coruscant Datacron Locations
The Galactic Center of Coruscant (pronounced /’kʊɹəsɑnt/), originally called Notron, also known as Imperial Center or the Queen of the Core, was the political hub of the galaxy for millennia. At various times, it was the capital of the Galactic Republic, the Galactic Empire, the New Republic, briefly the Empire Reborn, the New Republic again, the Yuuzhan Vong Empire occupation, the Galactic Alliance, the Fel Empire and Darth Krayt’s Galactic Empire. TOR TV: Slicing Tutorial = Easy Credit’s
Here is a quick tutorial for you on Slicing. Slicing is one of the four Gathering Skills which involves accessing secured computer systems and lockboxes to acquire valuable data and rare schematics. aikiwoce from reddit did a pretty need guide on Maximizing Slicing Returns. You can read it below the video. Basically try to stick to these 4 rules while slicing: 1. Try not to queue anything less than a Bountiful Yield mission. Even Bountiful Yield missions 2 or more tiers below your current one have higher yields than moderate/abundant ones at your current slicing level. The mission Yields go Wealthy (discovery purple) > Prosperous (discovery blue) > Rich & Bountiful & Abundant & Moderate. Mission Discoveries for slicing don’t seem to pay off, so avoid unless you want augments. 2. If you don’t have a Bountiful or Rich Yield Mission available, queue a lower class mission. 3. Try to stagger…
The Sith Inquisition: Is That Fear I Smell?
Greetings Sithizens, Launch has happened. The galaxy has felt the scarring power that the Dark Side brings, cleansing weak from strong and enslaving those that no longer can stand for themselves. The Sith Inquisition has begun organizing to purge the last remnants of Jedi from the Republic and solidify our unquestioned victories throughout the Empire and Republic. Throughout all this, we have been active on both our twitter and youtube channels posting starship loads full of content and news, you’ll find links to both at the bottom of the channel. We come here today to discuss one major topic with you, and that is fear. Fear is our tool, one that the weak Jedi ignore, feel is too vile and corrupting for their own good. This opinion piece doesn’t touch on Jedi or Sith, but on competing companies against Bioware and EA. Through our research and thanks in part to…
BioWare founder updates us on the server Queue issues
Dr. Gren Zeschuk – Co-founder of BioWare – Made a forum post today regarding what’s being done about the queue times on some servers. BioWare is well aware of the problems and doing what ever they can to deal with it: Hey folks, as you may likely have seen in the last 24 hours, we’ve been redoubling our efforts in optimally managing the time it takes to get into Star Wars: The Old Republic. The BioWare Live Team has been carefully watching the influx of players into the game and is addressing with surgical precision the longer wait times on the small number of servers that were having longer wait times previously. We’ve also being doing our best to get every little bit of possible performance on our servers to increase capacity: we’ve “turned them up to 11” to do our very best to get you in and playing as quickly as…
Congratulations to Lisa
Yesterday, our always hyper active staff writer Lisa gave birth to a baby boy. Both mom and and boy is doing fine. I’m not posting any pictures as I don’t have Lisa’s permission to do so yet – she is still in hospital. Congratulations to Lisa from the rest of us here at swtorstrategies.com some other random kid that came up when I googled baby
TOR TV: How to be a Better Raider
The guild Section Eight have started a little youtube series, where they run through each flashpoint, and talk about raiding, flashpoints, and how to play your role in the game. These videos are great for beginners, and people who are new to raiding. Those who are experienced hardcore raiders probably won’t learn as much, but they still might enjoy the content. Anywho, take a look, and let us know what you think!
Star Wars: The Old Republic TV Ad
If you haven’t caught it yet, there is a really fun and interesting SWTOR TV ad out for you to see. Maybe you hate watching TV, always skip the commercials or maybe it won’t be airing in your country. But don’t worry if you haven’t seen it yet because your friends online have your back. The ad is on YouTube and we are happy to bring it right here to you for your viewing pleasure. It’s a fun little video. I showed it to my mom who wants to play the game even more now and while it’s made up of snippets of other cutscenes, it’s still very well done. It will definitely grab the attention of anyone who has yet to play the game or even those few who have not heard of it yet (have they been living under a rock?) So check it out and tell us…
The Guild Sphere: The First Responders
Today I had the chance to talk to David, a 10 year veteran of the Fire Department and currently working as a career Firefighter/Medic in Northern VA. David is the founder of “The First Responders”, a gaming community dedicated to Public Service and Military gamers meaning Firefighters, EMTs, Police and Military. They are a casual raiding guild on SWTOR, WoW and competitive on XBox with many accomplishments to their credit. They have won many tournaments and do very well in MMOs. They are currently on Iron Citadel, PvP East on the Republic. Check it out below. Where did your guilds name come from? As a guild that caters to members of the Public Safety (Fire, Rescue and Police) and Military Service we needed a name that could fit any of these different areas. The First Responders was chosen as the best name that could represent everyone because it is at the core of what we…
SWTOR Australia/New Zealand Official Launch Announced
On December 20, 2011 when SWTOR launched to Europe and the United States, big news hit Australia and New Zealand. SWTOR made an official announcement confirming the launch of the game to those regions in 2012. So if you are an Aussie who’s been waiting to hear if you will get SWTOR, the time has finally come. Here’s what Stephen Reid had to say on the official forums: “We can confirm that Star Wars: The Old Republic will be launching in Australia and New Zealand in the spring of 2012. Right now we are targeting March 1st, but that could change as our number one priority is making sure that customers have a great service to play on. For those of you who may have already imported the game, we will be investigating solutions to allow you to continue to play on a local server once they come online in…
Daniel Erickson interview
Ryan and Jeff from Giant Bomb did a really good interview with Lead Writer Daniel Erickson on Everything from from queues, instancing to LS/DS permanence. Daniel is great at doing these interviews, as I personally would jump up and punch Jeff for constantly interrupting me. Remember to listen to the part around 11:15 -12:15 as it is pretty much cut and paste what was happening on forums and websites as people were hearing about the game for the first time, and I still see people expressing concern that they’ll just be playing a single-player game presumably because “it’s Bioware.”””
Star Wars’ universe is getting a lot bigger Says USA Today
For those people out there who have yet to hear about SWTOR, USA Today brought them the news this morning in a feature piece about the very popular MMORPG. According to their report by Mike Snider, “That disturbance in the Force is millions of voices crying out in delight as they join the battle of Jedi vs. Sith in Star Wars: The Old Republic, a huge new online game and universe.” While regulars to this site already know about SWTOR, it’s great to see a mainstream media source reporting on the game and its popularity on launch day. First, they tell us a little about BioWare: “The Edmonton, Alberta-based developers are hardly video-game padawans. BioWare’s recent role-playing successes include series such as the fantasy Dragon Age and the sci-fi saga Mass Effect. And the company has a history with the Star Wars universe, having developed 2003’s Knights of the Old…
Hands On with SWTOR: Natalie Shoemaker and PC Mag SWTOR Review
For five years we have waited for this game. We were not waiting alone. Natalie Shoemaker of PC Mag has been waiting as well and now that the big day has finally arrived, she’s sharing her hands on experience with the Internet world. She starts us off with an overview (for those who might still not know much about the game, yet): “The company has set lofty (read: expensive) goals for itself: A fully voiced game complete with cut scenes. BioWare also hasn’t left SWTOR without the company’s signature touch for creating involved storylines for each character class, as well as dialogue options and a moral choice system that affects certain outcomes of your game (though it’s currently uncertain how much in SWTOR).” She then tells us about some of the basics of SWTOR and what you can expect from the game. Again, basic info for those of us who…
Game Hunters USA Today brings us Interview with BioWare Doctors
SWTOR is big news these days and with the launch of Star Wars: The Old republic – we heard about it all from all directions. USA Today’s Game Hunters had a fantastic interview with BioWare doctors Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka about the game and its development. The article by Mike Snider would draw interest to even those who have not already bought the game. First, they talk a little about the undertaking and the development process for SWTOR. Then they tell us about how big of a project this is for BioWare, something that those of us who have been following the game for years definitely know already. Muzyka says “It is probably bigger in content than all prior BioWare games put together. The volume of content is going to give players a ton of different things to do and many different kinds of activities, too, so it’s really…
