Whether a player is here for the story or to take on the most powerful challenges in the galaxy, we want there to be something a player can look forward to that makes their characters stronger. Legacy of the Sith (7.0) will be reintroducing the vertical progression path for gearing. This type of progression is not new to the game; however, 7.0 will offer players new experiences and ways to obtain gear. Within a…

3 Planets We’re Expecting to See in The Last Jedi

We’ve finally stopped watching the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi on a loop. The trailer – released to satisfy fans’ eager excitement until the December 2017 release date and ticket sales – threw up more questions than it answered. From the circumstances surrounding Carrie Fisher’s General Leia Organa’s exit following the actress’s untimely death in late 2016 to the fate of Kylo Ren. While some fans were also quick to point out that the poster design resembled the face of Star Wars legendary villain Darth Vader. But we have one other burning question: which planets are we likely to see in the film and how will this impact the spate of games that follow it? One of the most exciting aspects of Star Wars Battlefront and Battlefront 2 is the variety of locations from the Star Wars canon that allow us a new planet to explore and battle…

How to Look like Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens in SWTOR

Even if you have not seen the new Star Wars film yet (what rock have you been living under?), you are probably familiar with Captain Phasma. We’ve seen her in a great deal of marketing promotions for Episode 7. She’s the silver-clad Stormtrooper who is seen as Kylo Ren’s right-hand man. She’s 6 foot 5 inches of badness. The actress who plays her, Gwendoline Christie, is 6’3″. You may recognize her as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, or as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. © 2015 – Lucasfilm If you’re fond of Captain Phasma, SWTORISTA gives us the breakdown of how to recreate the look in SWTOR, despite the fact the movie is set thousands of years after Star Wars: The Old Republic. Here in this article, she explains exactly how to do it and we think it’s pretty cool. Here’s a snippet: Captain Phasma…

Introducing the Alliance System in SWTOR

BioWaer Designer Matt Pucevich posted a detailed blog on the alliance system within Star Wars: The old Republic, Knights of the fallen Empire. Companion characters have always been a big part of our personal stories, and with the upcoming release of the new Digital Expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, comes an even deeper focus on characters and storytelling. For this reason it only makes sense that we would seek to include our beloved friends (especially the ship droids!!) in that experience. Knights of the Fallen Empire has given us an excellent opportunity to take stock of…

With a ton of different voice actors using their talents, it won’t be surprising to once in a while find yourself thinking, “Where have I heard that voice before?” So many have done that often and we have a list of some of the largest celebrities and actors who are behind the characters in the SWTOR community since 2012. Jennifer Hale: Female Trooper and Satele Shan Jennifer Hale is best-known in the video gaming world for being the voice behind FemShep in all of the amazing Mass Effect games, but she has also made her mark…
