This thread is meant to give you a few more details on some of the things that will be happening in KOTET, along with being a place that I can address questions or concerns you have with these changes. First, here are the details on how gearing will work at level 70: Once you hit level 70, the source of end-game gear will be Command Crates from Galactic Command. How to Look like Captain Phasma from The Force Awakens in SWTOR

Even if you have not seen the new Star Wars film yet (what rock have you been living under?), you are probably familiar with Captain Phasma. We’ve seen her in a great deal of marketing promotions for Episode 7. She’s the silver-clad Stormtrooper who is seen as Kylo Ren’s right-hand man. She’s 6 foot 5 inches of badness. The actress who plays her, Gwendoline Christie, is 6’3″. You may recognize her as Brienne of Tarth in Game of Thrones, or as Commander Lyme in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2. © 2015 – Lucasfilm If you’re fond of Captain Phasma, SWTORISTA gives us the breakdown of how to recreate the look in SWTOR, despite the fact the movie is set thousands of years after Star Wars: The Old Republic. Here in this article, she explains exactly how to do it and we think it’s pretty cool. Here’s a snippet: Captain Phasma…

Introducing the Alliance System in SWTOR

BioWaer Designer Matt Pucevich posted a detailed blog on the alliance system within Star Wars: The old Republic, Knights of the fallen Empire. Check it out: 10.20.2015 Introducing the Alliance System Be it the cheeky Astromech Droid, the stalwart Wookiee partner-in-crime, the ambitious upstart apprentice that is yours alone to mold, or any of the other 40-odd characters found in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ to-date; we all know and love our Companions (especially the chronically under-appreciated ship droids!). Companion characters have always been a big part of our personal stories, and with the upcoming release of the new Digital Expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, comes an even deeper focus on characters and storytelling. For this reason it only makes sense that we would seek to include our beloved friends (especially the ship droids!!) in that experience. Knights of the Fallen Empire has given us an excellent opportunity to take stock of…

Ten well known voice actors behind SWTOR characters

When Star Wars: The Old Republic first launched it became one of the biggest video game voice-over projects that BioWare or any gaming studio had ever done. It consisted of over 200,000 lines of dialogue that was voiced by more than 200 actors, and with each new expansion and mansion this number has grown. With a ton of different voice actors using their talents, it won’t be surprising to once in a while find yourself thinking, “Where have I heard that voice before?” So many have done that often and we have a list of some of the largest celebrities and actors who are behind the characters in the SWTOR community since 2012. Jennifer Hale: Female Trooper and Satele Shan Jennifer Hale is best-known in the video gaming world for being the voice behind FemShep in all of the amazing Mass Effect games, but she has also made her mark…

Game Update 4.0 New Feature: Keybinding Importing and Exporting

Star Wars: The old Republic – Knights of the fallen empire is coming with a cool new feature.  With the new game update, players will be able to import and export their keybings. How cool is that? Game Update 4.0 New Feature: Keybinding Importing and Exporting | 09.21.2015, 09:13 AM One feature I pretty consistently see requested is the ability to copy your keybindings from one character to another, so I’m happy to say with the release of 4.0 you’ll be able to do just that. When 4.0 launches you’ll notice a new tab in the preference window labeled “Keybinding Import/Export” from there you’ll be able to save out your current keybindings to a file which you can then load on another character. When you save the keybinding they’ll show up in a list which you can then select to preview and load those saved bindings. The list of keybindings…

SWTOR’s Senior Producer Bruce Maclean has released the teams Producer’s Road Map for 2015. If you ahve been following our blog, there ain’t much new info, as most of this stuff, as it is basically just a write down of the letter that was read at the last Cantina Event with no new details or teasers. Most of the community that is concerned about future content probably already knew all this but I guess this makes it “official”… Producer’s Road Map 2015 Hi everyone! For many, the start of the year is a time for setting goals and planning for the future. This is something we have been focused on here at BioWare Austin. 2014 was an amazing year for the team. New Friends of SWTOR Program Live (New Rewards)

The new and improved “Friends Of SWTOR Program” is now live with great new rewards! Rewards are retroactive even though they said this would not be the case – which is awesome. What is less awesome is the   “within 14 days of signing up” limitation on getting your rewards. Some people referred friends at the launch of the Hutt Cartel expansion but they were unable to play it due to school/work/etc. Now that they’re able to actually play and have the desire to subscribe, I find that I won’t be getting anything for telling them about this game since it’s WAY past 14 days. I guess it’s not too bad though. I’d rather have people to play with than a bunch of droids. Though that speeder would have been nice… Step 1 – Invite Your Friends As an active Subscriber, you have a personal referral link to send to your friends! Refer friends who…

TIME talks about SWTOR and EA

As we reported this week, EA just got the exclusive rights to publish all Star Wars games in the future. As one of the largest video game company in existence, it’s likely EA had to fork out loads of cash to get this exclusive deal. EA will now have the rights to produce Star Wars games for the “core gaming audience” whereas Disney, who canned developer LucasArts just last month, will retain the rights to design Star Wars games for mobile, social and online gamers. So now that the big news has been announced, it seems everyone has an opinion and Time doesn’t seem to be taking a positive stance on this new relationship. Here’s a snippet from a piece they did that discusses the topic and SWTOR at length: And yet EA has a spotty track record when it comes to franchise tie-ins. Whereas handing a major property off…

SWTOR Legacy Achievement Guide

Don’t forget to check out constantly growing list of guides for Star Wars: The old republic One exciting feature coming to SWTOR in patch 2.0 is the Legacy Achievements. MMORPGs are especially prone to building these new achievements to add more to the game. It’s a popular feature, especially in games in the past 5 years or so. It’s no surprise that SWTOR has them, too but the new update will have Legacy Achievements, meaning you don’t get them on just one character but on all of your characters who share a legacy. The interface for the Legacy Achievements is found in your legacy panel right below the reputation tab. This will allow you to see your progress as you complete tasks. There are seven major categories in which you gain achievements: Companions – Each companion has three achievements to unlock that lets you gain certain amounts of affection with them….

Flashpoint Guide: The Streets of Cademimu

Some of the NPCs in the area are not aggressive so you can just bypass them but you’ll notice that a lot of them are fighting each other. For this reason, you’ll need to move fast and tag them first so you can get your XP points and the loot. You will go up against 3 bosses but to reach the first one, you’ll need to go down the elevator until you reach a green marker. When the elevator stops, the first thing you’ll see is a group of NPCs fighting. You’ll need to run into them to get the instance to update the objective. When you look on your map, you’ll notice that you…

You’ll be asked to board the transport ship the Esseles headed for the capital of Coruscant. Players must be at least a level 10 before you are allowed to enter the transport. While you can go this instance alone, it’s more beneficial if you have at least two players and your companions. Going it alone can be difficult and you will miss the opportunity to fight a bonus boss. It also helps if both players have chosen their advanced class and if one of you is a healer. This is a story based Flashpoint so there’s many cutscenes and dialogue that will earn you social points and there are several bonus missions…
