Eric Musco took on the forums to update the community on the character slots increases post server merge. One of the questions that has come up regarding United Forces is character slots and what will be happening for everyone. After the update, it is possible that a player could have more characters than they have slots currently. For subscribers they will still be able to play all of their characters (even if they go over their slots) but they can’t make any new characters. We wanted to do our best to alleviate some of the issues for not only subscribers, but F2P and preferred status players as well. Here is what you can expect to see changed on November 8 alongside United Forces: F2P players will have a default of 4 characters per server (up from 2) Preferred players will have a default of 12 characters per server(up from 6)…

SWTOR: “The Hot Prospect” is no longer a Hot Prospect…
Due to an Outrage through the SWTOR community, BioWare is renaming “The Hot Prospect” server to “Satele Shan”. So I guess we can start calling her the “Hot Prospect” Hey folks, We have made the decision to rename The Hot Prospect server to Satele Shan. Since we announced the new server names, we have received some concerns from people regarding the name The Hot Prospect. Specifically, that phrase could be taken in slang terms to be derogatory towards certain individuals. We take this very seriously as we would never want to create a situation where someone is made uncomfortable by something such as a server name. We will be updating all of our communications (such as the FAQ and blog) to reflect the new name in the coming days. Thank you for your understanding. -eric

SWTOR Roadmap – The Autumn Update!
SWTOR Game producer Keith Kanneg, just inform the community, that BioWare will be releasing the Autumn update of the roadmap before the NYC Cantina in next month: Hey everyone, I have seen quite a few questions about the status of the Roadmap, both in timing and in content. I know this is more of an announcement of an announcement, but the plan is to deliver the updated version before our October 6th SWTOR Cantina in New York. I also realize I’ve been more quiet this past month, but we’ve been hard at work making sure we avoid the issues we had last month with Game Update 5.4. As a result, we pushed back the release date of Game Update 5.5 to October 10, 2017, and as you’ll find out, we have lots of activity happening every couple weeks. In the Roadmap, I will provide you with exactly what we’re doing through…
SWTOR Game Update 5.5 planned for October 10
Eric Musco just informed the official Star Wars: The old Republic Community that SWTOR Game Update 5.5 will go live on October 10 with some content shuffled into Game Update 5.6. Any update in the Roadmap? What about 5.5? | 09.13.2017, 05:07 PM Provide you with updates, I can! The roadmap is still in progress. We have been shuffling some things around with respect to 5.5 and 5.6 and we need that to settle before we can let you know exactly what is coming and when. It was our plan to put out Game Update 5.5 in late September but we have made the decision to move it into early October (currently 10/10). We did this to allow us more time to focus in on quality for our Game Updates to avoid some of the issues we had with 5.4. Class balance is still planned for 5.5. I expect I will start putting…
CXP and Daily Areas in SWTOR throughout September
Double CXP will return to SWTOR with patch 5.5 and allowing the daily area CXP to stay until 5.5 as well. Check it out: CXP and Daily Areas throughout September | 09.07.2017, 10:22 PM Hey all, Recently, we have had more maintenances than normal. This was compounded by our update issues last Thursday which led to over 10 hours of maintenance. Thursday’s issue along with the extra downtime have impacted all of our playtime, and they especially are bothersome when you consider how much XP and CXP you lost from the Double XP/CXP event was running along with the over the top CXP for Daily Areas. So, to make sure your characters can take advantage from both, here’s what we going to do: Since the Double XP/CXP event ended on Tuesday, we’ve decided to bring it back earlier than planned. That is, we had scheduled to make it available in December around…
Is SWTOR Dead?!
We’ve been publishing on this site for years before SWTOR launched. We were so excited about the game. No one was as pumped as we were. We brought you every rumor, every insider tip, and every breaking news story as soon as we heard about it. Since then, we’ve seen a lot of ups and downs with SWTOR. As you will see, we’re writing about other games here as well, but SWTOR will always be the game that it was all founded upon. So with that in mind, we’ve seen this topic brought up time and time again. Is SWTOR dead or dying? Is anyone still playing? If you were someone who played in the beginning and you’re looking to come back now, is it worth it? Is there anyone still playing or anything to come back to? First, we’re going to give our answer: yes. Yes, there is still…

Game Update 5.4a | 08.31.2017, 11:56 PM Hey everyone, I want to start by apologizing for the unexpected and prolonged downtime today. This isn’t something we ever want to happen, but when it does, we take it seriously and do everything we can to resolve the issue or issues. We are adding additional processes to try and prevent this particular situation from happening again. Here’s essentially what took place today and what’s behind the long downtime: What happened? Wasn’t this tested? The issues we encountered were fairly complex, and having more than one just made things complicated. The first problem was the patch for our BitRaider and SSN launchers were inconsistent and ended up causing different issues after we took the servers out of maintenance. As a result, some of you actually received a game patch, while others didn’t get…

SWTOR: Trading Scars – A Short Story on Umbara
If there is one thing BioWare does right it’s the story. No other MMORPG has the same depth as Star Wars: The old republic, and the team seams to be determent to keep this up. So with a new game update, comes a new story to explore. Here is a short story on Umbara: Veesh was scaring the rookie again. Nira watched as the Umbaran commando glanced to make sure the train compartment was sealed, then pulled back the edge of his sleeve to reveal a series of ugly welts snaking across his wrist. “Got this escorting a shipment last month. Banshee swooped in out of nowhere, right as we were crossing the canyon.” He smirked, his voice muffled by the visor of his helmet. “Latched onto my wrist long enough for the poison to seep in. The medics say I’m lucky to keep my arm.” Nira noticed the rookie…

SWTOR Change to Cartel Color Crystals and Weapon Tunings with Legacy Weapons
SWTOR Game Producer Keith Kanneg, had an interesting statement on the forums today, regarding the changes to legacy weapon color crystals, and weapon tuning swapping. Check it out: Change to Cartel Color Crystals and Weapon Tunings with Legacy Weapons | 07.11.2017, 10:42 PM Hey all, Let’s review today’s Crystals and Weapon Tuning change and what caused it. With Patch 5.2.2, we made a change so everyone could take advantage of the Weapon Tunings across their account. We did that by adding them into Collections. This is the same process we use for Flairs, Armor Sets, Mounts, Crystals, Weapons, Pets, and more. This appeared to be a very welcomed change, but over the past month we found out players were subverting the collection system by using an exploit related to Legacy Weapons. Sure, you can argue it’s been that way for a long time, but Weapon Tunings were new and being able to…

Class Change Feedback in 5.3 and 5.4 | 07.07.2017, 09:18 PM Hey folks, One of the topics we have seen come up a bit in the past couple of weeks is all of your feedback regarding Class changes and what is happening with it. We understand we have not kept you updated on the threads where we posted the Class changes so we want to talk through what happens next and how we will use your feedback. For a multitude of reasons, Class balance is one of the most challenging communication topics. We dislike having to nerf a Class as much as you do, but sometimes we have to do it for the overall health of our game (as we talked about in our “How Class…
