Swtor-mined: 2.8 PTS Patch #2 | 5/8/2014

News from swtor_miner. This time he came up some more information on the new Narshadda Nightlife/Festival of Splendor Event. He found the chances of winning while playing the new slot machines.

Kingpin’s Bounty Slot Machine

Costs 1x Kingpin’s Casino Chip to play
Chances for reward:

  • Jackpot 1 (.07% chance)
    • Kingpin’s Rancor
  • Jackpot 2 (.23% chance)
    • 1x Vectron Opus
  • Win (4% chance)
    • 1x Golden Certificate: A certificate which can be exchanged for special goods from a Nar Shaddaa casino prize vendor.
  • Free Play (50% chance)
  • Lose 1 (22.83% chance)
  • Lose 2 (22.85% chance) – Outcome removed by Feeling Lucky buff.
  • Machine Explodes (.02% chance)

The Feeling Lucky buff removes one of the possible lose outcomes while playing the High Roller Slot Machine, but the relative outcome weights remain the same for the other outcomes. You keep the buff for 2 minutes or until you win or hit the Jackpot. The new probability of winning would approximately be:

    • 1x Vectron Opus
  • Win (5.18% chance)
    • 1x Golden Certificate: A certificate which can be exchanged for special goods from a Nar Shaddaa casino prize vendor.
  • Free Play (64.81% chance)
  • Lose 1 (29.59% chance)
  • Machine Explodes (.026% chance)

    • Feeling Lucky: Greatly increases your chance of winning at the Kingpin’s Bounty Slot machines…
  • Free Play (50% chance)

  • Machine Explodes (.02% chance)

Prizes

Here’s images of all 4 Rancor mounts.

They also added what appears to be a conversation-driven Craps mini-game. And it seems to be unrelated to the new event. You play the game by talking to a Craps dealer which starts the game as a conversation. It looks like you have two chances to pick one of three colors: Red, Blue, and White you think is going to come up on the chance cubes. The dealer then rolls the cubes one at a time. Each outcome has approximately the same probably, so you have a 2 in 9 chance of guessing both correctly. There also seems to be 4 random losing cinematics for this game. Which you’ll probably being doing a lot. No word yet on rewards.

Here’s the raw changes.

New Cartel Market/Collections Images

They added 3 Jawa Engineers to the Cartel Bazaar. These vendors take:

  • Jawa Junk: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.
  • Assorted Droid Parts: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.
  • Scavenged Scrap: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.

In quantities from 1-3 in exchange for almost every crafting material in the game or a Cartel Certificate. (even some deprecated ones from beta…) These are accessible right now on the PTS. What’s interesting is that there are three more token items:

  • Contraband Transistor: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.
  • Dual Laser Engraver: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.
  • Black Market Alloy: Can be traded to Jawa Engineer for specialty goods. Cartel Market vendors can be found in the Cartel Bazaar on the Fleet.

These I don’t know what they’re used for. Or even where they would come from. It could be related to Galactic Strongholds as a way to make sure the market isn’t lacking the necessary lower-level crafting materials. I don’t know.
