Crypto mining and Star Wars? Two vastly different worlds—or are they? The galaxy far, far away has introduced us to countless forms of fictional currencies, while here on Earth, cryptocurrency and mining are revolutionizing our financial systems. The Force might not power blockchains, but the similarities between interstellar credits and real-world mining might surprise you. Let’s take a hyperspace jump into the galactic connection between crypto mining and Star Wars currencies. The Star Wars Economy: Credits, Calamari Flan, and Beyond In the Star Wars universe, money comes in all shapes and forms—from Republic Credits to Mandalorian Beskar Steel. These currencies might not rely on blockchain technology, but they serve the same purpose as our beloved cryptocurrencies: buying ships, droids, or a quick ride to the Outer Rim. 1. Galactic Credits The standard currency of the galaxy, Galactic Credits are widely accepted across most systems. However, their value tends to fluctuate depending on whether you’re dealing with…

Star Wars Battlefront II – Patch 1.2 datamined
Here’s some stuff that was discovered by reddit user Heavyweighsthecrown after spending a few hours in the game’s files with Frosty Editor – a game assets editor that’s also used to manipulate game files for mods. He Spent some hours looking at 3D meshes, cryptic command lines, colorful textures, and files named under some arcane system, and this is what he found… But first, a Disclaimer: I don’t know if people already knew this stuff 100% before this latest patch, or if this is new stuff. Also, everything here can easily be verified if you use Frosty Editor yourself to dive into the game files. There are actually 2 head models named “JangoFett”. But he’s without the helmet, and both look very alike. I don’t think they will be used in future models though. The more detailed head is probably the Clone Officer, and the slightly less detailed one is probably the background clones…

SWTOR Lead Composer Comments on Datamined KOTET Music
That feeling when you post datamined music and then the composer comes along to comment… yeah, that happened. User Jedipedia posted a 1 hour no-spoiler feed of music from KotET and lead composer Jesse Harlin stopped in for a comment. You can see the full thread with links to the music here. Basically, the data mined music files are just the MIDI demos that were later replaced by an actual live performance. Honestly, those demo files don’t sound half bad and they definitely get us excited for the real thing that is coming soon. As for Harlin’s comment: “Hi, SWTOR. Lead composer Jesse Harlin here. Perhaps I can help to give some context on this for you all. This happened last time with KotFE and now it’s happened again with KotET. Just so that everyone knows, these are the rough demos that eventually turn into the final tracks. We headed to Nashville…

Swtor-mined: 2.7PTS New Maps | 3/1/2014
swtor_miner have been playing around with the new patch on the Public test servers and found some more goodies. First image is the Quesh Huttball map. The next two are the departure hangars for the new Flashpoints. (I wonder why there are 5 shuttles…) The rest are of the Tython and Korriban Flashpoints. Check it out below: My best assumption is that they copy pasted the old flashpoint rooms, and so they have 6 total rooms. and can fillup the other 2 when they feel like it. Personally I wouldn’t mind them pushing the rakata prime flashpoint a bit and have a flashpoint where we race against each other to find the Star Maps (multi planet flashpoint) I.e. Start at Korriban. Fight a boss, clicka shuttle takes us to Kysshyyk(pardon spelling) fight the 2nd boss there, jump to Dantooine. etc.

Swtor-mined: 2.6 PTS Patch | 1/21/13
SWTOR-miner have been playing around with game update 2.6 witch is currently being test on the public tests servers. Some nice upgrades to it as well that can…

Swtor-mined: PTS Latest Build Dump | 10/8/2013
SWTOR_Miner is active again with a new data-dump of the lats Public Test Server game patch. It looks like, zero nerfes in this patch to Rage dmg. Snipers can be charged on while in cover, but not while Entrenched. Zero changes to Bounty Hunter classes except the little pruge change. I also see Smash Juggs getting immunity to slows while using Enrage as being the most notable balance change included. I hope they add more changes then this because this will not change much. The data mind info also contains some new in-game posters advertising the upcoming expansion “Galactic Starfighter” Serve our Empire Destroy our Enemies Starfighter Pilots the Empire Needs You Protect the Republic Become a Starfighter Pilot Fly With the Best Sign Up Now Below are the complete data-dump: I’m going to be switching up the format from the normal text to xml. The reason being that it’s about 1000x easier to compare xml elements…
Datamining 2.3 PTS, Bounty Brokers Association Edition
SPOILER ALERT Since this datamine is about the Bounty Hunter, it does contain potential spoilers. Read at your own risk. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at what the SWTOR_miner has for us today: I had some interest in the Bounty Brokers Association details that aren’t currently accessible on the PTS. So here they are. An Event specific macrobinoculars and seeker droid are going to be used for the Kingpin quests. Bounty Seeker Probes – Launches a handful of bounty seeker probes to scan the area for your bounty target. Must be within designated target region Activate your Bounty Seeker Probes within the target region to triangulate the Kingpin bounty’s position. Bounty Seeker Scanner Look through your bounty scanner, allowing you to uplink to your bounty seeker probes and download any information they have gathered concerning your target. Use your Bounty Scanner to pull data from…
Latest 2.3PTS Datamining
We love to bring you data mine info because it’s fun and interesting to speculate about what might make it into the game. As always, remember that this might contains spoilers, this is not official SWTOR news and we don’t actually know if any of this info will end up live in the game. With that said, let’s check it out! Here is some new info about 2.3 PTS data mined files a well as some corrections: Well it’s that time again. Going through the files I found artwork for new companion customizations for Qyzen, Skadge, Sgt. Rusk, Gault, Xalek, Ashara, and Yuun. Can’t really show them to you, as I haven’t had time to play around with character/npc models. They don’t have associated item entries, so they’re probably a little ways out. Apparently these went live with 2.2.2, and were body skins for existing customizations. Yay, for small fixes! Treek…
Preliminary Datamining for SWTOR 2.3PTS
Datamines, datamines! What is upcoming for SWTOR in 2.3PTS? Well, swtor_miner is back with some new info that might give us a few clues. First, note that there might be SPOILERS in some of this data. Secondly, remember that datamined info is just a guess at what might be coming in the future of the game. There are no guarantees this even means what we think it means and even if it does, BioWare still have the right to change everything on us before the official release of the game update. In the meantime, it’s fun to speculate! So here is the info SWTOR Miner has for us this time: Hey guys, I got a little bit of free time and tore into the 2.3PTS files. My most interesting find was this: Czerka Executive Cruiser – Activates the Czerk Executive Cruiser, increasing movement speed by 110% and offering excellent protection against…
SWTOR Datamining 2.2 Live Version Updates
How would you like to be riding around on this stingray mount? There’s a good chance you can be really soon in SWTOR. swtor_miner has a new update for us regarding the 2.2 live version datamine. Here is what we got for you: So let me start of by saying there’s not much new stuff that wasn’t already covered by my previous post on the 2.2 PTS. The most interesting thing comes from the codex – Wartime Correspondent – You earned this title as a reward for your guild’s prowess in battle and living to tell about it. What the heck does that even mean?????? Searching for some kind of meaning for those words I dug back into the 2.2 PTS files. This title was originally listed under “itm/mtx/title/recruit_friends,” but now on live it’s under “itm/mtx/title/digital_surge.” There are no other references to “digital_surge” anywhere. So, you’ll have to provide your own meaning…
