Soon, we should be learning a little bit more about Star Wars: Rogue One during Comic Con, but before there is a new story on Star Wars: Rogue One, we have found out that Darth Vader will be appearing in Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Anthology film.

We have found out that Darth Vader will be making an appearance in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, however he will not be the film’s main enemy. The dark lord will be appearing behind the scenes mainly and will appear onscreen as well. One thing we don’t know is if his character will be appearing in person or during the story at some point.

No one is sure who will be the main villain in Star Wars: Rogue One. One contender for the role are Grand Moff Tarkin, who is the commander of the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope. However, sources were not able to confirm this. Maybe the villain will be a brand new character that we have yet to meet. We shall wait and see.

In Disney XD’s Star Wars Rebels animated series, James Earl Jones provided the voice for Darth Vader and we think that he will be doing the voice again in the new life action movie. After Disney announced that they would be creating Star Wars films that are stand-alone, and that they would be set in the Star Wars universe but the stories are not about the Skywalker saga, most assumed that the films would not have much connection with previous ones.

However, this is wrong. We have found out that the second Star Wars Anthology film will be focusing on the bounty hunter Boba Fett. There have also been rumors that other planned Anthology films will be mainly about Yoda and Obi-Wan.

“Rebel spaceships, striking from a hidden base, have won their first victory against the evil Galactic Empire. During the battle, Rebel spies managed to steal secret plans to the Empire’s ultimate weapon, the DEATH STAR, an armored space station with enough power to destroy an entire planet.”  This is the opening to Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope.

Star Wars: Rogue One is placed between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The film is set during the Age of the Empire and its being directed by Gareth Edwards with the idea being based off of an idea by John Knoll. The story follows a “band of resistance fighters unite for a daring mission to steal the Death Star plans.” This new Star Wars film will not be based on the Force or the Jedi. It’s set to release in theaters on December 16, 2016.
