BioWare has released a statement addressing the troubles with yesterdays game update. Game Update 5.4a | 08.31.2017, 11:56 PM Hey everyone, I want to start by apologizing for the unexpected and prolonged downtime today. This isn’t something we ever want to happen, but when it does, we take it seriously and do everything we can to resolve the issue or issues. We are adding additional processes to try and prevent this particular situation from happening again. Here’s essentially what took place today and what’s behind the long downtime: What happened? Wasn’t this tested? The issues we encountered were fairly complex, and having more than one just made things complicated. The first problem was the patch for our BitRaider and SSN launchers were inconsistent and ended up causing different issues after we took the servers out of maintenance. As a result, some of you actually received a game patch, while others didn’t get…

Here are the patch notes for today’s maintenance. Servers has been taken down again though, due to the arrival of new bugs. General Players who do not have the “Invitation: Trader’s Quarters” can no longer be summoned into the Trader’s Quarters on Odessen via a Guild Ship. Flashpoints + Operations + Uprisings Flashpoints Players will now be able to get back to the Umbaran Spider Tank if they die to the adds after killing the boss. It is no longer possible to get stuck on the train in Crisis on Umbara due to aggroing the defensive turrets. Defeating Gladiopod Workers and Soldiers in Crisis on Umbara now properly progress the following Achievements: On the Hunt, The Culling, and Umbaran Safari. Missions + NPCs Missions for the Iokath Daily Area have had their Command XP rewards returned to their correct values.
SWTOR Maintenance: Update 5.4a — Thursday August 31
BioWare will be taking the servers offline on Thursday, August 31st in order to apply Game Update 5.4a. Note that they are still actively testing this patch to ensure the fixes are working properly. they will let us know if maintenance timing changes. Eric Musco just updated the community about the upcoming changes for Carnage and Combat coming in Game Update 5.4. Note: All changes below are currently in development and are subject to change before being released. Operative Concealment Acid Blade’s damage has been reduced by 27.78% Collateral Strike’s damage has been reduced by 27.68% Scoundrel Scrapper Flechette Round’s damage has been reduced by 27.78% Flying Fists’ damage has been reduced by 27.68% DevNotes: The Concealment / Scrapper discipline was dealing more DPS than intended, so we made a couple changes to shrink it down a bit. These changes allow the Concealment Operative / Scrapper Scoundrel to still deal decent burst damage while having their sustained damage output brought in line with the DPS target.

Below are the upcoming changes for Lethality and Ruffian along with the notes from the SWTOR dev team on why they are occurring. Marauder Fury Increased the damage done by Bloody Slashes by 35% Sentinel Concentration Increased the damage done by Burning Slices by 35% DevNotes: The Fury / Concentration discipline only needed a small boost to bring it up to its target DPS, so increasing the damage dealt by Bloody Slashes / Burning Slices was all it took to do the trick.

Star Wars: Force Arena is getting an update with some rather large changes to the overall gameplay of Star Wars: Force Arena. These changes are quite significant, and the mods will be monitoring the changes carefully. Please note that numbers may change, and we will modify this post to reflect any changes that may happen. Overall Balance Changes Damage Reduction Changes The development team are making some rather large and sweeping changes to all of the leaders in the game. The first of these changes is the Damage Reduction change. At the moment all leaders take 50% damage from cards (except leaders and turrets). We will be increasing the reduction further, so that Leader cards will only take 35% damage from non-Leader cards. This change will allow leaders to get involved in fights for longer. ▶ Reduced the damage done to leaders from all targets except the opponents leader and Turrets from 50% to 35%.
