I, for one, am very happy about this announcement from Aspyr and can’t wait until it’s my turn to replay this old classic from my own youth. When it comes to Star Wars games in general, we’re not going to complain about a new title release, or a re-release. It’s just great to see people keeping the Star Wars spirit alive. That said, good games should never be forgotten and Producer James Vicari agrees. In this interview with StarWars.com, he describes why they felt the need to bring this port of the old game back to the modern systems. Here’s a snippet: StarWars.com: Star Wars Episode I: Racer is really fondly remembered. What do you think is the legacy of that game? James Vicari: Legacy is an interesting thing to try and…

Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 23

Chapter 23Poe couldn’t believe the firepower that he saw the Star Destroyers unleash.  They had not needed to destroy the task force with turbolaser fire, the weapon could have done that.   BB8 whistled over the comm.  Poe looked down at the scanner.   Over one hundred Tie-Fighters were heading toward them.   He had no doubt that they were the new ones that they had been fighting.   BB8 gave a low tone of dismay.  “What do you mean?”  Poe asked as he adjusted the sensors.   The gravity field was wrong.   “There are interdiction fields.”  He slammed his fist on the arm rest  “Rogue Leader, Arclight.”  “I read you Archlight.”  “We have to buy the ships time to get away,” Wedge said.  “They have interdiction fields,” Poe said.  “I know.  We will figure something out.” “Where is our backup?” Poe asked.  “I don’t know, they will be here soon.”  Poe cursed and rolled…

Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 21 and 22

Chapter 21Kylo paced along the upper deck of the bridge.   For five days the fleet had been jumping in and out of hyperspace as they made their way across the galaxy.   He had been disappointed that the Lady Luck had escaped destruction at Coruscant and there was a fleet mobilizing.   He was oddly grateful to learn that the Star Dust had made it to Coruscant.  At least they could wrap all of this up at once.  “We have less than three minutes until we leave hyperspace, Lord Ren,” Admiral Hux said to him.  “All hands are at battle stations and all fighters are prepared to launch as soon as we come out of hyperspace.”  Kylo paused in his pacing and nodded to the Admiral.  In Kylo’s opinion, Hux was insufferably arrogant.  As insufferably arrogant as he was, Kylo knew that he was justified in being so.  Admiral Hux and volunteered…

Gotta make that gold, right? Well, it looks like some gold spammers are evolving to offer more than in-game currency. Check this screenshot from SWTOR: We are NOT making fun of the pandemic, but we really had to take a moment to share this with you because it’s both hilarious and alarming, depressing and ingenious (okay, maybe not go that far). If you’ve ever played SWTOR, or any MMORPG for that matter, you know that these guys have been around since the very beginning. Never before, however, have I seen one play on the current events quite this way. With people around the globe in fear of the coronavirus pandemic, it makes sense that they might try to capitalize on…

Starkiller’s Thoughts When Seeing Darth Vader’s Face Without his Mask On!

Few have ever been able to look upon Darth Vader’s face without his mask. His apprentice, Starkiller, was one of these few. Starkiller struggled with the battle between the light and the dark side and this epic duel between the two of them was monumental. Starkiller had to realize that behind the mask was not a monster or evil creature, but a man, just like him. A man who still had the ability to feel fear and pain. With the mask, Vader was a legend. Behind the mask, he was still a man. His humanity showed through, which had to be a very powerful circumstance for Starkiller. This video from Star Wars Reading Club breaks down the story of how and why this happened, and what Starkiller was thinking when he say Vader sans mask. See it here: What do you think? Please identify yourself.”  She sighed.  “This is Padawan Rae and Padawan Lowbacca.  We are requesting permission to land at the temple.”  “Permission granted.  Master Skywalker asked to be made aware of your arrival.”  “Thank you, Control, Star Dust out.”  Rae leaned back in the chair.   The bacta cuff was still on but Rose had told her that it would probably come off once they could get to a real medical facility.  “Get us down please, Finn,” she said.  “I do not show any ships approaching us,” K7 said from the co-pilot’s seat.   Finn nodded and engaged the engines, probably entering the atmosphere a bit quicker than needed.  The past five days, they had all felt like the fleet was right behind…

Kylo stood straight with his hands behind his back.  He looked up at the hologram of the older scarred man before him.  Kylo was glad that this was over the echonet and not face to face.  “Lord Ren, do you mean to tell me that your former pupils managed to escape you?  Are you sure that they escaped?”   Kylo ground his teeth.  “I did not let them go if that is what you are hinting at, My Lord,” he said and pointed to the bandage on his face.  “I did not get this because I was playing nice.  And I realize that this pushes the timetables forward.  It is nothing that is not insurmountable.”  “Lord Ren,” the man said and crossed his arms.  “You have underestimated your students several times now.   They were the ones that sensed me.  I called you there to kill them and eliminate the…

Is This the End for Star Wars Battlefront 2?

Things in the video game industry can move pretty quickly sometimes. And other times they can crawl like a snail. Due to the coronavirus pandemic sweeping the globe right now, we’re seeing unpredictable behaviors in our games, especially multi-player games. Star Wars Battlefront 2 is not immune to this. We already reported that the Battle of Scarif update has been postponed. Given the state of things in the world, this is understandable and that alone is not reason to suspect the game could be on the decline. There are some other concerns being discussed such as the favorite community manager stepping down from the role because he got a promotion and there’s been no mention of who the replacement for Ben will be. In this video, TheOzzyJedi talks about why he’s a bit worried about Star Wars Battlefront 2. Again, we’re taking longevity of the game. Of course, we know…

In the Polish fandom, it means all of that and more. Imagine if it meant all of that to you, but… it was illegal to have access to it. What if it was illegal to watch the movies, or to collect the merch?
