Lot’s of awesome new stuff is tested on the PTS right now. If you haven’t been playing around on the PTS your self yet, you are missing out. Here are a few of the new cool things you can experience. Here is a little story/cutscene background for those who havn’t experience the Kuat Drive Yards flashpoint on the PTS yet. The PTS is kinda buggy right now as you cannot get to that GS area in the fleet where the intro cutscene for the Kuat Drive Yards begins unless you do the flashpoint first via the group finder. This mess up the sequence a bit so it can be a bit confusing. Luckily Dulfy rearranged the cutscenes in order they are meant to be viewed. Highlights New Galactic Starfighter Ship Role: Bomber – The Bomber ship role has been added to Galactic Starfighter, with six new ships available for unlock/purchase! Bombers are tough support ships that drop mines and drones on the battlefield. Mines detonate when enemies get into proximity, inflicting damage or crippling debuffs to all nearby foes. Drones attack nearby enemies with a variety of weapons, while Repair Drones restore the hull of nearby allies. Lightsaber from TheOldRepublic.Ru have yet again been fast, and recorded the Republic Ships Visual Customization for us. If you don’t have time to play around on the public test servers this weekend, you are really missing out. Below you can see the Republic Ships Visual Customization. It’s unknown if these can be unlocked to legacy, as BioWare haven’t given us any information on how the unlocks work yet. The Cartel Market is not available on the PTS, so we can’t try it to see. Note: Every ship on each faction has the same customization options.

More Datatmining 2.4PTS – Modeldump
As we await Game Update 2.4, we now have some more datamined updates from swtor_miner to share. Here’s a link to my latest Datamining post on 2.4PTS I’m still working on a method for automatically reconstructing ingame models. It’s going to be a long road for that though. But, this morning I went through the weapon/vehicle models from the last few PTS builds and matched them up with their textures. Now, this is by no means exactly how they will appear ingame. As, most models have a bump/displacement map that adds most of the detail to an item, and I’m not loading that. Then, there’s the scrolling UVs which are present on some of these items, that again I couldn’t load. I’m also ignoring the material (how shiny/matte a texture is). Which led to me turning of shading in some models that were too dark, and led to slightly comical…

PTS Closing for 2.3 Testing Prep
The public test servers are coming down todayto begin the preperation for Game update 2.3. I must admit that this come as a surprise as it was a very short duration on the PTS. Personally me and my guild did not have time to test it with Nightmare TFB on live and such. We only really tested the bosses up the Thrasher but couldn’t process further due to the high damage output. PTS update notes – March 6
BioWare deployed a new update to the public test servers yesterday with a new patch to Game Update 2.0. check out the full patch notes below. Annoyingly, many of these changes (Sniper changes, Missile Salvo change, etc.) aren’t new today but were put in a couple days ago. I don’t know why they listed them again. Classes and Combat Jedi Knight Alacrity no longer reduces the channel duration of Force Stasis. Sith Warrior Alacrity no longer reduces the channel duration of Force Choke. Jedi Consular Sage Empowered Throw now also increases the damage dealt by Sever Force. Shadow Force Breach’s accuracy debuff now lasts 30 seconds (up from 18) when Combat Technique is active. Kinetic Combat Bombardment now makes Project generate 15% more threat per point and cost 15% less Force per point while Combat Technique is active. Slow Time now has a 9second cooldown and costs 20 Force. Damage remains…
Possible fix for failed character copy to SWTOR PTS
Are you having issues with doing a character copy to the PTS in SWTOR? You’re not alone if you’ve been experiencing a bug with this process but some SWTOR players have found a fix that seems to be working for everyone who tries it. Take off all of your companions’ gear and put them in cargo bay, then transfer your character. Quick and easy fix! Some players are reporting that taking off the ship’s parts may also work. If you’re getting the message “We were unable to process your requested move of characters to Public Test Server. This account has reached the 12 character maximum on the server.” Then this fix will not help you. The probably with this is when you already have characters on both the open and the closed test servers. BioWare should be fixing this one but if we come across a fix, we’ll update to…

BioWare have updated the Public test realm with a new patch to game update 2.0. Below are the patch notes: Game Update 2.0 PTS Update Patch Notes These notes detail changes made to the PTS server on 2/26/2013. These changes may only apply to the PTS server. Classes and Combat Jedi Knight Guardian Guardian Slash will now correctly deal damage to nearby enemies when it deals the killing blow to a target affected by your armor reduction. Vigilance Plasma Brand no longer requires an enemy target to be affected by the Guardian’s Sunder Armor. Defense Guardians will now receive the correct stat bonus from Blade Barrier. SWTOR 2.0 level 55 Class Abilities Video
The guys from the-old-republic.ru mailed us a bad ass movie showing off the new level 55 class abilities. There is no denying that the Russian guys have been quick capturing this video, so kudos for their work! Electro Net, Force Barrier and Double Saber throw look pretty awesome, and its great that agents and smugglers finally get real mobility. The sith sorcerer defensive bubble animation is also exactly how I’d imagine it–as the sith sorcerer uses all their energy to repel all attacks. Good stuff! Check it out below:

Game Update 1.5 PTS Patch Notes 10/29/2012
BioWare have updated the public test servers with a new patch. It’s clear we are getting closer and closer to the release of patch 1.5 and the Free to Play version of the game. We are still not quite there yet though, so today’s normal server maintenance won’t bring it to the live servers. That’s alright though. I think we all want the most polished free to play version of the game as possible. Up until release you also get to play around with the Cartel Market on PTS. for a while yet. Game Update 1.5 on PTS!
Game Update 1.5 is now live on the public test servers. This is the one were we get our new playable companion: HK-51! This means BioWare really will be delivering new content every 6 weeks – nice to finally see them delivering on that promise!! below is the press release from BioWare, and below that is data dump of the new patch.
