Star Wars: Battlefront is big. Indeed, the game is one of the most hotly anticipated titles of the fall in the whole of gaming and not just within the Star Wars community, which has followed the evolution of the project for more than a year now. With the release date drawing near, it seems like everyone is eager to jump on the Battlefront bandwagon, and yes, that includes the maker of the PS4, Sony too. The game will be honored through a special PS4 bundle, which includes tons of must-have goodies not only for fans of the game but for those of the entire Star Wars universe and canon. The Bundle is centered around a PS4 console sporting a Darth Vader-themed design. Included in the bundle is a Deluxe edition of the game (the bundle launches together with the game itself on November 14), as well as a number of…

Rogue One Cast Revealed
Rogue One, the first standalone Star Wars film, now has an official cast, and it looks fantastic. Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything), Diego Luna (Milk, Elysium), Ben Mendelsohn (Bloodline), Donnie Yen (Ip Man, Blade II), Jiang Wen (Let the Bullets Fly, Devils on the Doorstep), Forest Whitaker (The Last King of Scotland), Mads Mikkelsen (The Hunt, Casino Royale), and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler) will all feature. Alan Tudyk (A Knight’s Tale, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil) will also play a motion-capture character. It looks like the production crew has absolutely nailed the look for this movie: the cast certainly has the rag-tag look of a group of Rebels about to take on something big. Many of the crew involved in graphics, costume, and other visual roles have worked on similarly gritty-looking movies, so it stands to reason that this will have a darker, less-put-together look than some other Star Wars works. We won’t know much more…
Top 3 Reasons to play KotFE – The Vulkk Edition
New Level Cap During the upcoming spring, players will be able to advance their characters from level 60 to level 65. We know that this isn’t much but it’s absolutely better than nothing at all. The game is going to be letting players go to more new places than ever before. The new 5 levels means that there will be alterations in our abilities, also a new utility point and most likely another shuffle within the DR system will happen. Each time that the level cap goes up, the end-game gear either becomes obsolete or is barely an entry level for the new end-game content. By doing this, it levels out the playing field for both the experienced player and the new ones. New Outfits and Clothing Designs Because of the lack of new endgame production at launch that is actually worthy for the launch of an expansion, the more…
Electronic Arts Says The Days Of Inferior Movie Tie-In Games Are Over
The new upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront is expected to be one of the highest selling games of the year and the fact that the new Star Wars movie is being released a month after the game helps its chances even more. While it’s likely that the franchises corporation planned the release strategically, Electronic Arts COO, Peter Moore, states that the games does not need any assistance from circumstance. The days of several average movie tie-in games must go along with big cinematic releases are gone, according to a recent interview that Moore told MCV. “That’s not what we do anymore,” says Moore. “We are a superior medium. We can tell stories better than any direct movie, which is linear with passive engagement from the viewer. We take great pride in the fact that you are playing your Star Wars fantasy. When I got in this industry, yeah, we were a…
An Afternoon with the Star Wars Galaxies Emulator
One day, James Currie, wrote a story on his blog, destructoid.com, about crafting and he used Star Wars: Galaxies as an example. He then realized that the old Star Wars MMO had an emulator and he had to give it a whirl right then. Depending on your age you may or may not remember that before microtransactions came to be, there was pre-NGE Star Wars Galaxies and players played roles like smugglers, bounty hunters and gunslingers. However, Sony purchased the game and then introduced Jedi with the ‘New Game Enhancements.’ Many players hated the new update and the Star Wars community was in a rage. After several years of no improvement, SWG shut down but the emulators rose up. Because NGE dropped the SWG, the emulator project grew. It was a huge hit and he has been playing it ever since. The one thing that is captivating, according to Currie, was…
Improve SWTOR Performance by Installing DirectX 9
Installing the old DirectX 9 on Windows 10 may sound weird at first, but let’s see what the reason is, shall we? It will very likely help Improving a lot your SWTOR Performance and FPS. Windows 10 comes packed with the newest edition of DirectX 12. Our favorite game SWTOR is created and still used only Directx 9. In order for it to display its beauty, the system needs to emulate al the DirectX 9 effects, which may slow it down and result in a poor performance. By installing the DirectX 9 package manually, we stop that process of simulation and allow our PC to use the original files the game is designed for, thus, in theory at least, speeding the process up. This installation wont make SWTOR run smooth and flawlessly, but it will likely boost it at least a bit. I have done this since the game’s launch in 2011 on multiple…
EA skipped a Battlefront campaign because “very few” would play it
The new Star Wars: Battlefront will feature AI-controlled enemies for single player and co-op modes such as Survival, however there will not be a proper single-player campaign. The reasoning for this is quite simple, after Electronic Arts Chief Operating Officer Peter Moore told Gamespot: Hardly anyone would bother playing it anyway and skip the games. Moore stated that large decisions like this are typically made years in advance before the games release, and sometimes this can lead to problems. “Between when a dev team starts work on a game, and when it finishes, the world becomes a different place. I remember when we started work on Star Wars: The Old Republic; at the time, the model to go for was subscription,” he explained. “By the time we had the game ready, the model to go for wasn’t subscriptions. That’s why we had to stop the game, and rebuilt it as…
Star Wars: Battlefront Supremacy Revealed
The different multiplayer modes of Star Wars: Battlefront have many different types of experiences for players to enjoy. Everything from close-quarter battles to huge clashes on large maps, the Supremacy mode fits into the latter category. The Supremacy mode centers on five different control points that are scattered throughout the map. The player’s objective is to gain control of all five of the points, or most of them, before the 10 minutes are over. Every team will start the match controlling two of the points and then they will then have to fight for the last one in the center. After this has been done, the control points will need to be claimed in a certain order. Supremacy mode is a hardcore mode that is for players who know their way around the battlefront and for those who are craving mad action. Lead Level Designer Dennis Brannvall states that the…
What Happened to the Empire after Endor? We’ll Find Out Soon
With The Force Awakens taking place 30 years after Return of the Jedi, there’s been a lot of speculation about what happened in between them. Was the Empire crippled? Did it maintain its stranglehold on the galaxy? Where are the rebels now? On September 2, we’ll start to get answers to these questions. Shattered Empire, the new four-issue comic book series from Marvel, will focus on the events directly following the Battle of Endor and give us some insight into the state of the galaxy moving into The Force Awakens. In an interview with StarWars.com, author Greg Rucka points out that Empire is vast, and that even the loss of its two most important figureheads won’t sound its death knell. Some supporters will leave, but many others will stay and be forced to further defend their territory. He also stated that he used real-world events, like the fall of the Soviet Union and the…
Multiple Live-Action Star Wars Shows to Arrive on Netflix?
It’s clear that Disney is going all-in with Star Wars: new movies, new books, new action figures and LEGO sets, and now . . . new TV shows? Back in March, Cinelinx discussed the possibility of Disney being in talks with Netflix for a live-action TV show. But the latest rumors suggest that there could be multiple shows in the works. The fact that Disney is producing standalone Star Wars movies might lend some credence to this rumor—they’re clearly interested in cinematically exploring the rest of the universe outside of the main Republic / Empire conflict that’s been the center of the series for so long. There have been discussions of a Star Wars TV show since 2005, after George Lucas announced that he had plans for a show that took place between the prequels and the original trilogy. By 2011, he said that he had 50 episodes written. And although a number of people have…
The Business Case for BioWare’s Ops Announcement
BioWare announced the future of Operations in Star Wars: The Old Republic this past Thursday. Most people weren’t thrilled about the announcement and it was mainly because they are scared about the game’s status if people stop playing. They announced that there would not be any new Operations content for the next 12 months. We think the reason for this is simply, Star Wars: Battlefront. The game is sharing a parent company and intellectual property with Star Wars: The Old Republic. We are sure that there many people that intend on playing Star Wars: Battlefront and this makes sense that EA would use a business plan to maximize their revenues from both of the games together. They both have strengths and weaknesses that seem to mesh well together. Star Wars: Battlefront has very little single-player appeal but it does have a massive multiplayer component. Star Wars: The Old Republic struggles…
Michael Jackson Wanted to Play Jar Jar Binks in ‘Star Wars’
Michael Jackson wanted to play the Star Wars character Jar Jar Binks, however George Lucas denied him the part. His reason for denying the pop star was because he “wanted to do it in prosthetics and makeup like ‘Thriller’”. Michael Jackson was known as the “King of Pop” and he reportedly told George Lucas that he wanted to play the goofy Gungan Jar Jar Binks, which is one of the most despised characters in film history. The character appeared in the 1999 blockbuster hit, Star Wars: Episode I: The Phantom Menance. Ahmed Best voiced and provided the motion capture for Jar Jar Binks’ character, explained the interest that Michael Jackson had during an interview with Vice. “Me, Natalie Portman and George [Lucas]’s kids – we were at Wembley arena at Michael Jackson’s concert,” Best said. “We were taken backstage, and we met Michael. There was Michael and Lisa Marie [Presley]….
Star Wars the force awakens confirmed at d23
The Disney D23 convention is not far away and we have learned that The Force Awakens is going to be part of the two-hour long presentation by Walt Disney Studios’ Chairman Alan Horn. Now that The Force Awakens is going to be part of the presentation, nobody is sure if Rogue One will be discussed at all. There is a slew of special guests that are supposed to appear. Maybe Andy Serkis and Lupita Nyong’o will actually appear, since they have yet to be at any conventions. However, it’s all a guessing game right now. Another huge event that is happening at D23 this year is Star Wars creator George Lucas will be honored. He will be given a Disney Legend Award, as well as six other Disney Legends. The award will be given during a presentation in the morning on Friday August 14th at 10:00am and it will be…

PCMag recently teamed up with a PR representative for a single round of Survival Mode. When you play this mode in the full game it will have players going up against 15 waves of enemies on multiple different planets that include Hoth and Endor. However, during the PlayStation 4 demo they took on six waves on the beautiful deserts of Tatooine. The main object of the mode is to stay alive but sometimes they received secondary missions from Admiral Ackbar to find and defend the weapon cache pods. If one player dies but the other one lives and finishes the round, both Rebel soldiers can go to the next round. The new Star Wars: Battlefront is currently being developed by DICE and they are known for making the Battlefield series. Just like Battlefield, Star Wars: Battlefront is mainly a large multiplayer experience. The only single-player part of the game will…
Star Wars: Battlefront Impressions: Learning to Survive or Die Together
The new and upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game is not only about Revel vs. Empire multiplayer battles, but much more. As it was revealed at this year’s E3, the game will have a cooperative multiplayer mode, this is where up to two players can work together to take on waves of incoming Stormtroopers. Shack News used their teamwork skills during the EA Summer Showcase in New York City. During the beginning of the match the players get to pick out their equipment, like your main weapon and a star card. The star card will tell you what your special equipment load out is. The first is used for defensive play and also includes an Ion Torpedo that closes in on enemy vehicles like the AT-ST. The second card is for offensive players and it has the Barrage grenade launcher and Ion Shot. The Ion Shot temporarily enhances your blaster, which…
Star Wars Battlefront 4 concept art from 2009
During the time that LucasArts terminated their contract with Free Radical Design, they were not just working on Star Wars: Battlefront III and Time Splitters 4, they were also working on the pre-production of a new Star Wars: Battlefront game. While the status of Star Wars: Battlefront III is not currently known, we don’t really expect any news about a fourth SW Battlefront game in the future.
New details on Visceral’s Star Wars game

Currently, Star Wars: Battlefront is being developed by DICE and they are known for their extremely popular Battlefield series. So far from what everyone has seen of the new game, it looks to be great. Visceral Games, which is also part of EA, is working on a Star Wars game. The studio of Visceral is most popular for making the third person shooter series that is Dead Space. Not too long ago, EA went on a spree to hire all-stars that are in the gaming industry. The most popular hires were Jade Raymond and Amy Hennig. Hennig is known for working at Naughty Dog while it was developing the first three Uncharted games and she was the head writer that was working on the story. She is…

The team has also been given the original sounds and stems from the Star Wars films. Star Wars Battlefront: Walker Assault Mode Explained
Many fans of the new upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game are confused and excited about the new Walker Assault mode. There is no an explanation of the mode thanks to BattlefrontUpdates on YouTube. Walker Assault is an atypical game mode and it has many phases that repeat themselves. The Rebels will be taking out uplinks in order to summon the Y-Wings, the Walkers then arrive in a certain location, the Y-Wings strike back at the Walkers, and then it starts all over again. This scenario plays out in different locations on the map three different times. Walker Assault does not end until the Walkers make it to their shield generator or the Rebels may take them out before they make it to their destination. During this mode, the Rebels are typically on the offensive and the Empire is on the defensive end. Every phase begins with one location and two…
