Star Wars: Heir to the Empire – Chapter 8
It’s been a while since I’ve brought you a new chapter of this ongoing series, Heir to the Empire. It’s a great watch and free on YouTube. It never ceases to amaze me the great things Star Wars fans come up with but this one is a longtime favorite of mine, and I’m glad they’re keeping the series going. This is Chapter 8, so if you’re new, go back to the beginning and start from Chapter 1. You will not be disappointed. I don’t want t talk too much about the video itself, because I don’t want to give away the content before you’ve had a chance to watch it. NOT ALONE – Star Wars Short Film
It’s fan film time again and this one is a bit different from some that I bring you and I absolutely love it! This short will not take up a lot of your time so stop whatever you’re doing right now and give it a watch. Trust me, you’ll be glad you did. I’m happy to bring you another Star Wars Short Film today, this one from Cinematic Captures, titled NOT ALONE. It’s a very short film, but says a lot with just a little. In preparation for the construction of the Second Death Star’s shield generator, scouts are sent to the forest moon of Endor, however it’s soon apparent they’re not alone. See it here: So, what did you think? It’s really well done, paints a perfect (hilarious/fun) picture, and the effects, music, voice and everything is spot-on. It’s little gems like this that make me proud to be…
MACE WINDU – Star Wars Fan Film
It’s fan film time again and I love everything about this one. For one, I’m a big fan of Mace Windu and here we get to see a young Windu in action. Next, the acting was really great and the costuming was of professional level and keeping with the time period. It has the staple of a great Star Wars film – an awesome lightsaber duel. And the story is really great. While it’s a short film, you get immersed it in right away and I can’t wait to see more films by them. I wish they’d do more Windu but I’m sure anything they produce will be a fun, entertaining watch. Nearly 20 years before Phantom Menace, young Jedi Knight Mace Windu locates a missing Jedi. What he encounters is unexpected. See for yourself here: From the creators, Full Fledged Pro: Subscribe for more cinematic short films! Thanks for…
Star Wars Smuggler’s Fate
All of this social isolation means I’m spending even more time at home than usual (and that’s saying something) and I’m finding one way I enjoy passing that time is with new videos. And if it’s Star Wars, well, you know I’m gonna watch it. Star Wars fan films are totally my thing. The good, the bad, the ugly – and everything in between! I’ve said it before but there’s something great about even the “bad” fan films. The spirit of Star Wars that goes into each one is special in and of itself. Here’s the latest one I’m enjoying: Star Wars Smuggler’s Fate. It’s just over 10 minutes long and is the final part of a trilogy, so be sure to watch the others first, if you haven’t. While this one is not Hollywood-level acting or videography, it has a charge to it. I also really like the costuming…
Shrouded Destiny: A Star Wars Long Tale
It’s time for another Star Wars fan film and this one is so fantastic! The full length trailer is about 3 minutes long and I’ll embed it for you below, but I highly encourage you to follow this project and keep an eye on it because it’s really amazing. ABOUT THE EPISODE: My name is Shahbaz Sarwar and I’m a man with a dream. A dream of taking my 16 years of accumulated experience from my time in the film industry and take a shot at getting the attention of Lucasfilm and Disney, so that they will meet with me and my team. The goal? To pitch a unique story in the Star Wars universe that will have the scale of Game of Thrones; the drama of Breaking Bad; the meticulousness of The Wire, and the visceral action of “The Raid”. Coming all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark, it seems…

THE JEDI JAWA – A Star Wars Fan Film
“After a long day scavenging the desert, a young Jawa makes a grim discovery when returning home. When all is gone, revenge is the only option! This Star Wars fan film was made because my son Ralph really wanted to be a Jawa! Here’s a really fun little Star Wars short from ianbenjaminkenny about a Jawa who becomes a Jedi. I love it and I love that the child was involved! So cute. I actually think it makes for a very interesting story and I was disappointed it’s only about 3 minutes long. I want to know more about this little Jawa and his Jedi adventures! Check it out:
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 25 and Epilogues
Chapter 25 “Well, young lady, you are quite lucky,” Doctor Tutt said while she examined the readouts. The medical droid scanned the stump of her leg taking measurements. It looked at Rae and its photo receptors blinked. “Yeah, real lucky,” it said with a slight hint of sarcasm in its voice. Rae bit her lip at the tone of the droid, not knowing if she wanted to laugh or cry at the comment. “Pay him no mind,” the doctor said not looking away from the scans. “We can fit you with a prosthetic leg within a day if you want something to match your skin tone and texture, or a few hours if you aren’t that picky.” “Prosthetic?” Rae asked. “It is the least difficult way to get you your mobility back.” She looked up from her tablet. “I mean we could try to regrow your leg. But that would…
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 24
Chapter 24“And we repeat,” Holdo said. “All ships focus your shields to port and fire as soon as you have a solution. We will only be on station fifteen seconds.” She leaned against the railing, her fingers tight around the foam guard. If the Brightsong and Tarkin’s folley could not manage to take out the corvettes creating the interdiction field then they would have to jump into the middle of the fight on their next pass. She held her breath as they came out of hyperspace, this time behind the fleet. The Imperial fleet immediately opened fire on them but thankfully most of their weapons were not able to target to their aft. Her fleet began pouring fire out at the ships. Ion bolts, turbo laser fire, and proton torpedoes hit the Imperial ships. The few smaller ships that were targeted sustained severe damage, the Star Destroyers were holding…
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 23
Chapter 23Poe couldn’t believe the firepower that he saw the Star Destroyers unleash. They had not needed to destroy the task force with turbolaser fire, the weapon could have done that. BB8 whistled over the comm. Poe looked down at the scanner. Over one hundred Tie-Fighters were heading toward them. He had no doubt that they were the new ones that they had been fighting. BB8 gave a low tone of dismay. “What do you mean?” Poe asked as he adjusted the sensors. The gravity field was wrong. “There are interdiction fields.” He slammed his fist on the arm rest “Rogue Leader, Arclight.” “I read you Archlight.” “We have to buy the ships time to get away,” Wedge said. “They have interdiction fields,” Poe said. “I know. We will figure something out.” “Where is our backup?” Poe asked. “I don’t know, they will be here soon.” Poe cursed and rolled…
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 21 and 22
Chapter 21Kylo paced along the upper deck of the bridge. For five days the fleet had been jumping in and out of hyperspace as they made their way across the galaxy. He had been disappointed that the Lady Luck had escaped destruction at Coruscant and there was a fleet mobilizing. He was oddly grateful to learn that the Star Dust had made it to Coruscant. At least they could wrap all of this up at once. “We have less than three minutes until we leave hyperspace, Lord Ren,” Admiral Hux said to him. “All hands are at battle stations and all fighters are prepared to launch as soon as we come out of hyperspace.” Kylo paused in his pacing and nodded to the Admiral. In Kylo’s opinion, Hux was insufferably arrogant. As insufferably arrogant as he was, Kylo knew that he was justified in being so. Admiral Hux and volunteered…
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 20
Chapter 20The Star Dust exited hyperspace near Yavin 4. Rae pressed the button on the comm station. “Yavin control, this is the Star Dust.” “Star Dust, this is control. Please identify yourself.” She sighed. “This is Padawan Rae and Padawan Lowbacca. We are requesting permission to land at the temple.” “Permission granted. Master Skywalker asked to be made aware of your arrival.” “Thank you, Control, Star Dust out.” Rae leaned back in the chair. The bacta cuff was still on but Rose had told her that it would probably come off once they could get to a real medical facility. “Get us down please, Finn,” she said. “I do not show any ships approaching us,” K7 said from the co-pilot’s seat. Finn nodded and engaged the engines, probably entering the atmosphere a bit quicker than needed. The past five days, they had all felt like the fleet was right behind…
Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within. Chapter 18 and 19.
Chapter 18. Kylo stood straight with his hands behind his back. He looked up at the hologram of the older scarred man before him. Kylo was glad that this was over the echonet and not face to face. “Lord Ren, do you mean to tell me that your former pupils managed to escape you? Are you sure that they escaped?” Kylo ground his teeth. “I did not let them go if that is what you are hinting at, My Lord,” he said and pointed to the bandage on his face. “I did not get this because I was playing nice. And I realize that this pushes the timetables forward. It is nothing that is not insurmountable.” “Lord Ren,” the man said and crossed his arms. “You have underestimated your students several times now. They were the ones that sensed me. I called you there to kill them and eliminate the…
KENOBI – A Star Wars Fan Film
If you’ve been a reader here for a while, you know that I love fan films. There’s something special about the energy that fellow fans put into Star Wars projects and I love it! This film, KENOBI by Jamie Costa via YouTube is a perfect example of what I love so much about fan films. It has a true Star Wars feel to it, and it ticks all the boxes of what makes a great film. You can see it for yourself here: A really cool factoid about this fan film: they got James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars to be in their FAN film? This is sooo awesome! If you didn’t recognize him, he’s Leegus, the Empire Captain. How awesome is that little cameo? I just love it! This short film has amazing acting, storytelling and real emotions that pull you in and keep…
Star Wars Fan Short with 70s Look and Feel is Definitely Worth a Watch
Dark Empire Episode 1: The Destiny of a Jedi is a recently released short film from WilkinsAnimations. With a run-time of approximately 12 minutes, it’s definitely not the length that makes it stand out. Instead, it’s unique, 1970s-era animation style and great story line are what keep you interested. In fact, the short is so good it actually feels like a teaser – just casually wetting your appetite for a full-length episode. The creator does have additional episodes in the works, which is exciting because this talented artist may be able to bring in a big enough audience to capture the attention of the likes of Lucasfilm Animation. The story follows an adventure featuring Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO. R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker. The events take place a few years beyond the battle of Endor. A new, unknown disturbance within the force has appeared in the galaxy, threatening all…

Check it out: “You’re kind of tall to be a stormtrooper…” “Sorry sir, it won’t happen again.” Hilarious one-liners everywhere. This would be an amazing series. I’d tune in every week to see what shenanigans the Stormtroopers were getting into next. Seriously. What do you think? I thought it was a fun little short (under 8 mins) and now it has me daydreaming of my ROTC days if we were all Stormtroopers… haha
