Earlier this week I had a chance to talk to some of the leadership of Wrath, some serious hardcore raiding Sith. Check it out below.
Where did your guilds name come from?
Wrath was born from a prerelease World of Warcraft guild named Reign of Elysian. Elysian meaning "Heaven". When we decided to make the switch to Sith for Star Wars: The Old Republic, we decided we wanted something a bit Angrier, so we changed the name to Wrath of Elysian, though we always just go by Wrath for short.
Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentence description of your guild?
Wrath is an endgame PvE progression guild dedicated to the server first mentality
How did your guild come about?
Answered this in #1, but basically we've been a gaming community for almost 8 years now.
What kind of play style do you focus on? PvE, PvP, RP?
PvE is our #1 priority.
What is your guild set up? How do you run your guild?
We have 3 leaders in our guild. Every decision requires at least two of them to agree. This allows for things to happen quickly when they need to, but not without the proper checks and balances.
How serious do you play and/or run the guild?
Extremely serious. To the members of Wrath, MMOs are only fun if you're competing for that top slot. ( server / world first). Everything about the way the guild is ran... from recruitment to activity requirements, is designed around maintaining that atmosphere so our guild members get the most out of being here.
Do you have ranks or a certain hierarchy in your guild?
We feel like most guilds get too complex in their leadership structure. We have 3 leaders, and that's it. Come release, we will have class leaders to help make sure everyone is gearing up properly, using the best specs, etc.
Why did you choose the Sith?
After spending 6 years fighting for the alliance, we were ready to try out the dark side.
Why do you run a guild?
Because sometimes, if you want something done right, you just have to do it yourself. We've been recruiting in the Star Wars: The Old Republic community for 3 years now, and I still haven't seen any other guild that would have interested me if I hadn't started Wrath. There's a hundred guilds out there claiming to be hardcore, claiming they will "dominate" content, but very few actually have what it takes.
How do you approach Raid Planning?
Raid planning is easy when you have a website showing you a video tutorial of exactly how to do everything. When you're aiming to be the people *MAKING* those videos, like Wrath is, you have handle things a bit differently. You must know every class inside and out. Class abilities, roles, limitations... how much CC, re-use timers, etc... Once you have a firm grasp of what tools are available to you, you look for patterns... "Is this an avoidance mechanic? A heal-thru mechanic?... Do we need a ranged tank here?" When you know what tools are available to you, and how to best use them, and you can identify/associate them with the different types of raid mechanics involved, the rest is just execution.
Are you always open for new recruits or do you want to keep a certain guild size?
We are aiming for about 35 total members right now. We are extremely picky about recruitment. In fact, we've had over 400 applications, and only 16 have had what it takes to be a Wrath member. We're not joking around when we say we're looking for the best of the best.

What makes your guild stand out from everyone else?
What makes your guild unique? The quality and skill level of our members is unsurpassed. No one gets in without extensive proven raiding success from other MMOs.
How do you spend your time until release?
Do you know each other in real life or do you spend a lot of time on forums? A few of us know each other in real life, but most of us spend our time hanging out on the forums. We also get together every Tuesday night on TS3 and play random games together all night.
What Other Games are you currently playing as a guild?
Nothing official. We just finished a raid experiment in World of Warcraft to see exactly where our skill level was at with the guild. In 6 nights, we went from blue heroic gear to having killed 11/12 Cataclysim bosses, and being 7th on our server progression, even though we started raiding a month later than everyone else. Needless to say, we were quite pleased.Now that we've stopped playing wow, most of us are playing the classics... TF2, Starcraft 2, LoL, etc...
Guild systems in other MMOs? (Likes/Dislikes)
I'm a big fan of guild "leveling" and achievements. Guild banks are a must in my opinion. Other than that, it's really just about having a nice UI to manage the members in my opinion.

One last question, if there was one thing you could ask the Dev's to include, what would it be?
Raid sizes. Please for the love of god tell us about raid sizes. It's so hard to have a good "target" number of guild members when we have no idea if a raid is going to be 8 people or 80.
