Little later then normal this fine Monday we present to you this weeks first guild feature. This time Vendetta, A republic guild aiming ti explore both PVE, PVP and RP is in the spotlight.
Where did your guilds name come from?
The name Vendetta was picked agreed on since it sounded cool, short, and tells people we are a PvP guild.
Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentence description of your guild?
Vendetta is going to be slightly different from any guild out there. We plan on being a hardcore style guild that demands quality players, but with an undertone of casualness. What I mean by an undertone of casualness is that even though quality will be the demanding factor to be a guild member, maintaining a schedules of 40+ hrs a week of game time and things of that nature are not a requirement for the guild.
How did your guild come about?
Vendetta is a closed beta started guild. It was formed from a few members who continually ran across one another during the closed beta phase of Warhammer Online and we decided to start a guild and continue it through beta, and into open release. During the 1st creation of Vendetta we achieved the highest rank of any guild destruction or order in the world. Vendetta then manage this great feat again with Aion.
What kind of play style do you focus on? PvE, PvP, RP:
All 3 are very important to us. We plan to explore all aspects of the game, leaving no stone un-turn. Why pick one candy bar to eat for the next 6 years when you can have the whole candy store? PvP and PvE go hand in hand. Since our organization in PvP really helps us tackle PvE. The gear earned in PvE helps fill in your gear for PvP. As a competitive guild, we will take any edge we can get to dominate our foe. This is also the first Vendetta branch that will also include RP. We feel RP in a story driven game will really help make the game come alive. Our RP policy will be light and may not be suited for a hard core role player. I also have much respect for the maturity that a RP server has to offer. Beside is there any lore that better to RP then Star Wars? I think not…
What is your guild set up? How do you run your guild?
Organization is very important in a guild. Vendetta in SWTOR will have a council system. Where not just one person but three (or more depending on the current guild size) people are in charge to lead the guild. That way even if a guild leader needs to take a break or deal with a real life situation. A member in the council can quickly and smoothly take control with no hiccup in the guild.
Ever been a guild officer and felt overwhelmed with all your responsibility? The officer ranks in Vendetta are job based, to help focus an officer attention to better lead the guild.
Example: A PvE General will focus on planning and leading the guild in raids, and other forms of PvE.
The next rank down is a Field Commander. The beauty of this rank is it not managed by the head guild leaders. This rank is promoted to and managed by the General rank. This way the General is able to get who he or she needs to help lead the guild in PvE or PvP.
The next rank down is the enforcers of the guild, it there job to keep the peace in the guild. It also helps deal with issues at the lowest officer rank, so the leaders can focus more attention on leading the guild.
The next ranks are for members, with no or little responsibly. They may concentrate on one thing, and that is to have fun.
How serious do you play and/or run the guild?
Vendetta is a guild that has almost zero rules or regulations. I feel if a person needs a list of what not to do, they lack the maturity I require to be a Vendetta member. We are all adults and know how to act in public. On a normal day I plan to be very casual and relaxed, but when it comes to keeping the peace quick and serious action will be taken.
Do you have ranks or a certain hierarchy in your guild?
Yes, we have 3 or 5 people in a council leading the guild. Then the Generals with their own officers that they pick and promote and manage, to help lead the guild in PvP, and PvE. Guild recruitment is handled by all trusted members who been with the guild for some time.
Why do you run a guild?
Good question, a guy got to be crazy to want to huh? I run a guild simple because I wanted to join a guild that was friendly, casual, focused, and mature, with a nice website. I then was able to meet a group of friends that wanted the same. Once I got sick of looking for such guild, I decided it was time to make such a guild.
How do you approach Raid Planning?
What Vendetta has done in the past and it has worked exceptionally well is having a simplistic and easy to use rotating schedule that allows ALL members of the guild to participate in guild events. For example (this is not our schedule) If the guild were to raid mon and tue, what we would do, is have the 1st week of the month Mon & Tue, 2nd week of the month Wed, & Thur, 3rd week, Fri & Sat, then last week Sun. This allows for the raid schedule to rotate in a very simplistic and easy to follow way that will allow ALL the guild members to be fully participating in guild events.
Are you always open for new recruits or do you want to keep a certain guild size?
Yes we are always looking for good people to join our ranks. Take notice how I said good people and not skilled player. Finding a good person that fun to play with is tricky and much harder than a kid who thinks he or she is a skilled player. As long as we are all having fun playing our game, skill and knowledge will come in time.
I prefer 18+, we do accept younger if they can prove they have the maturity we require in all our members. I think the average age in the guild is 25+; we also have members who are also much older.
Right now we have about 60 members for SWTOR I think. Over the years Vendetta has had a large presence in many games such as Warhammer Online, Aion, Dark fall, WoW, and now Rift. Our website shows we have 705 active members, and 4,215 that are registered that are not active at this time.
What makes your guild stand out from everyone else? What makes your guild unique?
One thing that separates Vendetta from other guilds is the desire for casual quality players. Players who enjoy purely PvE content, crafters, and others. I believe that to have the best possible guild that we can, that a guild must cover all aspects of game content.
SWTOR Vendetta will also never make your respec your talent tree, or change the way you play to fit the guilds needs. We do not pay your monthly fee, and I feel we have no right to tell you how to play.
The most important thing is our number one goal is to have FUN. I do not care about loot, or being the first guild to down any boss. It not worth risking fun to recruit geared skilled players that are rude, and disrespectful just to be the best. Vendetta is a guild in a game, and should be seen as much. I do not want anyone to feel they are logging in to their 2end job. I want you to log in to have a hell of a night playing with your friends.
How do you spend your time until release? Do you know each other in real life or do you spend a lot of time on forums?
We are very active on our website, and website forums and many of us are currently playing Rift. We are a guild that has been around for over 6 years. Many of us may not know each other in real life but we feel as if we are a family.
What Other Games are you currently playing as a guild?
Right now Arcadiea is leading Vendetta in Rift.
