Star Wars Humble Bundle Blows Clean Past $1 Million Mark

..and it does it in less than 24 hours. Indeed, a Humble Bundle of games tossed onto the market in cooperation with Unicef, has raised some $1.3 million in less than 24 hours. The bundle is made up of a number of Star Wars-themed games, depending on how much money the buyer is paying for the deal. More than 134,000 sales of the bundle were registered within the first 24 hours of the Humble Bundle’s availability, and the package is slated to be kept available for an additional 13 days. The excellent performance logged by the Star Wars bundle put it right into second place on the all-time best selling Humble Bundles list, second only to the Sid Meier Humble Bundle, which managed to accrue more than $1.7 million over its first 2 days. Independent developer Trendy Entertainment has hired former LucasArts president Darrell Rodriguez as its new CEO. Trendy Entertainment, best known for its action-RPG Dungeon Defenders, is hoping the former LucasArts president will help lead their company to future success. Video game developer Red Fly Studios and publisher LucasArts were working on a new Star Wars based Darth Maul video game experience in 2010, which was supposed to expand the gameplay mechanics that were introduced in The Force Unleashed. Footage of the game has emerged online and sources are saying that the game was designed to initially be launched only on the Wii U by the same team that handled the port for Star Wars: The Force Unleashes II. LucasArts was impressed with the initial development work done by Red Fly Studios and decided to also greenlight the title for the PC, the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. Metro.co.uk talks about a job listing that indicates there is a new “open world” RPG in the making. This is exciting news but it also raises a lot of questions and peaks the curiosity of all types of gamers. The name was originally created by myself and Myphos long before SWTOR was announced. The name was based on our love of the Sentinel class in KotOR.
