Conquests turned off temporarily after SWTOR Fallen Empire

Due to bugs, the Conquests system will be turned off for the first month of Fallen Empire: Conquest Reward Issues and Fallen Empire | 10.06.2015, 09:37 PM Hey folks, We have read a few threads about issues with Conquest rewards not being granted and acknowledge there is definitely an issue with that system. As a result, beginning on October 20th when we launch Early Access to Knights of the Fallen Empire, we will turn off Conquest events for at least the following month. Once we resolve the issue, we will let you know when to expect Conquest events to return. For those who have not received this week’s Conquest rewards, we’re reviewing the situation and will give you an update soon. As a note, it is likely that over the next few weeks leading up to Fallen Empire there may be continued issues with Conquest rewards being granted. If you…

Crafting Changes in SWTOR Fallen Empire

BioWare posted another blogpost, laying out the crafting changes in Fallen Empire from the SWTOR developers. In Knights of the Fallen Empire, we are making quite a few adjustments to how Crafting will work. In this blog we will cover each of these changes and how they will affect your character in Fallen Empire. Ultimately we had a handful of goals for our crafting changes: Balance the Crafting skills, so that the benefits of all Crafting skills are relatively equal. Improve the quality of Crafted items, so that Crafting is a valid method to gear yourself. Ease the barrier of entry, making Crafting easier to understand for our newer players. Let’s get started. General Crew Skill Changes While leveling in Star Wars: The Old Republic, we want to ensure that Crew Skills are a way to help supplement your experience. We have made a few changes to help streamline your experience…

Eric Musco just informed us that via the official forums, that Some companion affection achievements will be removed and others adjusted in Fallen Empire. Check it out: Companion Affection Achievements in Fallen Empire | 10.06.2015, 06:34 PM Hey folks, I wanted to pass on some information regarding changes to Companion Achievements in Knights of the Fallen Empire. As many of you know, Affection is being changed to Influence to coincide with your Character’s Alliance. Due to this, we are going to be removing all of the “Reach Max Affection” Achievements from the game, along with the Achievement points which they have granted. We didn’t want to create a situation where a very large number of Achievement points was no longer accessible. You can click the spoiler tag below to see a full list of all of the Achievements being removed. As a note, the Achievements for “Loyalty to the [Class…

Developer Blog: Fallen Empire Core World Changes

BioWare posted a bew blog post detailing the changes to core worlds with the Knights of the Fallen Empire. Check it out: Drawing inspiration from the success of last year’s 12x XP boost and the more recent Epic Story XP Boost, in Fallen Empire we’ve altered the core leveling experience from 1-60 for all players, making it quicker and more story-centric. Our goal is to create a tighter leveling experience that alleviates the fatigue associated with having to complete dozens of Missions per planet and that allows players to focus on the core storylines of their characters and companions amid the backdrop of the Great Galactic War. To accomplish this we’ve established a new critical path, reducing the number of Missions players are required to complete in order to progress along with an adjusted experience curve. Additionally we’ve made a number of changes to Heroic Missions and re-classified Missions not considered…

Combat Changes in Fallen Empire

BioWare just posted a new blog post, explaining the combat changes, we can expect  in the upcoming expansion – Knights of the fallen Empire. Combat Changes in Fallen Empire With the launch of Knights of Fallen Empire, we are planning quite a few general changes to combat. This includes everything from how some stats work to a new feature called Level Sync. Let’s jump in and talk about these changes. Stat Changes We have reworked some of our stats with the goal of helping in itemization  as well as cleaning up some lingering imbalance between stats. These changes will reduce the amount of items that you find in game which simply don’t apply to your character. No more throwing items away because it has the wrong main stat, or hating that you have to get both Critical Hit Rating and Surge just to make the stats effective. These changes include:…

THE SECRECY about KOTFE IS LUDICROUS

During a recent interview, Anthony Daniels who stars as C-3PO in the Star Wars films stated this about The Force Awakens, “The secrecy has been beyond ludicrous.” This can also be said about BioWare and their expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic, Knights of the Fallen Empire. As many of the people reading this and Star Wars fans across the globe can agree that the information about key system changes has been completely non-existent. The new expansion is a release date in six weeks and there are still many unanswered questions, and most of them have nothing to do with the story at all. Going off what we have been informed of, Knights of the Fallen Empire brings up nearly every aspect of the game. This doesn’t mean that everything will be different, however, players will have to overcome four years of their memory of the game to adjust…

SWTOR 4.0 Class Changes: Inquisitor and Consular

In the following 2 videos you can see and hear the details about the recent changes Bioware announced today for the Sith Inquisitor and Jedi Consular Classes in Knights of the Fallen Empire, the next Digital Expansion of SWTOR. Narrated and recorded by Vulkk. In a nutshell, players receive 1 new ability at lvl 61, reshuffle of active and passive abilities gained through leveling with no change of their effects (for now) and 3 new Utilities, 1 for each tier. Bioware’s short message and reasoning for these changes: With 4.0, we wanted to give Assassins and Shadows a better way to stealthily approach or return to their enemy target, and their new ability was specifically designed to do just that. For Sorcerers and Sages, we wanted to give them an additional way to escape peril, so we made Phase Walk available to them. All of the following notes are subject to…

Game Update 4.0 New Feature: Keybinding Importing and Exporting

Star Wars: The old Republic – Knights of the fallen empire is coming with a cool new feature.  With the new game update, players will be able to import and export their keybings. How cool is that? Game Update 4.0 New Feature: Keybinding Importing and Exporting | 09.21.2015, 09:13 AM One feature I pretty consistently see requested is the ability to copy your keybindings from one character to another, so I’m happy to say with the release of 4.0 you’ll be able to do just that. When 4.0 launches you’ll notice a new tab in the preference window labeled “Keybinding Import/Export” from there you’ll be able to save out your current keybindings to a file which you can then load on another character. When you save the keybinding they’ll show up in a list which you can then select to preview and load those saved bindings. The list of keybindings…

SWTOR 4.0 Class Changes: Bounty Hunter and Trooper (Video Overviews by Vulkk)

In the following 2 videos you can see and hear the details about the recent changes Bioware announced today for the Bounty Hunter and Trooper Classes in Knights of the Fallen Empire, the next Digital Expansion of SWTOR. Narrated and recorded by Vulkk. In a nutshell, players receive 1 new ability at lvl 61, reshuffle of active and passive abilities gained through leveling with no change of their effects (for now) and 3 new Utilities, 1 for each tier. Bioware’s short message and reasoning for these changes: Whether you prefer bullets, missiles, or just plain fire, Bounty Hunters and Troopers have something for you! In Game Update 4.0, we wanted to give all Powertechs/Vanguards a quick way to jump into the thick of combat or instantly catch back up to a fleeing target. To accomplish this, we made Jet Charge/Storm baseline for all Powertechs/Vanguards. Getting up in the enemy’s face isn’t something…

Knights of the Fallen Empire Behind the Scenes

Knights of the Fallen Empire “Story and Writing” Video We have something cool released today to help us prepare for the new expansion: KOTFE. This video released today shows us an exclusive behind the scenes view from the lead writer. It’s fun, it’s creative and it’s bound to make you get excited about the upcoming expansion. That said, they didn’t release much more about the game or story, as most fans were hoping for. This serves really as more of a teaser video, once again giving us glimpses of what we can expect to get us hyped and excited for the expansion but without any real meat and potatoes of what we can expect. This is a bit of a letdown but again, not really a surprise. They want to keep us intrigued but not give away too much so we want to buy the expansion. So with that in…

KOTFE Datamined Info

There is a lot of information about KOTFE coming through to us from torcommunity.com. Of this. we have some datamined info about end game gear, something most fans are anxious to see. PvE End Game Gear   This is the set bonus gear in KOTFE for PvE. It appears that you can now mix PvE and PvP armorings to get the set bonus too, however this could be a bug. Previously PvE and PvP set bonuses would not count towards the same bonus. All the below gear contains set bonus armourings (if an armouring is present). Not all Main and offhands are shown due to the sheer volume of them. Some specs have examples to show stat distribution. Stat Change Reminder All main stats (e.g. Willpower, Aim) have been merged into one new stat called Mastery. Surge has been removed. Critical rating now impacts both critical chance and critical multiplier. Critical…

KOTFE in LEGO

Allow me to remind everyone again of how I love Star Wars and LEGO. Then you’ll understand why I love this fan art done with LEGO to represent KOTFE and I think you can appreciate it too, even if you’re not a big LEGO fan like me. These were created by a fan named Qeusen and posted to DeviantArt and took about an hour to render. The eyebrows are an especially nice touch (you’ll know what I mean if you saw the trailer). It will be nice if we get more actual TOR LEGO sets. And if the new movie gets an accompanying LEGO game, all the better! This is a very cute fan creation, however. While it’d surely take forever, it’d be awesome to see the entire trailer done in LEGO. Do you have any LEGO Star Wars/ LEGO TOR creations of your own? We want to see them!…

SWTOR Conquest Changes in Fallen Empire

The removal of Nightmare Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace, isn’t the only news BioWare have for us today.  Players can expect some conquest changes in the upcoming expansion. Conquest Changes in Fallen Empire | 09.08.2015, 04:32 PM Hey folks, In Fallen Empire we will be making changes to Conquests so I wanted to let you know about what is being adjusted. One thing that we noticed in looking at Conquests is that not as many players as we would hope are completing their personal targets. We feel this may be because the targets are too high, requiring more time to complete than many players may have available. Because of this we are adjusting the target points for rewards in some Conquests: All Conquests which previously required 35,000 target points have had that target number reduced to 20,000. Titans of Industry will remain at 25,000 target points. Total Galactic War will remain…

SWTOR: EV and KP Nightmare Removal in Fallen Empire

BioWare is removing Nightmare Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace  with the launch of  Knights of the Fallen Empire: EV and KP Nightmare Removal in Fallen Empire | 09.08.2015, 04:24 PM Hey folks, Around launch when we implemented the Nightmare versions of Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace, they were not quite the same as the Nightmare modes you are used to now. Basically, those old Nightmare ops were simply the same Operations with more health, that did more damage. With the changes we are making in Fallen Empire, all Operations will now be at max level, this means the differences between Hard and Nightmare EV and KP, just don’t stack up against the difficulty differences found in other Operations. Because of this, we are going to be removing Nightmare Mode Eternity Vault and Karagga’s Palace from the game with the launch of Fallen Empire. This will raise a couple of questions…
