Ewan McGregor Wants One More Star Wars Wish Fulfilled — Obi-Wan in Clone Wars Armor

Two Jedi warriors seen from behind with blue lightsabers in Clone Wars–inspired armor, representing a potential live-action Obi-Wan Clone Wars story

In a franchise that rarely looks backward without a plan, Ewan McGregor just made a surprisingly grounded request: he wants to wear Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Clone Wars armor in live action—and he wants to do it alongside Hayden Christensen. “I want to get that [Clone Wars] armor on,” McGregor said at Fan Expo Chicago. “That armor stuff. Come on now… Hopefully, Hayden and I get to do more.” It’s a simple wish. And that’s exactly why it matters. Why This Matters Now Star Wars is in a moment of recalibration. After years of rapid expansion, Lucasfilm has slowed its pace, choosing projects more carefully and letting nostalgia breathe instead of flooding the market with it. Against that backdrop, McGregor’s comment doesn’t feel like fan-service bait. It feels like a reminder of an era that still hasn’t been fully explored in live action—despite being one of the most beloved periods in Star…

James Cameron Says Star Wars Is the Reason He Became a Filmmaker

James Cameron portrait beside the Star Wars logo with cinematic space background illustrating how Star Wars inspired his filmmaking career

James Cameron didn’t just watch Star Wars.He saw his own imagination projected onto a movie screen. And that realization, he says, is what pushed him toward becoming a filmmaker. A moment of recognition, not imitation In a recent interview with CBS, Cameron reflected on the first time he experienced George Lucas’ 1977 space opera—and how unsettlingly familiar it felt. As a teenager, Cameron would listen to fast electronic music on headphones, imagining elaborate space battles filled with energy weapons and complex maneuvers. Then Star Wars arrived. “I would’ve thought, ‘They took that from my brain,’” Cameron said, before laughing at the idea. His actual conclusion was far more practical—and far more important. If the images in his head matched what audiences were lining up to see in the biggest movie in the world, then maybe his imagination had value. Maybe it was something people would actually pay to experience. That…

Bobby Moynihan Is Bringing His Voice to Star Wars: Beyond Victory — and That’s the Point

Bobby Moynihan pictured alongside a Star Wars droid in promotional artwork for Star Wars Beyond Victory, an upcoming ILM Immersive mixed reality experience

Star Wars has no shortage of epic heroes, but right now, it’s the side characters who are doing something interesting. In a new interview with Industrial Light & Magic, Bobby Moynihan talks about his role in Star Wars: Beyond Victory, ILM Immersive’s upcoming mixed-reality experience — and why this project feels different from traditional Star Wars storytelling. Not louder. Not bigger. Just more personal. What Beyond Victory actually is Star Wars: Beyond Victory is an immersive Star Wars experience being developed by ILM Immersive, the same team behind Vader Immortal and Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge. It’s designed for mixed reality, blending the physical space around the player with Star Wars environments and characters. Rather than placing players in the middle of galaxy-spanning events, the story focuses on a more grounded corner of the universe, with podracing culture playing a central role. Moynihan voices a key character in that world…

Mark Hamill Says Luke Skywalker’s Ending in The Last Jedi Was “A Nice Exit” — And He Means It

Mark Hamill reflects on Luke Skywalker’s final moment in The Last Jedi

Few topics in modern Star Wars spark debate quite like Luke Skywalker’s fate in The Last Jedi. But while fans have argued about it for years, the man who is Luke Skywalker has been remarkably consistent about one thing: Mark Hamill is at peace with how it ended. In a past interview with CBS This Morning, Hamill explained that not only did he accept Luke’s death—he felt it was the right moment to step away from the franchise. And in classic Hamill fashion, he framed it with grace rather than controversy. “You Want to Dignify a Good Exit” Hamill’s words were simple, thoughtful, and very on-brand for someone who’s spent decades navigating pop-culture immortality. “In fact, not only did I think that was the right time to leave that franchise, I thought that’s a nice exit. Because as much as you enjoy a good entrance, you want to dignify a…

Sigourney Weaver Cheekily Breaks Down What It’s Like to Hang with A Group of Grogus on The Mandalorian & Grogu

Headline graphic revealing Sigourney Weaver says there are multiple Grogus used on The Mandalorian set

If you ever wondered what it looks like when Alien royalty meets the galaxy’s cutest little green Force-sensitive, Sigourney Weaver has given us the delightfully nerdy behind-the-scenes scoop. And it’s just as charming as Grogu himself. In a recent interview, the legendary actress—who’s joining the cast of The Mandalorian & Grogu—let slip a wonderfully specific detail: that filming with Grogu actually meant spending time with a whole group of them. Yep, not just one. A group. And according to Weaver, they each brought something special to the set. “There’s the Grogu that walks sometimes, and the Grogu that does weird faces, and then there’s another Grogu that does that, whatever it is — the Force?” Weaver laughed, recalling the mechanics behind bringing the beloved character to life. A Multi-Grogu Ensemble (Seriously) Here’s the fun part: Grogu isn’t just one puppet or CGI creation. On set, multiple performers and puppeteers work…

Rian Johnson Says The Last Jedi and Wake Up Dead Man Are Spiritually Connected — And Suddenly Everything Clicks

Rian Johnson shown between Star Wars The Last Jedi imagery and Wake Up Dead Man visuals highlighting a spiritual connection

Rian Johnson has never been shy about talking themes, subtext, or why The Last Jedi hit audiences the way it did. But his latest comment might be one of the most revealing things he’s ever said about the film—and it reframes The Last Jedi in a way that feels both heavier and more human. According to Johnson, there’s a “spiritual connection” between Star Wars: The Last Jedi and his upcoming Knives Out sequel, Wake Up Dead Man. And no, this isn’t about plot, genre, or cinematic Easter eggs. It’s about grief. Faith. And asking uncomfortable questions when the universe goes quiet. Star Wars, But Make It Spiritual (On Purpose) Johnson recently explained that when he wrote The Last Jedi, Star Wars wasn’t just a sci-fi sandbox—it was something closer to religion. And honestly? That tracks. Star Wars has always borrowed heavily from myth, belief systems, and spiritual ideas. The Force…

Andor Writer Dan Gilroy Explains Why Mon Mothma’s Speech Felt So Real

Mon Mothma delivers her Senate speech in Andor as writer Dan Gilroy explains the real-world political inspiration behind the scene.

One of the most powerful moments in Andor wasn’t an explosion, a chase, or a secret mission — it was Mon Mothma standing in the Senate and speaking the truth, knowing exactly what it would cost her. According to Andor screenwriter Dan Gilroy, that moment didn’t come from Star Wars lore alone. It came from anger — very real, very current anger — at what he was watching unfold in the real world. Writing Star Wars Through a Real-World Lens Gilroy has revealed that as he began writing the episode featuring Mon Mothma’s Senate speech, he was closely following contemporary politics. What he saw directly shaped the scene. He described watching senators and elected officials abandon democratic principles, choosing comfort, safety, or power over accountability. That frustration carried straight into the writing process. When Mon Mothma speaks in the Senate, she isn’t just addressing the Empire. She’s confronting a system…

Mark Hamill Reveals His Favorite Star Wars Quote — And It’s Not What You’d Expect

Graphic highlighting Mark Hamill revealing his favorite Star Wars quote

After more than four decades in a galaxy far, far away, Mark Hamill has delivered countless iconic lines as Luke Skywalker. But when asked to name his favorite Star Wars quote of all time, Hamill didn’t choose something heroic, philosophical, or Force-related. Instead, he picked a line that quietly runs through almost every Star Wars film. “My favorite from the space movies was, ‘I have a very bad feeling about this.’And they gave it to a character in every movie—somebody else said it!” It’s a choice that says a lot about Star Wars — and about Hamill’s affection for the saga’s shared traditions. A Line That Became a Tradition “I have a very bad feeling about this” isn’t tied to one character, one trilogy, or even one era. It’s a recurring phrase that has appeared across the original trilogy, the prequels, the sequels, animated series, and beyond. Sometimes it’s delivered…

Bryan Fuller Says ANDOR’s “Who Are You” Is the Most Important Episode of Television This Year — And Maybe for Years to Come

Promotional image featuring a stylized portrait of Cassian Andor on the left and bold text on the right reading: “Bryan Fuller calls Andor’s ‘Who Are You?’ the most important TV episode of the year,” set against a dark, cinematic background.

When Bryan Fuller — the creator behind Star Trek: Discovery, Hannibal, and Pushing Daisies — calls something “the most important episode of television this year, and probably for many years to come,” that’s not casual praise. Fuller recently directed that bold statement at “Who Are You,” Episode 8 of Andor Season 2, and the comment has sent a shockwave through both Star Wars and sci-fi fandom. Source According to Fuller, Andor isn’t just delivering good Star Wars — it’s delivering exceptional television, period. Why Bryan Fuller Thinks “Who Are You?” Is a Landmark Episode Fuller’s praise isn’t the typical “this show is great” sentiment. His comment suggests that “Who Are You?” reaches a level of emotional weight, thematic precision, and cinematic ambition rarely seen in modern genre TV. While he didn’t break down every detail, his reaction implies the episode excels in several ways: Put simply: this isn’t an episode…

The hype around Star Wars: Starfighter just got another boost — this time from one of its stars. During a recent interview, Mia Goth shared glowing praise for director Shawn Levy and described her experience on the film as nothing short of “incredible.” Goth, known for her work in X, Pearl, and MaXXXine, is diving into her first Star Wars project — and according to her, the energy on set is unlike anything she’s experienced before. Mia Goth on Shawn Levy: “He’s Electric” Speaking about her time on the film, Goth didn’t hold back: “Shawn [Levy] has an energy I’ve never met in any other. He’s electric. And it has a trickle-down effect on the rest of the set. He’s so excited. He’s so inspired. And it’s contagious, and everyone else benefits from it.” That’s high praise coming from an actress who has worked with a wide range of visionary…

Claudia Black Reveals She Won’t Return as Mother Klothow in Ahsoka Season 2 — Here’s Why

Three witch-like red-robed alien sorceresses with dark markings and overlaid text announcing Claudia Black’s exit from Ahsoka Season 2.

Claudia Black has confirmed she will not reprise her role as Mother Klothow in Ahsoka Season 2, and the reason has nothing to do with story direction, creative disagreement, or performance. It comes down to something far more real: logistics and livelihood. In an honest, heartfelt explanation, Black revealed that although Lucasfilm initially intended for her to return, the studio ultimately couldn’t meet the financial needs required for her to participate — especially as a single parent based in Los Angeles while production moves overseas. “I’m going to be transparent. They picked up season two, picked me up with it, and then Disney, which is structuring things differently these days, could not pay me what I needed to be paid as a single mother to keep all my responsibilities going at home in Los Angeles, because they were filming in London. It was not something that they could make happen,…

Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Is “Effectively Dead,” Says The Hollywood Reporter

Stylized image of filmmaker Rian Johnson with the text “Rian Johnson’s Star Wars Trilogy Is Effectively Dead” over a dark sci-fi background.

It’s the end of a long-running Star Wars mystery:Director Rian Johnson’s planned Star Wars trilogy — announced all the way back in 2017 — is now “effectively dead,” according to The Hollywood Reporter’s new profile on the filmmaker. While Johnson is currently busy celebrating the premiere of his new film Wake Up Dead Man, the article finally gives us a clear update on the trilogy many fans assumed had quietly vanished into hyperspace. Now, we have confirmation: it’s not happening. And maybe never really was. From The Last Jedi to “What Could Have Been” Johnson’s relationship with Star Wars began with The Last Jedi (2017), one of the most talked-about and debated films in the franchise’s history. THR notes that Johnson created TLJ in what he describes as a “beautiful, fearless little bubble,” focused entirely on the creative work and not the outside noise. That noise, of course, arrived later…

Star Wars: Hunters Was Not a Failure, Zynga’s CEO Says

Star Wars: Hunters Season 5 Extended—What This Means for Season 6

In a candid interview with The Game Business, Zynga CEO Frank Gibeau strongly defended Star Wars: Hunters, insisting the game wasn’t a failure, despite being shuttered earlier this year. His perspective offers valuable lessons on what success really means in the mobile gaming battlefield. 🎙️ “Star Wars: Hunters Was No Failure” Gibeau acknowledged Hunters didn’t meet commercial expectations, but praised its strengths. He said: “We built a great tech base and a fun game… but it wasn’t a viable business. We weren’t able to generate the organic installs from the license… It didn’t engage over the long term.” He added: “We don’t really consider them failures at the company… For every game that doesn’t reach its full potential, we go back, postmortem it, figure out what went right… and share that learning across the company.” So, Gibeau is clear: failing to go viral doesn’t equal failure—especially if you’ve built something…

The Star Wars Show That Could Have Changed Everything – Rick McCallum Reveals All

Imagine a Star Wars show so dark, so gritty, so wildly ambitious that it made executives break into a cold sweat. That was Star Wars: Underworld, the long-lost TV series that George Lucas and producer Rick McCallum spent years developing—only for it to never see the light of day. Now, thanks to McCallum spilling the details in a recent interview, we finally have a clearer picture of what could have been. And honestly? It sounds like it would have been insane (in the best way possible). Star Wars: Underworld – What Was It? Set in the seedy underbelly of Coruscant, Star Wars: Underworld was meant to explore crime, corruption, and power struggles in the galaxy’s biggest city. Think The Godfather meets Star Wars, but with bounty hunters, smugglers, and a whole lot of moral gray areas. Over 60 scripts were written, detailing stories that would have shattered everything we thought…

She noted that while some narratives are propelled by events, others focus deeply on character arcs, aiming to create a balanced and engaging experience for players. Crafting Player-Centric Stories Ruhl discussed the challenges of writing stories from the perspective of the player character, especially given the diverse backgrounds and choices players can make. She highlighted the importance of flexibility in the narrative to accommodate various player decisions, ensuring that each player’s journey feels unique and personal. Mark Hamill Advocates for Luke Skywalker’s Recasting

Mark Hamill Advocates for Luke Skywalker's Recasting

In a galaxy far, far away, the debate over CGI and deepfake technology in the Star Wars universe has taken a new turn. The original Luke Skywalker himself, Mark Hamill, has been making some waves, and his views are as intriguing as a good old-fashioned Mos Eisley cantina gossip. Hamill, a seminal figure in the Star Wars saga, has appeared as Luke in six out of nine feature films. He’s also made appearances in “The Mandalorian” and “The Book of Boba Fett,” including some recent moments where his younger face was deepfaked onto another actor’s body to resurrect young Luke. But now in an interview with esquire, it seems he’s ready to hang up his lightsaber and pass it onto a new generation. Hamill’s Run-In with CGI and Deepfakes: After Luke’s death in “The Last Jedi,” Hamill stepped back from the series, having disagreed with some creative choices. He was,…

SWTOR: PvP Interview with Eric Musco [video]

If you’re looking to catch up on the state of PvP in SWTOR, then you will want to check out this interview with Eric Musco. Snave and Musco get together and talk PvP and while it’s a long watch (or listen), it’s worth it to see Snave pick Musco’s brain for a bit. As always, PvP is a hot topic in SWTOR (isn’t it in any MMORPG?) so there are going to be a lot of varying opinions on this. Does Musco really give any new info or is it doing the typical dance of answering-without-really-answering? I’d say he’s probably paid for the latter but there are still some tidbits you can pick up from it and some people like to read between the lines and speculate on this or that. As usual, we want to know what you think. Here you can see it for yourself: “My second interview with SWTOR…

BioWare goes back to its roots for: Knights of the Fallen Empire What goes into crafting the new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire? Creative director Jesse Sky takes things back to the beginning. Back to basics Last year, I decided to re-watch The Empire Strikes Back® and write down everything that shocked the audience back in its original theatrical run. It’s a very long list. That film packs a real emotional punch—it’s full of twists, betrayals and revelations the entire way through. I’ve wanted to tell a Star Wars™ story like that ever since the first time I saw it. When we began conceptualizing Knights of the Fallen Empire, the story…

BioWare Writer Talks Gay Romances and Sexual Diversity in Gaming

BioWare’s lead writer and developer for Mass Effect and Dragon Age, David Gaider, has decided to address the popular topic of sexual diversity in video games. Gaider is a 16-year veteran of the RPG studio and he recently wrote for Dragon Age: Inquisition. He began his interview by going over his reaction after he learned that BioWare’s 2005 RPG Jade Empire would allow gamers to have gay romances. “I remember hearing about when they made that decision to put it in and I was floored,” Gaider told Video Game Sophistry. “I mean, I’m gay myself, so I felt it kind of odd when I heard about it, how shocked I was because I just never thought that part of my life had a role to play in work. Like I said, it just wasn’t done. I didn’t even really consider the idea, so when they made that decision it was…

But i do sound like the games PVP wont get much better in the future. Personally I am not surprised or remotely happy with the PvP answers but I partially understand where Musco is coming from. He has a rough job. Their “better than cross-server” is likely to be something like “Queue for 500 matches this month and get the rest of the Baron Deathmark gear!” This is the mentality that they have, and it’s harmful. Hopefully iy will change in the future though!
