Just how well is Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens doing since its release? Well, pretty darn good. It’s even topping the charts in the UK. Gamespot is reporting that for it’s debut week, which ended July 2nd, Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens shot to the top of the United Kingdom’s sale charts. It came in over big titles such as Overwatch, Doom, and FIFA 16. Stats also show that it is the fourth largest Lego video game launch ever. Taken from one of the biggest hits of the 80s, this video recreates the last dance scene, using images taken from Star Wars Galaxies (MMORPG). It’s actually really well done and spot on with the scene from the movie. I’m not sure how many people were involved in making this video happen but they did a fantastic job. Star Wars would make an awesome theme for a slot machine! It has everything – missions, characters, a Light and a Dark side, lasers, fights, as well as greedy gangsters and idealistic statesmen. Unfortunately, Lucasfilm only approved a land-based slot machine based on the franchise, and Disney has removed that one, too – probably with the goal of making the SW universe more kid-friendly (although the number of blasted stormtroopers and severed limbs makes it a less than ideal story for a kid, I think). Not only was it recently announced that Darth Vader will be back in Rogue One, we also got some fun info about the voice actor. James Earl Jones is going to be back. While it’s 19 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, Vader won’t be the same type of threat that we saw in A New Hope. This live action return will be small, but still welcomed by fans of the iconic villain. This comes after there were various appearances in the animated series Star Wars Rebels. According to executive producer Kathleen Kennedy, as said to Entertainment Weekly: “He will be in the movie sparingly. SWTOR ranked in the top five of the highest worldwide pay-to-play MMOs for the month of May. This is not surprising if you’ve been following the revenue and the stats but it might be surprising for people who don’t realize that SWTOR is still doing quite well. While it’s true that the popularity of the new Star Wars films may have increased the number of people looking to play the game, SWTOR still fared pretty well before. The new Star Wars craze is likely only going to increase that even more. I don’t think anyone is really surprised to see World of Warcraft still holding the top spot there. Star Wars: Battfront Bespin Out for Season Pass Holders
The second one of the promised Star Wars: Battlefront DLCs has landed a few days ago for Season Pass holders (if you invested the $50 into a Season Pass, you can already play it), for PlayStation 4, PC and Xbox One, and indeed, some problems with the new content have already surfaced, to the frustration of those who have invested the most into the game. Taking players on a trip through Cloud City, another iconic location of the Star Wars Universe, Bespin delivers two new heroes, in the smuggler Lando Calrissian and the bounty hunter Dengar. It also tweaks some of the existing heroes in various ways, and it has also rolled out a server-side bug-fix already, to address the above mentioned issues. BioWare is considering expanding the max amount of character slots to 50 in Star Wars: The old Republic. This is to accommodate the Dark vs Light event. Maximum Character Slots Per Server | 06.28.2016, 03:07 PM Hey folks! One of the questions that came out of the Dark vs. Light Event announcement was the current maximum character limits per server. There are some players who have all 40 slots filled, and were concerned about participating in the event. I wanted to let you know that we are actively testing right now the possibility of increasing that maximum by 10. That would mean that a subscriber could have a server maximum of 50 characters. We are exploring if this is a safe change to make and I am hopeful that I will have an answer about this today. As soon as I have any other information I will pass it on….

Chicago Star Wars Museum Cancelled
In what would have given us another good reason to visit Chicago, we now have news that George Lucas has cancelled the plans to build a Star Wars museum. The Chicago Tribune recently reported that Lucas has halted his Windy City plans to build The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. It would seem that Lucas has spent the past two years arguing with the city of Chicago over the land the museum was to be built on. The story says that back in 2014, a group called Friends of the Parks filed a lawsuit that sought to stop the museum from being built on the Chicago lakefront. they say that anything build on the lakefront has to specifically benefit the citizens of Chicago since this land belongs to them. Star Wars Galaxies Fan Fest (2005)
Back in the day, there were two Fan Fests for Star Wars Galaxies. LucasArts hosted these events as a way to honor and celebrate the many fans of the game, and also to provide a way for them to all come together and meet. The 2004 Fan Fest was held at the Hilton Anaheim in June. It was a great time to be in California as the weather is great and of course, the venue was wonderful. Players had the chance to meet one another and also to talk to developers, participate in panels, and play in in-game and live events. Tickets ran from $89-100, depending on if you pre-purchased or got them at the door. It was a lot of fun, as these types of fan events tend to be.
