SWTOR YuGiOh? Yes, It’s a Thing

YuGiOh “Peril on Makeb” SWTOR Fan We found another cool SWTOR fan-inspired creation. shyherdier “got bored” and made a mini set of YuGiOh based SWTOR cards. They are really creative and some of them are quite funny. I’d love to see this fan make a full deck of these. If you could add any cards to this set, what would they be? What would they say? SWTOR The Trading Card Game could totally be a thing (hey, it worked for Wow, sort of). So, what do you think? The art is pretty awesome. If you ask me, I’d play this game. 🙂 Inspired by the user above, cuckingfomputer made this entire deck. It’s worth taking the time to read through all of the cards. Inquisitor Starter Deck

TOR TV: The Appropriate Way to Respond to a Game-breaking Bug

The Haunted Ship Here’s a fun little bug from 2012 that some of you might remember. “As it turns out, there’s a bug that’s existed in Star Wars: The Old Republic for some time now. If you’re a Jedi and try getting onto a Smuggler’s ship, you’ll be trapped in this ghost instance where you can’t leave or do anything, but everyone can still see you. You’re basically a ghost, haunting peoples’ ships. Annoying at the time, but hilarious in retrospect.” We find this entertaining for two reasons. One: it reminds us of the early days of SWTOR and two: we love seeing fun videos of people being silly and making the most of a bad situation. For those of you who remember, this bug would trap you inside the ship, putting you into other people’s ships and you could not escape until later when they released a patch. Escape…

TOR Databases + Site Framework Kickstarter for TORCommunity (to replace Torhead + AMR)

TORCommunity is creating the framework to power SWTOR databases to replace Torhead and Ask Mr. Robot. They need your help to fund them! Even above and beyond the 120 backers who have funded nearly $5,000 so far, we also have people who are stepping up to volunteer their services such as translating to different languages. This is something I have always found impressive about the SWTOR community over all these years. You all step up when needed to try to make the community better. Sure, there are bad apples in every bunch but overall, the community really cares about the game, about Star Wars and about one another and it shows in the volunteerism many show in times like these. One thing the community has oft complained about is Bioware’s lack of official tools and API support. This creates hurdles the community has to jump in order to have tools…

New Dev Post – 3.2 PTS Feedback Communiqué

System Designer John Jarynowski took on the forums to address some of the Patch 3.2 feedback regarding class balance. Fine members of the galactic community, Just wanted to pop up and thank you all for the continued feedback. We are testing many of your ideas presently. Even if some of these changes do not come around in this patch cycle, we are archiving community perspectives/ideas for future updates. To help curb some continued points of contention that I’ve seen, I’d like to address two particular areas: 1) Many of you are concerned about melee viability against bosses in various Flashpoints and Operations. We have all heard your cries, and I know that our Encounter Designers are actively assessing improvement strategies. That aside, I want to clarify that we, the Combat Team, will not reconfigure an entire class or Discipline around a single boss encounter. While we continually work to improve…

SWTOR PTS Update: Armor Weight Restrictions removed from Outfit Designer

Tait Watson posted an update from the public test servers. BioWare will be removing armor weight restrictions from the upcoming Outfit Designer. As we understand it, this will mean that light armor classes can now wear heavy armor etc in the outfit designer and heavy armor classes can wear light armor. Check it out: Outfit designer still obeys class/armor restrictions | 03.30.2015, 05:41 PM Hey everyone, We were able to get the change to armor weight restrictions implemented, and it will be available on the PTS with the bug fix build that is going live today. -Tait PTS Update – March 30th, 2015 | 03.30.2015, 05:43 PM Hey folks! We will be taking down the PTS shortly in order to apply a small bug fix patch. As we don’t note bug fixes on PTS builds, no notes will accompany this update. However, I do want to point out that the…

5 Fantastic Star Wars board games

For Star Wars fans there is nothing like the feeling of playing your favorite Star Wars game or watching your favorite Star Wars movies, but did you know there are some epic Star Wars board games out there? If not, here is a list of tabletop Star Wars games that you should check out, you can thank us later. Star Wars: Armada Want to plan your own spaceships course? Look no further than Star Wars: Armada. It takes some time to become a pro at this game, but true Star Wars fans will love it! Armada might seem a bit overwhelming (and a bit too geeky) at first. You use a plastic stick with a series of joints to plot the course of your ships. There are shields to consider on each side of your big ships, with dials to turn as you take damage. Do you want to use…

Could a Star Wars: Battlefront Novel Be in the works?

The new paperback version of A New Dawn is on the verge of publication and it features a official timeline. This timeline gives you information about different types of media surrounding the Star Wars saga. There is an interesting note in this that shows a new novel is in development in addition to Aftermath and Dark Disciple. Many will think that the Battlefront title is only referring to the upcoming video game, you should know that television shows are only listed as television shows and movies are listed separately. Based on these terms, a conclusion has been drawn that a video game should be listed under its own separate banner as well, but this is not labeled as such. There is no definite answer yet, but we think a new novel is sure to come.

‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ 5 Features Fans Want Most: 2015 Release Date, Gameplay, Story, DLC And More

As many of you know,  Star Wars: Battlefront  was confirmed to be showcased at Star Wars Celebration on  between April 16th and 19th of this year by EA and DICE. Fans don’t have very much information at all about Star Wars: Battlefront but let’s go over some aspects the game needs to have to really wow the crowd. The Star Wars: Battlefront legacy is notorious for being a first person shooter style game and nothing else. Many longtime players will remember that both “Battlefield” games did offer players a choice between first and third person shooters. Many fans enjoy the option of this style of gameplay, so we think creators definitely need to include this in the game. Fans of Star Wars: Battlefront typically love the multiplayer gameplay but we think creators need to focus on a more expansive story line as well. There have been a few rumors that suggests a…

SWTOR Stays on Pace for Most Played PC Games in February 2015

Raptr’s newest most played list for PC games is out and we see SWTOR still holding strong in the Top 20 at position 15. February’s Most Played PC Games list looked pretty similar to January’s but with one big addition: Blizzard’s MOBA contender Heroes of the Storm! The top 5 games has remained pretty much the same over the past few months but something else that has remained consistent is SWTOR on the list. We’ve seen some other games move around here and there due to different factors. Battlefield 4 gained four spots in February, which is likely because of people preparing for the release of Hardline. Hearthstone lost 3 places and Dragon Age Inquisition lost a whopping 10 spaces on the list. ouch! Final Fantasy XIV and Guild Wars 2 both moved up two ranks. The free login weekend at the end of the month probably helped Final Fantasy move…

SWTOR Outfit Designer Restrictions

Tait Watson posted an update on the offocial forums regarding Outfit Designer restrictions. BioWaer is still mproving the Outfit Designer and will add in some of the requested features after 3.2 Outfit designer still obeys class/armor restrictions | 03.25.2015, 04:02 PM Hey everyone, We think having the Outfit Designer ignore armor weight restrictions is a great idea! We are actively exploring changing this now, and I’ll let you know as soon as I know anything else. I’ve also seen the mention of weapons and Companions being included in the Outfit Designer. Even though it may not seem like it, adding an Outfit Designer tab for Companions would effectively be creating a new system. Due to this we won’t be implementing one for 3.2, but will look into the option for a future release. Similarly, adding the ability to stamp weapons would require a lot of changes to the backend of…

Much of my time will be spent scouring the forums, blogisphere, and social media platforms to track community sentiment on a day-to-day basis. I’ll be consolidating your comments and concerns into detailed reports, which will be disseminated regularly amongst the Community, Development, Leadership, and other key teams here at BioWare Austin. The sooner your feedback reaches the eyes and ears of senior staffers, the more accurately and effectively we can respond…

Star Wars: Battlefront Just a Month Away

Star Wars fans only have about a month to wait for the unveiling of Star Wars: Battlefront, quite possibly the most hotly anticipated Star Wars gaming title ever. While they will not be able to get their hands on the game just yet (the title is set for a December 2015 release), they will probably be able to feast their thirsty eyes on some in-game action and the hype-machine will be fed some new crumbs of information/details to keep its gears turning. Officially announced at last year’s E3, Star Wars: Battlefront has already offered a precious few glimpses into the virtual world that EA is hoping will lure scores and scores of players to the title, and everyone was quite impressed with what they saw. Starting April 16 though, at the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim, CA, fans are likely to see a different beast, with close to a year’s…

SWTOR Basics – How to Install PTS and Copy Your Character

Installing PTS is usually a very simple tutorial, but it would take you hours. Depending on your internet connection and the BW servers’ condition, it will take you between a couple hours to many, many hours. The live game is ~25GB, the Game with PTS is ~52GB. If you have the game already installed, you can add PTS on top of it. At this moment it is not possible (possible, but not easy or recommended) to install PTS on a separate Drive or Partition. To install and access PTS, follow these steps (or check the video linked below): 1. Download the game client from swtor.com and install it 2. Log in to the client and install the Live game 3. From the button in the bottom left corner open the settings window and make PTS available 4. Wait for the client to download and install PTS 5. Every time when you open…

Currently, there are three Star Wars games in the works for PC and console gaming systems and the three development companies are Visceral Games, DICE, and BioWare. They all belong to the EA Games Company. BioWare delivered us the RPG game Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic during 2003 and DICE is scheduled to release Star Wars: Battlefront close to the end of 2015. Visceral and EA recently gave an announcement that Amy Hennig would be responsible for the story line for the new Star Wars game. Darth Vader Stress Toy from ThinkGeek.com

Sometimes you just need to squeeze the head of a Vader when you’re feeling stressed, right? Well, ThinkGeek wants to help you out with this. We think Vader knows a thing or two about being stressed out as well. This is another cool product we got to review from ThinkGeek and while I got it some time back. I like to actually use products for awhile before just posting reviews and saying, “Yea, it’s great.” So I had to check it out for a bit. The head is squishy enough and sized well for my hand (I have small hands so some are too large). The unique shape also made is easier for me to hold. It was not too hard (like some stress balls I have used) and not so soft that it felt it wasn’t useful. It also didn’t tear apart after just a week or two, something…

We don’t know when more information will be released on Shattered Empire but you do need to know that the Star Wars Celebration is less than a month away. StarWars.com is calling Shattered Empire Marvel’s very first entry into Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Could this mean that…

Some other films he has been a part of are Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, The Kings Speech, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Argo, The Queen and Zero Dark Thirty.
