Anyone who has read my posts here knows that I am a Star Wars games fan. I think most of us can say the same, that’s why you’re here reading this. What you might not know is that I am also a big fan of the 16-bit generation. I was born in the 80s and I grew up in the heyday of the Super Nintendo and SEGA Genesis generations. StarWars.com has written a post featuring the best Star Wars games of the 16-bit generation and I gotta say, the nostalgia is strong! After looking over their list, I have to say that I agree with most of them. Here are the games that made their list. You can read the full post to see why they chose each one. StarWars Uprising: Gear Types and Stats

There is a great post in the Uprising Subreddit that gives you all the info you need to know about gear types and stats. It has since been added to the game guides section so you can find it along with other great tools to help you in Star Wars: Uprising. Here is an overview: All the gear in the game has 3 primary stats, and 0 to 3 secondary stats. All of those stats can belong to one of 3 main categories: Offensive, Defensive and Utility. Please note that only Offensive and Defensive stats matter for PR, while Utility has more intangible advantages. At the moment precise correlation between the stats in the PR formula is unknown; it is clear that there’s no simple arithmetic addition or even multiplication, there’s more behind the curtain, but at least it’s clear that the addition of more stat usually gives more PR than comparison…

The Old Republic: Rescue Mission – (2015) Short Film

Many fans of Star Wars think that the best Star Wars game that was ever made it Knights of the Old Republic, and some will disagree. There is a new Australian fan film that has been between the events of the Drew Karpyshyn’s novel and the KOTOR game, and it’s actually quite good. It’s not just good for a fan made film, but it’s actually really good. It stinks that the expanded universe stuff has all been voted as non-canon during the wake of the upcoming movies. However, in a strange way it puts all of the half-decent fan-fiction on an even level with things like the game. In other words, it seems to make it easier for certain people to have great fun with the Star Wars world. No matter what, this is actually a high quality production and it features great acting and perfect outfits. It’s definitely worth…

Websites crashed, hashtags soared to the top of trending topics… it was being discussed in schools and workplaces everywhere. That is the power of Star Wars and the new film has people everywhere excited. This did not go unnoticed with Lucasfilm (and likely not unexpected either) so they took time to write up an official Thank You letter to fans. Knights of the Fallen Empire Feels More Like A Classic BioWare RPG, and that’s a good thing!

The new 4.0 for Star Wars: The Old Republic has changed everything, while a fresh expansion to one of the craziest multiplayer games is changing things too. Last year, a writer at kotaku asked developers that were working on the game, what their plans for the future were. What they told him is a phrase that they told him was “a return to BioWare cinematic storytelling.” However, he didn’t believe them at all, but they actually did what they said they were going to do. BioWare was responsible for last year’s expansion, Shadow of Revan, and it gave many people no hope for the games future. The expansion was really just an odd mashup of BioWare RPG and massive multiplayer online game tropes, with much lower production values. The writer from kotaku recently started playing Knights of the Fallen Empire, and it officially came out for all Star Wars subscribers…

Looking Back at the Massively Successful Star Wars: Battlefront Beta

With Star Wars: Battlefront‘s November 17 release date drawing near fast, the beta wrapped up the other day, bringing an end to the most successful beta-testing period in the history of EA. Indeed, to call Star Wars: Battlefront successful at this point in time would probably be a major understatement. To celebrate the record-breaking beta accomplishment, EA have decided to publish some statistics regarding the time players spent in the game world and their various accomplishments. The numbers do indeed speak for themselves. Apparently, more than 9 million players played the beta, pouring a combined 1.6 billion minutes into the game, enough time to watch the entire trilogy about 4.2 million times. Needless to say, all these people were busy within the game-world as about 6 million of them made it all the way to level 5 (the top level set in the beta). All those who made it this…

The Force Awakens First Order Hints In Star Wars: Uprising?

In this previous September, the Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens campaign began. This came along with a lot of brand new comics, books, and more clues that have started piecing together the 30 years that happens between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. The new mobile game called Star Wars: Uprising was released with the rest of the above. The game follows a smuggler who helps the Rebels when one part of the Empire creates a blockade around the Anoat sector. This then sections off Hoth and Bespin from the other areas of the galaxy. The game will only be remembered as a way for players to be a smuggler, but it has plenty of hints in it about the future of Star Wars. One of these hints was initially found by a MakingStarWars reader, Shi, and this inspired others to…

Knights of the Fallen Empire “Face Your Destiny” Launch Trailer

Star Wars: Battlefront isn’t the only game with a new trailer today. BioWare also has a release trailer for Knights of the fallen Empire, titled “Face your Destiny”. It is an all ingame trailer, but pretty awesome still. Only thing I don’t understand is, why they did  a whole trailer without mentioning the fact that we are becoming the OUTLANDER? Pretty big selling point of the game if you ask me. Knights of the Fallen Empire is a, “return to a deeper, more personal experience that delivers on the hallmarks of BioWare-style storytelling,” according to the developers. Players create their own adventure to new planets in the outer rim of the galaxy, meet companions and recruit them as allies, make choices that have the power to change destiny, and determine the fate of the galaxy. The expansion includes the first nine chapters of an evolving player-driven storyline, with new chapters…

Knights of the Fallen Empire Review

We’re all excited for Knights of the Fallen Empire and with the release date so close, we’re also anxious to see what early reviewers have to say about the expansion. Fraser Brown from PCGamesN had some interesting things to say about the expansion, including that it feels like a single-player game hiding in an MMO. This is technically something that has been said about SWTOR before but let’s go ahead and delve deeper into this KotFE review. “Knights of the Fallen Empire, then, is a potential course correction, steering the game toward that old pre-launch promise. It’s a mostly single-player expansion, focusing on the adventures of the Outlander, once the hero of the Galactic War, now the one obstacle in the way of the Eternal Empire’s dominance.  It’s a “quintessential Star Wars story,” lead writer Charles Boyd tells me as he walks me through an early key decision in the…

DICE has now acknowledged that Star Wars: Battlefront’s Walker Assault Mode is no balanced well, with it favoring the Imperials side over the Rebels, and has stated that they will take care of the problem before its released. On Twitter, one fan claimed that he never won a Walker Assault match while playing on the Rebel side in the beta. He asked, “Does this mean I suck?” The community manager for DICE, Matthew Everett replied with “Nope! It’s a balancing issue with the beta.” The lead multiplayer designer, Dennis Brannvall also added “Yeah, it’s too tough. We’ll make changes based on the feedback and data. Asymmetric modes are tricky and risky but potentially awesome, that’s why we want beta test help.” During the Walker Assault mode, the Rebel side is trying to destroy two Empire AT-ATs by securing outposts to call in Y-wing bombers. During this time, the Empire is…

Video: How Star Wars: Uprising connects Return of Jedi to Force Awakens

Star Wars games have a long history. While some have been a hit, others haven’t been. Some of the games capture the rich universe perfectly and makes it even enriched further. Others have used Star Wars to make a quick buck off of the fans and some should have probably known better when they purchased Kinect Star Wars. Star Wars: Uprising is a free mobile game and it connects some of the dots between Return of the Jedi and the upcoming installment of the Force Awakens. How much of the intervening period will it reveal? You have to play for a little while to find out or you can watch a video that this page is linked to at the bottom.
