BioWare just announced the complete SWTOR season 4 ranked PvP rewards. Season 4 will end on April 28, 2015. The culmination of Season 4 is fast approaching so batten down the hatches! The end of Season 4 will come with Game Update 3.2 and your rating, when the servers come down for the update, will determine which tier you are in and what rewards you receive. The higher your tier the more booty you will plunder! Just like in previous seasons, the Highest Earned rating that determines the tier you are in – not Current – so no need to feel like you are risking Rating by going after the next tier up! What’s Happening to the Women of BioWare Austin?
In the past month, we have seen an exodus of SWTOR staff from Bioware Austin, much like one we saw a couple years back. Of these were Courtney Woods from the community team and Hillary “Pokket” Nicole, the Community Coordinator. While specifics were not released, we are given the impression their contracts just ended and Bioware was not interested in renewing them. As a female gamer and someone who has worked within the industry for a number of years, it’s great to see other females taking a leadership role so I am sad to see them go. That said, it has many asking the question “Are there any females left out there at Bioware Austin?” and of course, there are. Here’s a gamer who has combined two of my favorite things: Star Wars/SWTOR and Minecraft. Here you will see that Jedimonkey38 built the Dromund Kaas Citadel in Minecraft. Torhead is Closing due to Lack of Traffic
Amy Lanam, Content Manager of ZAM Network, just announced that TorHead will be closing down due to lack of traffic. This will be hard on fan sites, as most scroll over links you see actually came from torhead. It’s a shame that SWTOR don’t have a an open data system as in WOW, then this will not have happend. It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce we will be closing down Torhead. A recent analysis of our sites has shown that Torhead’s traffic doesn’t justify the work it needs to keep it a quality site. The closure is slated to happen sometime after March 19, 2015. Star Wars introduces its first LGBT character to canon
Star Wars is introducing a new character, Moff Mors, and she is a lesbian. In Paul S. Kemp’s upcoming Star Wars: Lords of the Sith novel, Moff Mors is the first LGBT character that will officially be introduced in Star Wars when the book is released in April. The editor at Star Wars book publisher, Shelly Shapiro, has confirmed the news of the character and her sexuality during an interview on Big Shiny Robot’s “Full of Sith,” podcast. She is being described as a fully capable Imperial leader and spends most of her time trying to prevent failure. Shapiro has stated that Mors will be the first official LGBT character in Star Wars but there have been gay characters in other median set in space. One example is in Karen Traviss’ Legacy of the Force books; Mandalorians, Goran Beviin and Medrit Vasur were married in one of the novels. Star…
Does ‘Battlefield Hardline’ Resolution Bode Ill For ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’?
After a showing of the new Star Wars: Battlefront game was held behind closed doors during the Game Developers Conference, fans are anxiously waiting to see a sneak peak too. However, some are worried that the release of Battlefield: Hardline will put a damper on enthusiasm. Battlefield: Hardline will is using the same engine and is running at sub-1080p resolution on the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4. Could this possibly spoil Star Wars: Battlefront’s design and graphics? The beta for Battlefield: Hardline was supposedly running at 900p on the PlayStation 4 and 720p on the Xbox One. At Least 20 New Star Wars Books in the Works
Entertainment Weekly just shared some big news: Disney will be publishing at least 20 new books that will fill the 32-year gap between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. The books will come in many formats: novels, storybooks, and sticker books have been mentioned (we can only hope for graphic novels). The series will be called Journey to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The books will detail the adventures of Han, Luke, Leia, and Chewie leading up to the forthcoming film, and will contain a number of elements that foreshadow events to come. A number of different publishers will be involved, including Disney itself, DK, Marvel, and Del Rey. We don’t know what will be contained in these books, or who the authors are, but they’re sure to bring some surprises, especially with how closely the plot of The Force Awakens has been guarded.
