Star Wars: Battlefront Available First on Xbox One through EA Access

If you’re anxious for Star Wars: Battlefront, you might like this little tidbit that came out today via Phil Spencer’s Twitter feed. Battlefront will be available first on XBox One through EA Access: @MJC3809 @majornelson @EAAccess @XboxQwik @DMC_Ryan Yes you can play SW: Battlefront first on Xbox One, exclusively with @EAAccess — Phil Spencer (@XboxP3) July 20, 2015 Awesome for those who already have an XBox One or EA Access. With Access, you will get early access to the game, about 5 days before the game actually releases for everyone (usually). Also, if you have an XBox One already and don’t have Access, it’s really affordable, making it a steal to get early access to the game.  You could sign up just for this and if you don’t want to keep it after that, then of course you can cancel. If you already have it, win-win all around, right?

‘Star Wars’ helped this Aussie dad overcome a brain tumour for his kids

A man named Adam Harris who lives in Australia is most likely one of Star Wars biggest fans. He named his son Jack Anakin Harris, after all. One week before his second child entered the world, he suffered bad headaches and then found out that he had an inoperable brain tumor. While lying in the hospital bed he began having regrets for never having travelled to the US where Star Wars was born. During this time of hardship, he had a brilliant idea. He decided to create a documentary about taking his son to America to live out the Star Wars dreams. They used crowdfunding to pay for the project and Harris and his son attended the Star Wars celebration in Anaheim. Click here to watch this inspiring video made by The Feed:

Rendered Luke vs Real Luke

Can a rendered Luke Skywalker look like the real thing? With the right team and equipment, it might even look more real than the actual Luke. Here are some screenshots to prove it. The rendered Luke is taken from Star Wars: Battlefront.  CG is more difficult than one might think and it usually requires an entire team of CG animators/artists to create what might seem like a simple project such as this. Often times you might have a person working on hair or facial effects while another is working on simulation effects to get the right completed look. There are researchers who will go through photographs and other tools of the person they are animating/rendering. Again, it’s not easy. But the results can be pretty fantastic. We can’t help but wonder what the actor thinks of this. It would be like seeing a younger you come to life. How cool…

Star Wars Battlefront: Star Cards Customization

Star Wars: Battlefront allows you to pick three Star Cards before each game. This video will show you how they work. Here’s a video from Westie: As you can see from the video, each card has its own unique ability or attack. They have personal shields, jetpacks and more. Players will get to use each card during the battle but it will have limited use or a recharge mechanic. The video shows it all in more detail but the system is somewhat like that in Titanfall’s burn cards. There are other games that have done similar concepts as well. All in all, it looks like a neat little addition to an FPS. What are your thoughts?

Soon, we should be learning a little bit more about Star Wars: Rogue One during Comic Con, but before there is a new story on Star Wars: Rogue One, we have found out that Darth Vader will be appearing in Gareth Edwards’ Star Wars Anthology film. We have found out that Darth Vader will be making an appearance in Star Wars Anthology: Rogue One, however he will not be the film’s main enemy. The dark lord will be appearing behind the scenes mainly and will appear onscreen as well. One thing we don’t know is if his character will be appearing in person or during the story at some point. No one is sure who will be the main villain in Star Wars: Rogue One. One contender for the role are Grand Moff Tarkin, who is the commander of the Death Star in Star Wars: A New Hope. Jar Jar was Playable Hero in Cancelled BFIII: Free Radical Game Footage

This video shows leaked alpha gameplay of Star Wars: Battlefront III, which was to have been the third video game in the Star Wars: Battlefront series. Although LucasArts never announced the game, Free Radical Design developed the game from 2006 until 2008. The video gives you an example of how vast the battles would have been: all the Republic’s Cruisers you see on the video are piloted by full crews of real players. So one thing we learned from this footage is that Jar Jar would have been a playable hero. Would you play him? Would you play him just to run him into an untimely death? With all the hate on Jar Jar, it makes you wonder why they put him in the game. So I did some digging and it looks like this wasn’t necessarily THE JarJar. They just put the Gungan race in the Hunt mode. Personally,…

Star Wars Battlefront Devs Promise “Very Different” Single-Player Campaign

There is one major question that fans have been repeatedly asking and its why aren’t there any space battles in the new Battlefront game. Bach responded by saying: “There’s a lot of stuff we didn’t have time for, but we’ve picked the coolest moments, the ones that made most sense for multiple people playing together.” He also stated: “One design philosophy we always have is that we want different people to play together – we want flying vehicles with ground-based troops, we want to mix and match different types of gameplay on the same…

BioWare goes back to its roots for: Knights of the Fallen Empire What goes into crafting the new expansion for Star Wars: The Old Republic – Knights of the Fallen Empire? Creative director Jesse Sky takes things back to the beginning. Back to basics Last year, I decided to re-watch The Empire Strikes Back® and write down everything that shocked the audience back in its original theatrical run. It’s a very long list. That film packs a real emotional punch—it’s full of twists, betrayals and revelations the entire way through. I’ve wanted to tell a Star Wars™ story like that ever since the first time I saw it. When we began conceptualizing Knights of the Fallen Empire, the story…
