Sage Top 3 Answers

Eric Musco justed posted the answers to the top 3 Sage questions which were submitted earlier in the official forum. Questions 1 & 3 were a waste. More lightsaber attacks, really? The answer to #1 was interesting to me at least, confirming that developers share my belief that dps should just, well.. dps and not try to actively off heal even yourself. Leave healing to your healers. For #2, glad that they will be fixing pvp sage/sorc healing. It’s interesting that they are considering going back to how noble sacrifice/consumption worked in the early 1.x days when it didn’t cost any health to use. Read it all below: PvE – Survivability Are the developers satisfied with Sage/Sorcerer survivability, specifically in PvE operations? What is your philosophy towards the Sage class and its defenses? Are there any plans to improve the class’s current survival tools? For example, by perhaps providing a…

50 EA Titles to be Taken Offline Next Month Including Star Wars: Battlefront

Big news from EA this week about online service updates coming as soon as June 30th. EA will be pulling more than 50 titles with online multiplayer components and it could affect some games you still play. This can be frustrating news to those of us who still play some of these titles. There are several games that I still play with friends or family and several that are really only fun in multiplayer format so it’s a real let-down that they are pulling them offline. I can respect and understand that an online game will have a lifespan and that it is not reasonable to expect them to be supported forever but it’s still sad to hear this news. Check out the list of 50 titles yourself and see if any of your favorite games are on there. Take note of the following Star Wars games on the list:…

Minecraft Huttball! Check it Out

Do you love Mincraft? Are you a fan of Huttbal? Now you can have the best of both worlds- sort of! Here we have Huttball maps in Minecraft, thanks to Joevahskank. This is actually really cool and I know the creator spent a lot of time on it and trying to get it right. He had this to say: “I did more work after I posted my last album earlier, so here’s the replacement. The first picture is of the foundation. The second is behind the stands… hoping to get some concession stands out there. The third through last? Well, you can see the arena’s nearly finished!”  It’s coming along nicely and I, for one, enjoy Minecraft and will have to check this out. Check out some more images of Huttball in Minecraft:

It hasn’t been revealed who the main subject of the Edwards film will be The plan is to release a new “Star Wars” movie every year starting in 2015, alternating between trilogy installments and spinoffs. Live Streaming from the International space station

Here is a great window to Space! If this project remains open, it will allow the world witness our reality from another perpective. A beautiful one. And from time to time some wild phenomena out there, like the North Lights and meteors in Summer. I wonder if that is possible from that height. But I guess that going around the equator that must be beyond our reach…Still magnificent.! I wish they installed surround angle moving cameras and a few more.  I hope this experiment succeeds and grows wider in budget and resources. The Ustream video from the station is available only when the complex is in contact with the ground through its high-speed communications antenna and NASA’s Tracking and Data Relay Satellite System. During “loss of signal” periods, you will see a blue screen. Since the station orbits the Earth once every 90 minutes, it sees a sunrise or a…

New SWTOR Event and New Alien Species on PTS

Will we soon be seeing a new alien species in SWTOR? Data-mined info says it’s possible, although little more is known at this time. Here are some images of a potential new race (playable?) that we might see coming with a future content update that is also supposed to bring a new SWTOR event. swtor_miner explains some of what the data shows about the model, “”These new aliens fall into the Bothan semi-custom model category, and not the full-custom model Wookiee one. This means they share animations with regular humanoid species.” I agree that I don’t think this will be a playable race based on what the datamining found. Probably they will be NPC models but perhaps this shows us what the new event or some of the new content will be about. Of course, this early in the process, the whole thing could be scrapped. We can never depend…

SWTOR Vancouver Community Cantina Recap

We love to share info with you about Community Cantinas. First, they are fun and secondly, they are informative McSluethGaming.com has a great of info (with pictures) about the Vancouver Community Cantina. Let’s take a look at some of it now: I arrived about 45 minutes before the event and was the first one there, I was then greeted by Eric Musco who was setting up the front booth, from my limited knowledge of other cantina events I was shocked to find nobody else there, as was Eric who said this was the first time ever that this had happened. Normally there is a crowd almost 2 hours before! At that point I was honestly rather worried that not many people would show up at all… It did however give me a great chance to just chat with Eric for almost a solid hour which was nice. Around 20 mins to 8 a…

Game Update 2.8: Spoils Of War PTS Update 2 Soovada (“Spoils of War” in Huttese) is an annual celebration of total extravagance in Hutt culture, originally celebrated in the summer season of Varl after successful military campaigns. Rival clans compete to prove their superior wealth, attempting to sponsor the most parties, pit fights, bounties, gambling, and every other public display of fortune and excess imaginable. Popularized among outside cultures during visits to Nar Shaddaa, this exuberant holiday is now celebrated on hundreds of worlds across the galaxy, where it’s simply known by its Huttese name; any connection to ancient wartime looting is largely ignored. SWTOR: XS Freighter LDD (with detailed Interior)

As part of the LEGO MOC Showcase at fbtb.net, a user shared some great images of their build of a Star Wars: The Old Republic – XS Freighter: “Hello! I recently finished my SWTOR XS Freighter in LDD and wanted to share it. While I’ve seen cleaner builds (exterior-wise) I feel a sense of accomplishment with this for including a pretty accurate, detailed interior to the ship.” See the full post and images here. There is a lot of great detail, no small parts gone unnoticed and there are even size/scale comparisons. The creator, November2019, says they have been working on the project off and on for a few months. “There were some frustrating hurdles. It was my first time doing something of this complexity in LDD. Figuring out ‘non-standard’, oblique-angle building techniques was really a mind-bender for me. Very fun though.” We think it looks pretty awesome. I can see…

Assassin / Shadow Top 3 Answers

Here are the top 3 Assassin / Shadow Answers: Madness in PvP The Madness Assassin has been grossly revamped from its original state pre-xpac, which in turn has caused many players to become repulsed by its current playstyle. Due to the changes, Madness also suffered a dramatic hit in PvP, losing access to its Insta-Whirlwind utility and the loss of Maul procs which also goes to hurt its burst potential. In addition, the spec suffers from being far too easy to kill (having no true stealth benefits) with no real execution power to actually down targets beyond fluff damage, therefore making it seemingly a useless fighter on the field in comparison to what other classes / specs can do. With no team utility, lack of kill power and absurdly low survivability, what exactly is the purpose of a Madness Assassin on the battlefield? Are there any plans to alter or…

‘Star Wars: Legends’ Gets a Trailer

““Star Wars: Episode VII” comes out December 18, 2015 and the Star Wars Expanded Universe is shifting into the “Legends” timeline. This means many of the stories we have all known and treasured about Star Wars are not likely to make it into the newest films. This is a new era of Star Wars and some are happier about it than others. However, Big Shiny Robot has something pretty cool for us. It’s the Star Wars Legends trailer from Marc Rienzo. Big Shiny Robot says: And to be honest, this is probably one of the coolest fan cut trailers of EU material I’ve ever seen. It was cobbled together over the last couple of years from many, many different sources. I loved seeing bits of “Wing Commander” and other movies like that in here. Basically, this trailer is what this universe might have looked like on the big screen. It’s…

PvP vs PvE Mounts Philosophy

Eric Musco was really engaged in the community yesterday. Besides the Faction change post we wrote about earlier, he also updated the community about the PvP vs PvE Mounts Philosophy: Hey everyone, I know there has been a bit of frustration from our PvP community regarding a Rancor mount going into the Cartel Market. Although I had mentioned at the time that there would be Rancor mounts coming to both the CM and Operations, I thought it would be good to explain our philosophy on mounts. Especially around their exclusivity. For PvP mounts, such as Season rewards, what you are going to tend to find is that they are exclusive variations of a mount and not necessarily a completely exclusive model (not to say we would never do an exclusive model, that is always possible). For example, you will not find a Rancor that looks anything like Giradda’s Rancor, but…

Confirmed: Faction Change “very, very unlikely” to be Added

There have been a discussion regarding faction change on the official forums, and yesterday Eric Musco had an answer on this matter. Faction changes is “very, very unlikely” to be Added. Personally I I never thought the ability to change factions was something that was in the realm of realistic possibility. I can understand people wanting to change faction but as Eric pretty much states it’s likely never going to happen as the story options tied to each toon makes it impossible. Hey folks, This is a good question! We have been asked this a few times at some of our Cantina Tours as well but I wanted to make sure we had the answer here in the forums for folks to be able to find it. I am remiss to ever say the word never, but I can say that it is very, very unlikely that we would ever…

Wookieepedia Issues Official Canon Policy

Wookieepedia has posted their new canon policy for us to see. Most of this is not very surprising at all but it is very important to Star Wars fans and to anyone who uses the site as a resource. From the official policy page: Wookieepedia strives to be the Internet’s foremost comprehensive resource for Star Wars canon information. To this end, Wookieepedia adheres to the canon doctrines set forth by Lucasfilm Ltd. and its subsidiaries. On April 25, 2014, Lucasfilm announced that all Expanded Universe material is now reorganized under the non-canon “Legends” banner to make way for the “new canon” to take place. The new canonbegan on screen with the Star Wars Rebels animated television series and in print with the novel A New Dawn. Under the direction of theLucasfilm Story Group, all elements of Star Wars canon now operate in a unified and collaborative storytelling setting. They go on to explain “new canon” which is the Lucasfilm Story Group connected universe as of April 25, 2014. They explain…
