I just wanted to hop in here really fast to make a comment on the Plasma Probe damage adjustment from testing versus the patch note. The short answer is: I screwed up the patch note and the 22% was from a previous iteration of changes that we were testing and decided we didn’t like. The values you guys are seeing on PTS is what our current target is, so let’s move forward with the discussion based on that number being the “real” number and talk about any further…

TOR TV: Scoundrel PvP Montage

This is Kalamitis third installment of Scoundrel PvP Montage. Scoundrel PvP is extremely fun and I’m surprised that people are overlooking and don’t pick it up. I asked him why he use back blast way too early after shoot first, and he answered: Good catch! When I’m playing PvE, I use exactly that rotation. While I’m 1v1 during warzones, most of the other classes outsustain me, either because of tankiness (for example a Juggernaut) or because of them having a lot of CC and healing (Sorcerer). That means, I have to burst them down during my stun lock and before they have the chance to fight me back. When I reopen the fight after I have used dissapearing act, I want to finish my opponent, I use Shoot First followed by Back Blast, for a quick 6-9k damage. Also, on PvP it’s not easy to get behind them (they don’t…

SWTOR Cosplay Comicbook

It’s time for another feature of SWTOR Cosplay swagger! This one is a special treat that has been out there for a while but most of us never even knew about it. It’s short, so take your time appreciating all the work that went into it, from costume design, backdrop, photography, post-production effects, etc, etc. In my opinion this is total genius and something to learn from for all Cosplayers. With that being said … We present you Issue One of Star Wars: The Old Republic – Arandani Comic: First Encounter, by Arandani Studios. But before all that, we flashback to Captain Kadd Aradan doing a drop on Ord Mantell moments right before the ambush. That’s all for now. A very enticing introduction, with blasters, double bladed lightsabers , Cathers, Sith Inquisitors and Scoundrels. What more can you ask for? More issues? Hell yeah! I really hope they make more,…

SWTOR Scapper Smuggler PvP Guide- Understanding Stealth

If you’ve played a stealth character in other MMOs, expect things to be a little different in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The main difference is in the way you engage your target and in the stealth detection. At first, it may seem a little awkward and harder but once you understand the concept, you’ll probably enjoy the gameplay even more, especially if you like a real challenge. Engaging Your Target The way you engage your target is much different from what you’re probably used to. When you engage a single target and they die, you can restealth immediately as long as you have not attacked another target and no one else has attacked you. In this scenario, you’re considered “out of combat” when you send out the deadly blow. However, if you engage someone else or if anyone else engages you before the cool down period is up, you’re…

1.2 Smuggler Gear Makes you Say “What?!”

Most classes are excited and anxious to see the new gear that will come with game update 1.2. For those of us playing Smuggler, your excitement levels may change when you see the pictures of what we get to wear. Many players have already set out to the official forums to complain about the gear. LongGui says, “I agree, Way to much art and not enough design. Practical wins over artisitic/showy any day. I cant get over that helmet.” Jarwan says: “I’m praying that the gear I saw in that trailer around 1:41 mins mark is not a Smuggler but the fact that they were doing the resting animation has destroyed all hope. The hat looks like one of those you see people wearing in ball games which holds a bear can on each side of the hat. That gear is wrong, who ever designed that gear from Bioware should…

Youtube user Zadenk made this little gem of machinima. Vidoes like this mame me realize that most Jedi dialog is pretty boring, compared with the stuff you get away with as a non-Force user. Yesterday Bioware released the fourth and final installment in the “Choose Your Side” series, pitting the Sith Warrior vs the Smuggler class. In the video, the developers give you details on the type of playstyle and story you can expect from each class and then pit them against each other in a one-on-one battle to the death. From the moment we announced the eight classes in Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ fans have been pitting them against each other, arguing who would have the advantage in a one-on-one fight. The hallways of BioWare echo this debate, with the writers, combat designers and other developers all chiming in on which classes they feel will have the upper hand. In the fourth and final installment of “Choose Your Side,” writers and developers discuss the ins and outs of the Smuggler and Sith Warrior classes, highlighting some of the skills and abilities that…

Intergalactic Intel: Smuggler and Sith Inquisitor

I tapped my foot impatiently. “Hurry up!” “I’m coming!” My friend, Varric, exited his apartment with his massive tower in hand. “Why are you so eager to start?” “There was a 2 hour wait to get on yesterday. I don’t want waste any time. Besides everyone else is already set up.” He opened his mouth puzzlement. “How many people are over there?”“Mmm about 6 of us…” This was gonna probably be the best beta weekend yet. Welcome to another installment of Intergalactic Intel! I apologize for the late article post, with the Thanksgiving weekend, and beta weekend I have been quiet busy. Even now as I type this my friends are telling me to stop and throw the ball in hutt ball. A few reminders, the NDA has been lifted so I’ll be trying to blab as much as I can about the Sith Inquisitor and Smuggler classes today. In…
