Turn Down for Hutt!

This amazing video was posted recently by overthinkingit.com over at youtube and…it’s beyond words. The clip uses well-timed clips from the original Star Wars trilogy and matches them with a very distinctive tune. If you have a minute and a half to spare then it’s definitely worth the time.

Revan 3.0 & the Infinite Empire

After the release of the teaser for 3.0 last week, there have been a lot of questions and speculations about the game, Revan and where the story is going. For those who really get into the lore, this can be one of the best parts of the game and new expansions – new storyline and where will it take us? One fan, Darth Wicked, asks these questions “Where is Revan? Is that a temple of some sorts? And if it is, who built it? And where? Come to think of it, is that even Revan to begin with? And what about that… thing behind him? Is it a Sith artifact or something else? Something more?” and then he actually goes on to answer in detail with some ideas of his own. Darth Wicked also has the screenshots of the entire thread on imgur for anyone looking to see them in…

Results for Conquest Week 4 – The Dread War

I run swtorconquest.com and I have been asked to be a guest writer summarizing the conquests each week. Full reddit post here Week 4 of Strongholds are officially over. I wanted to point out a few interesting bits. The Harbinger once again shows that have some seriously dedicated guilds. Their lowest score by the wampa stampers beating the highest scores on most other servers. Once again on Jedi Covenant; Rancor Bait , Working as Intended , Hellbent , and Holocron get early leads on each of their planets and never drop below first place. Early on in the week they had first place secure. On Jung Ma the battle for Section X and Oricon were close. Until Sunday Umbra  seemed to have first place secure. But late on Sunday the remnants of hope finally managed to get past them and get first place. On Oricon, Uncharted Space and nightmare squadron kept going back and forth for first place. Few…

SWToR Community delivers once more; Sniper’s PVE guide!

It’s always great to see certain members of the SWToR community coming forward and sharing their knowledge of the game. The latest example is, SWToR forum member “DieGhostDie” who posted a very interesting PVE Marksmanship guide for the Imperial Sniper. He is currently part of the 8-man progression group in the Intrepid guild of the Harbinger server and he decided to share his experience and expertise with the rest of the community. Even though he admits the guide is work in progress, his work starts with the basics, and expands to key abilities and rotations among other things.

Being evil in Knights of The Old Republic

For a game that has been out for 11 years the Knights of the Old Republic (KoTOR) is still getting a lot of attention. Maybe it was the release of Star Wars the Old Republic that reminded us of how amazing the original game was. Maybe it was last years’ release of KoTOR for iOS that reminded us that a great game remains great regardless of the platform. Or maybe it’s just the realization that the original game remains a benchmark for all RPG games.

Cancelled Star Wars Battlefront III Models

We’re excited about the upcomming Star Wars: Battlefront  (at least I know I am) and this is why I love bringing you updates, news, rumors and pretty much anything else related to help pass the time until we actually get to report on the game itself. As you know, there were plans for the game that are now cancelled as DICE takes over production. I feel confident in DICE’s ability to bring us a fantastic game and I don’t think they are rushing the title or going for a money grab (easy to do, knowing how badly we all want it). But if you’re curious, you can take a look at the cancelled models that showcase what it would have looked like. Check out the gallery for yourself:

Former Electronic Arts (EA) CEO predicts free-to-play model evolution

Former Electronic Arts (EA) CEO, John Riccitiello is a controversial figure among gamers, especially with SWToR fans. During his tenure at EA, he spearheaded the strategy to develop and promote free-to-play games, an approach that Star Wars The Old Republic (SWToR) fully embraced. During a recent interview with Gamespot. Mr. Riccitiello predicted that both premium and free-to-play pricing models will continue to exist with the later possibly evolving. He also stressed out that both models (and possibly others we haven’t seen), will continue to co-exist without one gaining the upper hand over others.

Will Star Wars: Battlefront Release Line up with Star Wars: Episode VII Release?

Fans are talking about the release of Star Wars: Battlefront. That’s nothing new. We’re all excited about the game and anxious for updates about when we’ll get to check it out for ourselves (finally). Reports say that development may be delayed on this game as DICE has stopped working on upcoming releases. We don’t mind waiting for it, honestly, as long as we get the game and not another disappointment or cancelled title. The internet was abuzz today with rumors about the release and the possibility that it will line up with the release of Star Wars: Episode VII. Will it be awhile before we get the chance to play this highly anticipated game? Most signs point to yes. However,  Viktor Lundberg (Developer and soundtrack musician) recently posted a Twitter message mentioning that he was looking forward to “playtesting” the game-playable alpha and beta versions of the game are available internally,…

SWTOR Players- What Keeps You Coming Back?

SWTOR has been out for awhile now and like many games today, it has had its changes since the early days. Not only has the payment model changed from subs to free-to-play, there have been many content updates and expansions and even graphical changes to keep the game fresh and new. But, as with any game that has been out awhile, some people get tired of it. It is not usual at all to find fans who quit for periods of time (months, even) and then return. So this brings up the question: what keeps you coming back? As most of us who have been gaming for a long time know, even an excellent game can get tiring or boring. Even if we love it and we play it every day, we are not immune to burn out. Some players realize that it helps to plan ahead for game fatigue…

TOR TV: Galactic Starfighter Basics

I will be the first one to admit that even though I find Galactic Star Fighter (GSF) as one of the more interesting SWToR expansions, I never really got into it. The expansion always felt that it required a significant amount of time spent on it before one can do something useful in the battles. While there is nothing wrong with this concept, it does make it difficult for people with limited time to master it.
