The pictures on the spacecraft Voyager. If it is discovered by someone else in the universe, this is what they will know of humanity

This has nothing to do with Star Wars, Yet… It has it has everything to do with Star Wars. These are the pictures that were put on the voyager spacecraft. If the human race manages to kill itself, this is the only thing other life in the universe will be know about us. This would be the imprint we leave on the entire universe. Statement: This voyager spacecraft was constructed by the United States of America. We are a community of 240 million human beings among the more than 4 billion who inhabit the planet earth. We human beings are still divided into nation states, but these states are rapidly becoming a single global civilization. We are attempting to survive our time so we may live into yours. We hope someday, having solved the problems we face, to join a community of galactic civilizations. This record represents our hope and our…

Star Wars Episode VII Rumor Roundup

It’s been awhile since we gave you a good Star Wars Episode VII Rumor Roundup and we have a couple of good ones for you this week. Rumor: Construction Of The Millennium Falcon Is Underway For Episode VII – Star Wars Underworld brings us this interesting rumor of Star Wars VII. We know that production for this film is under way but a lot of info about it is still being kept secret, as is expected from a franchise as popular as Star Wars. But a recent rumor says it might be farther along in the process than we think: In an article primarily about J.J Abrams’ presumed Star Wars upgrades to the Bad Robot facilities in California, the Latino Review’s Kellvin Chavez mentions that everyone’s favorite ‘hunk of junk’, the Millennium Falcon, is currently being constructed at Pinewood studios in London. Here’s what Chavez had to say: “…I’ve been told that the…

Star Wars: Battlefront is likely to come out in 2015

Star Wars: Battlefront 3 release date news has been hard to come by lately. This is off course mainly because the game is still in heavy development. According to Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen, speaking at EA’s investors meeting the other day, the targeted release date for Star Wars: Battlefront is “most likely” in summer 2015 for the most obvious reason that it’s when Star Wars: Episode VII will be hitting theaters and relaunching the film franchise. Star Wars: Battlefront is DICE LA‘s very first big project, following some light work on polishing up Battlefield 4. It’s also the first step in a multi-year deal recently sealed between EA and Disney, giving the publisher exclusive rights to develop games for the Star Wars franchise. DICE’s ‘Star Wars: Battlefront’ marks the first entry in the series since 2009′s ‘Star Wars Battlefront: Elite Squadron’, and the first console release in…

EA Wants to Create Jaw Dropping Star Wars Games

According to recent stories, EA wants to refresh the Star Wars game license and create games that will make “your jaw drop”. For Star Wars game fans, this is good news but will they really pull off this hefty goal? One can only hope, right? “The most important thing for me is that we take the Star Wars license and come up with games where peoples’ jaws drop,” said Patrick Soderlund of EA games to Polygon. “We need to do with this what [Batman: Arkham Asylum] did for the Batman license.” The first game they are set to work with is Star Wars: Battlefront, a game that many fans have been waiting a very long time to see happen.  Soderlund says the DICE team will have access to this work. While they could not tell Polygon much about the game, it’s still great news to know it is in development and…

Star Wars Pinball Game Review

I love pinball and I love Star Wars. I also love video games. Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s take a look at Star Wars Pinball and let me tell you what I think of it. Star Wars Pinball from Zen Studios is a pretty good game for a non-arcade pinball on the Wii. It has a realistic feel to it and you start off with three tables, and have the ability to get more in the future. The initial tables are based on “Episode 5: A New Hope,” “The Clone Wars Series” and Boba Fett so there’s something good there for fans and this adds to the fun. The game also steps it up with the music and I was impressed to hear classic music from the movies. There’s something here for both Star Wars fans and pinball lovers. Some of the controls are hard…

Frank Gibeau Interview with Venture Beat

Frank Gibeau talks with Venture Beat on EA’s digital ecosystems, Star Wars games, and Titanfall (interview part two) with information about EA’s future, games in the works and more. As you may already know, Electronic Arts has some very large properties in the video game world. FIFA Soccer, Titanfall, Star Wars Battlefront and more are examples of some of the big titles we have coming from EA this fall. Venture Beat talked to Gibeau about this and more in part 2 of this great interview. See a snippet here: GamesBeat: It seems like you guys, as EA, can believe in a digital ecosystem around games. If you’re Disney, you can believe in transmedia. You can do toys and films and whatever. You guys have the Need for Speed film. When do you step outside that? Gibeau: We have an embarrassment of riches in terms of intellectual properties at EA. Then, you couple…

Al Pacino In ‘Star Wars’ As Han Solo? It Almost Happened

Al Pacino In ‘Star Wars’ As Han Solo? Well, that sure would have made for an interesting movie, no? Before you get all excited, it’s not happening but Al Pacino says it almost did. According to Al, Al Pacino almost played Han Solo in “Star Wars.” “”It was mine for the taking but I didn’t understand the script,” Pacino said in London over the weekend during an event called “An Evening With Al Pacino.” Harrison Ford apparently did understand the script; he, of course, played Solo in three “Star Wars” films and is expected to reprise his role in the 2015 sequel directed by J.J. Abrams. And apparently he’s not the only one who was offered the role but has turned it down before Harrison Ford was picked up. And there were other women in line to play Princess Leia back then too. Sissy Spacek, Jodie Foster, Cindy Williams and Amy Irving…

In true LA style, the studio will also have a “fitness center, cafeteria, sports field, sand volleyball court, basketball court and more.” A tweet from the Battlefield account has revealed some of the jobs on offer in the new LA-based studio, offering some insight into what DICE LA will be working on. IGN ran a story with the following info: According to The Wall Street Journal, it’s still being decided whether the studio will focus on brand new franchises to do with the IP or continue existing series. SWTOR 2.0.1 Data Dump

New updates on potential future SWTOR content from this SWTOR 2.0.1 data dump by Werit. As with any data dump, it’s important to remember that the data mined may not end up in the final version of the patch or update.  It’s like playing on the test realms or in a game beta; you know that much of what you see does not make it into the final version of the game, or at least not in the same format. So take these data dumps with a grain of salt but they are fun and often, a lot of what is found actually comes out in the future patch. Another SWTOR patch, another data dump!  I’ve expanded my data mining tools a bit, so I am grabbing even more changes than before.  There are a couple of interesting entries in this patch.  It looks like there are two new achievements…
