EA’s ‘Battlefront’ Burden: We Can’t Violate the ‘Star Wars’ Canon
As far as Star Wars Battlefront is concerned, all must remain in the past. EA is bound by the canon and they can’t violate this, placing obvious restrictions on what they can do with story and game design elements. This means, despite the popular of the new heroes from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, there will be no plans to add Rey or Finn to future Battlefront expansion packs. It’s not that EA is against the new heroes. In fact, there’s a pretty obvious and logical reason for it. “Battlefront” is based on the science-fiction franchise’s original trilogy released between 1977 and 1983. “The Force Awakens” is set about 30 years after “Return of the Jedi.” It may sound obvious to some fans but then again, in a video game reality, we often like to think that we can change things as we choose and have fun with it. That’s true……
Star Wars: The Old Republic at “Highest Subscriber Level in Three Years”
In the Electronic Arts Reports Q3 FY16 Financial Results, it is mentioned that STAR WARS: The Old Republic grew to its highest subscriber level in nearly three years in Q3 last year. It was also mentioned that Star Wars battlefront was performing strong. REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) today announced preliminary financial results for its third fiscal quarter ended December 31, 2015. “This holiday season we connected millions of players through amazing games across multiple platforms,” said Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson. From the stunning visuals and gameplay of STAR WARS Battlefront, to the anytime, anywhere competition in Madden NFL Mobile, players are deeply engaged across the increasing depth and breadth of the EA portfolio. “It was a great quarter with non-GAAP revenue and earnings that exceeded our guidance,” said Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen. Our results were driven by strong performances from STAR WARS Battlefront,…
Top 10 Classic Star Wars Battlefront Maps
If you play Star Wars Battlefront, you probably have a favorite map. Most everyone has a favorite map (or two) that they love more than any others. In fact, this seems to be the case in any game of this type. I know I have a shortlist of my favorite TF2 maps and also a shortlist of the ones I hate and try to avoid ever playing on. So WatchMojo took a look at some classic Star Wars Battlfront maps and also asked their viewers to vote on their favorites. They used this poll to create a ranked list and then made this video about the results. So where did your favorite maps stack up? The top five included Hoth, Kashyyk and Naboo City. Also rounding out the top 10 was Kamino and Bespin. Other maps that were voted on: Yavin 4, Felucia, Korriban, Utapau, Vjun, and more. Check out…

Star Wars Battlefront III Build 70217 360 Release
Many Bothans died to bring us this information. But seriously, someone got their hands on the cancelled Star Wars Battlefront III build and released it. We don’t know how to he did it. We’re not even going to ask. But it’s definitely interesting. The poster claims he’s not even a Star Wars fan but he just likes prototype games like this. A couple of days ago, 4chan user ProtoFaggot posted a development build of the game to /v/, 4chan’s video game board. He’s also posted this on /r/StarWarsBattlefront. We’re including the post in full to you below. Here’s the post in full with current edits: “EDIT 7 (making a lot of these) MD5 Checksum 4D00C73122B99F26FBAA4C1FCB9DFCD4 SHA1 Checksum AF5EED4CDD2E57AC14AD71FD66CBA42368658956 If you wish to talk to me, please go to here: https://twitter.com/ProtoFaggot I say this because I’m not the most used to reddit. Episode VII Stormtrooper in EA Battlefront Files?
Here’s a rumor (or possible hoax) for you regarding Star Wars Battlefront. Someone claims to have found game files that indicate there might be First Order Stormtroopers in the game. He created a video for it showing these models/files. AngryEchidna says, “In the workshop for SFM i noticed a file that had models from Starwars Battlefront (The third main one) and among the files uploaded is a highly detailed New Order Stormtrooper. I put some of the other models from Battlefront in the video so you can compare the level of detail for yourself.” See the video here: So what do you think? People are skeptical, and rightly so. So far, no one else has been able to replicate it so it’s really looking like it might just be a hoax. When you add in the fact that the video came out just after the game was launched, there’s a very…

While we are now in the new year, Star Wars: Battlefront gamers and those who are purchasing it are keeping their eyes peeled for game updates and also the Star Wars: Battlefront DLC. EA is continuing to tell gamers that the DLC information will be coming in the near future, but they will not tell us exactly when. While the DLC information is being kept on the down low for now, EA has confirmed that a brand new update for Star Wars: Battlefront will be arriving and have fans and gamers hugely excited. There are not many details as of now but this roundup is going to help fill you in on everything you should…
Star Wars: Battlefront Has Basically the Same Staff of Developers
A lot of fans have questions about the development team behind Star Wars: Battlefront. A common complaint is that they just don’t seem to be communicating well with the fans/players in regard to the game, status of changes, and other important details. When it comes to communities like this, communication is very important, as we learned with SWTOR. When they had community managers in place to help facilitate questions and concerns, as well as announcements between the developers and the players. It’s an important job. Star Wars: Battlefront seems to be lacking in the official community manager department and it’s affecting how some players see the game, as well as their opinion of the professionalism of DICE and EA. Some think it gives the impression the developers don’t care and it’s left others wondering if DICE was even still on the project. This tweet from DICE’s Dennis Brannvall confirms: @LukeMoonkiller…

Aimbotters a Serious Problem in Star Wars: Battlefront
The PC market for Star Wars: Battlefront is seeing a serious problem with cheating. I recall when the same thing was happening on a massive scale with Counter-Strike and later, CS:GO. While cheating and hacking is still a problem, at least Valve has some safeguards in place to try to combat it and most private servers also have their own protocol for spotting, kicking and banning hackers. View post on imgur.com While the poster of this image is saying they need to fix it or send all PC players a refund (something that sounds a bit unreasonable), he does have a point about the aimbotters being a serious problem. In Star Wars Battlefront, there seems to already be a small PC playerbase, making it more difficult to leave a game with a cheater and just find another lobby. Add to it the fact that it seems the cheaters are multiplying…
Star Wars: Battlefront with Toddyhancer
If you’re looking for an awesome mod for Star Wars: Battlefront, we’ve got it right here for you. Be warned, however, this looks like it might take a toll on your resources. We can’t tell if this is a mod or live action role play. Many commenters have echoed our sentiments that it looks like they brought Star Wars to real life. This is the quality that all PC games should be from launch, honestly. How awesome would it be to play your favorite games (especially a shooter) and have it look this realistic? Seriously, check out these screenies and tell us what you think. Some people find it so impressive they are skeptical, calling him a fake and demanding to see video (which he supplied). Others are family with Toddyhancer mods and are just happy to see it on a Star Wars game. Still others say this is why…
Reddit Gives Lonely Gamer Many Star Wars: Battlefront Partners
Ask Reddit and ye shall receive. While not always a good thing, the statement is certainly true of Reddit. It definitely has the ability to create a large number of people centered on a single topic or cause. While Reddit haters will be quick to tell you how bad this is, there have been many, many times the community has stood together to do something great. No matter how big or how small, Redditors are waiting for the opportunity to put their collective minds together to do good. Such is the case of Brody Taylor. The sophomore at Louisiana State University was feeling a bit lonely before finals with no one to play Star Wars: Battlefront with him and so he took out a personals ad in the LSU newspaper. Little did he know, that little ad was about to blow up big time when someone saw it and posted it to Reddit….
Star Wars: Battlefront Fails to Impress Some
Not everyone is smitten with Star Wars: Battlefront. This is not news to us and not news to you. We’ve even written about it here on the site before. But have you spent any time to delve into why some people don’t like the game? Let’s go beyond the “haters” who just want to complain about things, or who oppose anything EA/DICE and look to some real critique of Battlefront. There have been about 100 Star Wars video games released since the first film premiered in 1977. Of those, only a handful can really be considered good. But the thing about most Star Wars and gamer fans is that we love them both so much, we’ll be willing to try anything, at least once. We’ve bought and played some pretty terrible Star Wars games over the years, all in our quest to find the right games we want to play. When we…
Will We See Yoda in a Battlefront DLC?
While it’s true that we feel like they’d do anything to sell Star Wars: Battlefront and the subsequent DLCs, we still find it interesting that we just might see an appearance by Yoda in a future content release. It’s also expected that Kylo Ren will be in the game and we think this is pretty cool as well. It makes sense as we know EA is going to try to play on the popularity of the release of The Force Awakens to try to sell more DLC too. See above What does this mean? Well, it might mean next to nothing. Just because we see Yoda’s voice actor listed on IMDb doesn’t mean it’s accurate (although usually it is) and it doesn’t mean we’re going to see Yoda in the game. Perhaps it’s just a voice-over? He could appear as just a hologram giving you some game advice. It really could be anything…
Star Wars: Battlefront Real Life Mod Dazzles
Star Wars: Battlefront was always going to be extremely keen on visuals. DICE have made it clear from the beginning that they were going to go for authenticity and that they were going to exploit the Frostbite engine to the fullest in their quest for Star Wars eye candy. Granted, on maximum graphics settings, the game has always been a visual delight, but there are individuals out there who have found ways to push it way past what the official version was supposed to accomplish in this respect. Back in November, a mod surfaced, which was used to produce a few impressive screenshots. Called SweetFX Real Life, the mod makes it possible for the game to run in 4k at 60fps, putting out some truly mind-boggling graphics details. Following the still pictures mentioned above, the mod has now been used to make actual footage too, posted to YouTube by jackfrags….
[PATCH NOTES] Star Wars Battlefront PC Update – 12/10/15
Here are the newest patch notes for the PC version of Star Wars: Battlefront. Most of it sounds reasonable. The Endor map should be more equal now, and Boba Fett’s missile lock was way to over powered. So no complains from me on this: Miscellaneous Updates and Tweaks: Added Dolby Atmos support for PC players Fixed an issue where one out of 12 players remained in the loading screen on Swamp Crashsite, Sorosuub Centroplex, and Graveyard of Giants in * * Heroes vs. Villains and Walker Assault multiplayer modes Fixed an issue where two players would spawn in a damage area that doesn’t match visual lava Walker Assault Updates and Tweaks: Increased AT-AT health on Endor Hero Updates and Tweaks: Removed auto-lock on Boba Fett´s missile. Weapons, Gadgets and Star Cards Tweaks: Tweaked impact damage for Impact grenade from 100 to 90
Star Wars Battlefront Launch Infographic
Electronic arts has posted Infographic showing some interesting stats about Star Wars: Battelfront since launch. Interesting enough, less then 1% of all AT-AT’s has been with tow cables, and Boba Fett is the most played hero/villain in the game. X-Wings get almost kill twice as much as Tie Fighters. I bet they did the same comparison with A-Wings vs Tie Interceptors and realized it would just be better for them not to show the stats. These stats should easily show us what needs balanced. Imperial ships suck ass compared to rebel ships. Everyone knows this. Force lightning / Chain lightning is better at killing large groups of enemies than force push is. Makes sense cause more range and hops from person to person. Millennium Falcon has 500k more kills than Slave 1. Both hero ships are OP, but Falcon is slightly more OP because of the shield. Can also take the Slave…
Star Wars Battlefront Helped Me Understand How The Empire Lost On Endor
You may be asking yourself how a military force like the Empire can possibly lose to the scruffy band of rebels. Well one writer thinks it may have something to do with the Imperial dress code. While I’ve only been playing the release version of Star Wars: Battlefront since yesterday, I’ve played enough to dread the forest moon of Endor. Any round played on the planet of Ewoks reverberates with the sound of exploding grenades and flashes with seemingly random gunfire, that’s the Empire’s shiny white Stormtroopers, tromping through the forest, desperately trying to fight an enemy they can’t see. You see grenades arcing in the direction that the mini-map paints red, which indicates an enemy coming towards. Then troopers aim tons of laser fire at the main origin of the red blasts that is coming towards them, just hoping to score a hit. “Here comes the Empire!” the Rebels…
Star Wars: Battelfront Patch 1.03 Notes
Star Wars: Battlefront has been patched, and it looks like DICE finally got the general bug fixed… To be honest, this has to be the worst patch notes ever! Was problem x fixed with your general stuff? – nahhh it was some other.. you know.. the thing.. with the bug.. stuff. I have no clue what have been fixed from below patch notes, but the Battlefront forum report Barrage grenades now taking longer to explode, giving targets more time to run clear. “Barrage takes SO MUCH LONGER TO BLOW UP IT’S 100 percent USELESS NOW,” screeched Battlefront forum member Yotsi. “Even spamming across map Barrage does nothing. They did more then nerf it they killed it.” Anyways.. Check out the patch notes below: General bug fixes for vehicles and physics improvements Game modes balancing tweaks HUD UI adjustments Audio optimizations General crash and stability fixes Online traffic performance improvements Various text fixes for…

The free DLC pack is set to come out tomorrow and with this, DICE and EA have just released a new trailer for the Battle of Jakku! All gamers who pre-ordered Star Wars: Battlefront will be the very first ones to enjoy the Battle of Jakku. The Battle of Jakku was the pivotal time when the New Republic confronted certain Imperial holdouts on a desert planet, located on the Outer Rim. Gamers that pre-ordered Star Wars: Battlefront can participate in the battle one week before others, starting on December 1st. All of the others will be able to get access on December 8th. Star Wars: Battlefront lets fans and gamers live…
EA: Expect More Star Wars: Battlefront Games
Here is to hoping that you really like Star Wars: Battlefront because Electronic Arts is not going to stop with it. EA CFO Blake Jorgensen, spoke during the UBS Global Technology Conference in San Francisco and stated the following about the 10 year licensing deal with Disney: “We struck a licensing deal with Disney a few years back that’s almost ten years in length. The game that comes out tomorrow, Star Wars Battlefront, is a traditional first-person style shooter game. Our goal is to make future Battlefront games as well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC. It’s a huge opportunity for us.” Jorgensen also confirmed that the deal with Disney does not only cover the six Star Wars movies released currently, but it also includes that new film, The Force Awakens and the spin-off installments. This means that…
Star Wars Battlefront Has More Players Online on PS4 Than PC and Xbox One Combined
Star Wars Battlefront has not been out very long and it looks like the PlayStation 4 is doing better than both the PC and Xbox One, when you look at current online players in Star Wars Battlefront. Surprisingly, the amount of current online players on PlayStation 4 is more than PC and Xbox One combined. Star Wars Battlefront Online Players PC: 19,889 (24h peak: 49,871) Xbox One: 50,573 (24h peak: 110,817) PlayStation 4: 98,254 (24h peak: 187,286) There are a possibility of a couple of reasons why the PlayStation 4 has more players than the Xbox One. PlayStation 4 has the biggest market share at the moment and EA had an exclusive deal with Sony. What is the most surprising is that PC players don’t seem to be as interested in Star Wars Battlefront. Maybe PC gamers aren’t very big fans of games that come from EA. The accuracy of…
Star Wars Battlefront Review List
Are you wondering what others are saying about Star Wars: Battlefront? Were you waiting on the release to see what others had to say before shelling out your own hard-earned cash on the game? You’re not alone. In fact, some fans are saying they are waiting until it’s been out for a bit to see if the price comes down, to see if there are any holiday sales to lower the price, and also to see what others are saying about the gameplay and longevity before they invest in it themselves. When looking to reviewers and critics to help you form your own opinions of a game you might be interested in playing, it’s important that you look at more than one review. Reviews are always biased (that is the point of a review) and there are many different factors that can play into a reason behind someone does or does not…
