Below wall of text is a good example of being transparent and informative without going overboard. Thank you Eric, now let’s keep it up all year. EricMusco Performance Status Update | 01.09.2015, 04:11 PM Hey folks, As I mentioned in my post last week, we have been working hard on assessing and figuring out how to address the “lag” issues which have been prominent since Game Update 3.0 went live. After speaking with our engineers, we thought the following would help explain what’s happening and what we are doing to address the issues: What The Problems Are Here are some of the issues that players have been experiencing since the launch of Game Update 3.0: Server performance: Ability delay, Latency issues Client performance:…
SWTOR Gree events returning end of Feb/March
Eric Musco just informed the community that the Gree events will be returning end of February/March. They team is still working out the exact timing, but they will update that information on our events page when we have it. Hey folks! When we started the Life Day event, we got questioned on two things almost immediately. Where is the Gree event and why is the Cyan Sphere on this vendor without it? Two valid questions. As I mentioned before the end of the year, it is our intent that the next time you see the Gree event it will be scaled to level 60. I am here to deliver news on both of these fronts! First, it is our plan right now that the Gree event will return end of February/March timeframe. We are still working out the exact timing but we will update that information on our events page…

Star Wars: Battlefront vs EA’s Open World Star Wars Game!
The new and upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront has not received a release date as of yet, but we do know that the date of “Holiday 2015” means that we have something to look forward to. Hopefully we will have some excellent gaming before we get our hands on the new Battlefront game. The question we want to ask today is would you rather play Star Wars: Battlefront or EA’s Open World Star Wars game? The only information that has been released for Star Wars: Battlefront is that there should be a small connection to the Star Wars: Episode VII-The Force Awakens, something in the likeness of easter eggs or characters and ships. Kotaku confirmed that EA was in development of an open world style game set in the Star Wars universe, but there are no details about what the game will include. We think that it will not be another…

Star Wars Battlefront business forecasts
The upcoming first person shooter Star Wars: Battlefront is predicted to be a huge seller for EA Games and the Star Wars franchise. With the release of Star Wars Episode VII during the New Year, it should help raise the popularity of the new game even more. Taking a look back to 2005 when the first Battlefront game was released it was a hit amongst many and rated 6th in overall sales, according to NPD. The new Battlefront game should be much better in comparison to the 2005 version with the new updated technology we have now. It will most likely be appealing to casual gamers and hardcore gamers alike, making the number of potential sales to rise even more. It could surpass the sale of other major first person shooters, such as Battlefield 4 and Destiny, which will release this year. Seeking Alpha has some insight on how they believe the…
BioWare responds to the current exploit “going around”
Eric Musco has taken on the forums, and explained that BioWare are aware of an exploit taking place in game, and that they will be taking appropriate action against those who have abused it. It is BioWares current plan to implement a fix for this issue next Tuesday, January 13, 2015. The Current Exploit “Going Around” | 01.07.2015, 07:28 PM Hey folks, Normally when an exploit exists, it is our policy to remain quiet until the issue is fixed. The reasoning behind that policy is that if we talk about or acknowledge an exploit, it can create a situation where we draw more attention to it. This can include people who didn’t previously know about it and can unintentionally make the issue more widespread. Without being specific, there is an exploit which has been present for a couple of weeks, that unfortunately has become more widespread than we typically see. It is being…

LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Android arrives for $6.99
LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga for Android is currently available on Amazon, and hasn’t shown up on the Play Store yet. This usually means a period of exclusivity, and it’s probably a good thing as the App Store listing shows it’s only compatible with around seven smartphones and nine tablets. More devices should be added, but you’ll want to check the list first and keep in mind it’s a big download as well. [Via androidpolice.com] When gamers first met LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game in 2005, it was a multi-platform title available for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, Gamecube, and PC (along with an isometric 2D version for the Game Boy Advance). It applied the virtual toy block treatment to worlds and events from the three Star Wars prequels, and sprinkled on some of the humor we’ve since come to expect from LEGO over the years. The game was a…
SWTOR: Ability Delay Update
Eric Musco took on the forums to speak about the ability delay issue, that many players are facing after game update 3.0. Check it out: EricMusco 01.02.2015, 08:35 PM Ability delay and the wearing thin of patience | 01.02.2015, 02:35 PM First off, Happy New Years everyone! I apologize if you feel a lack of communication around this issue. Unfortunately, I haven’t provided much since I do not have a status update as of yet. Here is what I can tell you. We definitely have not forgotten about this and the team is still assessing what the cause is, and how we can begin to address it. What I am going to do is to work with the team to get a status update with as much detail as I can, by next Friday (although hopefully before then!). Thank you again for your continued patience. We know that dealing with…

Gear Progression – All Classes
Reddit user Advanderer took screenshots of the gear progression of all classes in Star Wars: The old Republic. I’m personally happy that we left the visual progression far behind us in SWTOR. I remember back at the beginning were all level 50 players on the fleet looked exactly the same – Just like in World of Warcraft back in the days. The idea was you should be able to identify a higher level player just from the gear he wears. I’m happy that’s not the case anymore, and we now get to take our own approach on our looks. Check out the screenshots below:
SWTOR Open Source Community Spreadsheet Collection
DorjeeVajra started a SWTOR Open Source Community Spreadsheet Collection, over at the official forums. If you’re new and need help this is a good source of information. The hopes for the spreadsheet is that we work together as a community to: Create new Spreadsheets that are helpful to the community. Add helpful spreadsheets you have come across giving credit to the creator and providing a link of the source on the table of contents. Help add Links to Helpful Guides on the appropriate Guide Link Spreadsheets. Help add missing information to existing Spreadsheets. Help correct errors found on the existing Spreadsheets. Most importantly use the spreadsheets people have made to further enjoy the game. What’s in the Spreadsheet Collection so far: Clickable links to the spreadsheets below: Table of Contents. Are the recent free Star Wars games worth your time (and money)?
macworld.com posted an interesting story earlier this month, discussing the value of the new free Star Wars Games that has been up in the media over the last few years. The story is actually most about the new game called Star Wars: Galactic Defense, but the writer also takes a few shots at Star Wars: Commander. Until recently, the top Star Wars game available on the App Store was the cute and undeniably charming Tiny Death Star, an official spinoff of the immensely popular Tiny Tower that made a building management simulation feel light and breezy. But Disney suddenly pulled the game in October, leaving a potential void for Star Wars fans seeking a worthwhile free-to-play iPhone or iPad experience. But a couple of contenders have emerged of late, and both tackle different kinds of familiar mobile strategy genres. Disney’s own Star Wars: Commander uses Clash of Clans as a…
Star Wars: Battlefront Could Be Using Battlelog Service
attackofthefanboy.com noticed something interesting over at uprise’s website. Uprise is the company that developed the Battlelog service for Battlefield 4. Battlelog is a social networking service that allows gamers to see their statistics, read up on the latest news, customize their weapons and more. The system runs on on Android or iOS devices. Evidence that Battlelog will be coming to Star Wars: Battlefront can be seen on the official website forUprise. It’s possible Uprise could be working on something different for Star Wars: Battlefront, but the Battlelog service seems like the most logical thing. Maybe some type of other companion app is heading to Star Wars: Battlefront if it’s not Battlelog. It’ll be cool if a futuristic looking map would be utilized in the game. For now, we’ll just have to wait on official announcements for Star Wars: Battlefront from DICE or EA for more information. Little is known about…
Star Wars: Knights Of The Old Republic Launched on Android
Knights of the Old Republic, which holds the title as being both one of the greatest Star Wars games and one of the greatest games in general, is now finally available on Android. The game have been Available for well over a year on iOS, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was developed by Bioware, the company responsible for every great western RPG of the last fifteen years. Released in 2003, it was the prequel saga we both needed and deserved. Set four thousand years before the fall of Anakin Skywalker and rise of the Galactic Empire. Jedi are so ubiquitous that no one is even impressed with them anymore. The game puts you into a pivotal role during the great Jedi / Sith war which would shape the galaxy for millennia to come. The developer notes that because the game hasn’t been “slimmed down” in anyway, the file…
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Six Inch Action Figures Leaked Photo
TheForce.net has come in possession of a leaked photo, of action figures for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The picture apparently originates in a Chinese forum and features four characters that was seen in the Star Wars trailer. Presumably the first figure is Kylo Ren. He looks pretty much like the Revan rumor image that surfaced a few month back. Finn is without his Storm trooper armor it appears, but he wouldn’t ware that forever anyways. I am not sure who the third person is, but the last two must be BB-8 and Chewie. What do you guys think?
New SWTOR Tool – Cartel Market Tracker
Here is a new tool that launched today. A website to track the Cartel Market – swtorcartel.com It keeps track of the history of items in the Cartel Market (including price and availability). An example of this can be seen here www.swtorcartel.com/cartelitems/66 Whenever the cartel market changes there will be an automated post to reddit. This will break down new items, items no longer available, items that are available again, and price change (showing the old and new price). At the bottom of every list (including the home page) there is a graph which beaks down all the prices in that list. Features that I am currently working on and should be coming soon: Tracking Collections prices Including images with the cartel market item Breaking down the items included Links to posts about what is included in packs UI that is closer to what is seen in game Twitter Alerts…

SWTOR Gree event is coming back… Sooner or later
Eric Musco Just informed the community that the Gee event will be making a return to Star Wars: The old Republic, but it might be a while. The event needs to get an update, so it fits to level 60 game play first. Hey folks, I can confirm that it is definitely our plan to bring the Gree event back at some point in the future. When the event returns, it will also be scaled up to level 60. Unfortunately, I don’t have any details around timing yet but stay tuned for any future announcements! Thanks! -eric

BioWare won’t re-grant bugged achievements
Eric Musco Just informed the community that BioWare won’t give back players any achievements, that players lost with game update 3.0.1. That’s right folks. You now need to re- earn all your lost achievements! Hey folks, Unfortunately, for the achievements that we addressed in 3.0.1, you will need to earn them again. It is our usual policy that when an achievement is bugged, that once fixed, we will not re-grant the achievement. This is typically due to it being difficult to isolate players who have earned the achievement versus those who haven’t. As a side/related note, if you sold the Data Packets which you received from Grophets, you will need to earn those again as well. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by this. -eric
Star Wars Battlefront: Space to Ground Combat Confirmed?
Moviepilot has come to the conclusion that Star Wars: Battelfront will have Space to Ground Combat. The reason for this, is a game play trailer for the upcoming indie game: “No Man’s Sky” witch is developed by the same game engine. Check out the full article over at Moviepilot.com: Star Wars: Battlefront has yet to receive a release date for 2015, but we’re sure it’ll be hitting the Xbox One, PC and PS4 during the Holiday season of next year. A Star Wars christmas is all that we could ask for (oh wait…we got that film and it was horrendous…)! There is certainly a great deal that we expect from the Battlefront series, and from a Star Wars NextGen game made by DICE and EA. Each player is going to carry their own preferences and expectations for the title, but there’s certainly one thing that we all desire: Space to…
