I really enjoy them and if you are hearing about this for the first time now, please go back and watch Chapters 1-6 before you watch this one. Now, are you all up to speed? Great! Star Wars: Heir to the Empire – Chapter 6

Chapter 6 of Heir to the Empire, by Timothy Zahn. Adapted into a short fanfilm. Here’s a new one from DarthAngelus and it’s a very fun short. If you’ve seen previous chapters, then you can also note that the voice acting/sound quality and the animation has really come along, too. What’s this one about? Princess Leia and Han Solo are married and expecting Jedi twins. And Luke Skywalker has become the first in a long-awaited line of Jedi Knights. But thousands of light-years away, the last of the Emperor’s warlords has taken command of the shattered Imperial fleet, readied it for war, and pointed it at the fragile heart of the New Republic…. “I like markets. I like them very…

MACE WINDU – Star Wars Fan Film

It’s fan film time again and I love everything about this one. For one, I’m a big fan of Mace Windu and here we get to see a young Windu in action. Next, the acting was really great and the costuming was of professional level and keeping with the time period. It has the staple of a great Star Wars film – an awesome lightsaber duel. And the story is really great. While it’s a short film, you get immersed it in right away and I can’t wait to see more films by them. I wish they’d do more Windu but I’m sure anything they produce will be a fun, entertaining watch. Nearly 20 years before Phantom Menace, young Jedi Knight Mace Windu locates a missing Jedi. What he encounters is unexpected. See for yourself here: From the creators, Full Fledged Pro: Subscribe for more cinematic short films! Thanks for…

Star Wars Smuggler’s Fate

All of this social isolation means I’m spending even more time at home than usual (and that’s saying something) and I’m finding one way I enjoy passing that time is with new videos. And if it’s Star Wars, well, you know I’m gonna watch it. Star Wars fan films are totally my thing. The good, the bad, the ugly – and everything in between! I’ve said it before but there’s something great about even the “bad” fan films. The spirit of Star Wars that goes into each one is special in and of itself. Here’s the latest one I’m enjoying: Star Wars Smuggler’s Fate. It’s just over 10 minutes long and is the final part of a trilogy, so be sure to watch the others first, if you haven’t. While this one is not Hollywood-level acting or videography, it has a charge to it. I also really like the costuming…

The goal? To pitch a unique story in the Star Wars universe that will have the scale of Game of Thrones; the drama of Breaking Bad; the meticulousness of The Wire, and the visceral action of “The Raid”. Coming all the way from Copenhagen, Denmark, it seems…

War of the Stars Documentary

What does Star Wars mean to you? For many of us, it reminds us of our childhoods. It brings happiness, it brings nostalgia, it’s a story of hope, and a story of good triumphing over evil. For many people, it was and still is a way to escape for the real world. It’s a way to get lost in the fantasy, the drama, the lightsaber fights, and it’s an epic tale of hope and forgiveness. In the Polish fandom, it means all of that and more. Imagine if it meant all of that to you, but… it was illegal to have access to it. What if it was illegal to watch the movies, or to collect the merch? The Iron Curtain was the political, military, and ideological barrier erected by the Soviet Union after World War II to seal off itself and its dependent eastern and central European allies from…

Remnants of the Order – A Star Wars Fan Film

If you’re stuck in your house for social isolation, it’s a great time to catch up on some Star Wars fan films! That’s what I’ve been doing and I have a few great ones to bring to you over the next few days (or weeks). Starting with Remnants of the Order. This one is from FantastFilms and it’s a full-length film that comes in a little over 20 minutes long. The acting is great, the characters have real personality, and the film overall is well shot. I really love the look and feel of the whole thing We even get to see some personalities from the Troopers and it makes them feel more humanized and not just like fighter bots like some films. If it feels a little slow in the beginning, give it time. I got so invested around mid-way through, I just had to see what happened next!…

You can see it for yourself here: A really cool factoid about this fan film: they got James Arnold Taylor, the voice of Obi-Wan in the Clone Wars to be in their FAN film? This is sooo awesome! If you didn’t recognize him, he’s Leegus, the Empire Captain. How awesome is that little cameo? I just love it! Star Wars Fan Short with 70s Look and Feel is Definitely Worth a Watch

Dark Empire Episode 1: The Destiny of a Jedi is a recently released short film from WilkinsAnimations. With a run-time of approximately 12 minutes, it’s definitely not the length that makes it stand out. Instead, it’s unique, 1970s-era animation style and great story line are what keep you interested. In fact, the short is so good it actually feels like a teaser – just casually wetting your appetite for a full-length episode. The creator does have additional episodes in the works, which is exciting because this talented artist may be able to bring in a big enough audience to capture the attention of the likes of Lucasfilm Animation. The story follows an adventure featuring Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO. R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker. The events take place a few years beyond the battle of Endor. A new, unknown disturbance within the force has appeared in the galaxy, threatening all…
