I have another interesting fan film for you today. This one is fairly new so you may have missed it. It was published back on December 13th by urbanamadei on YouTube. It features a popular YouTube Parkour artist and a Holly wood stuntwoman for intense action fight scenes that look and feel realistic. Dark Jedi – A Star Wars Fan-Film with Parkour YouTuber Urbanamadei and Hollywood Stuntwoman Marie Mouroum from Star Wars Rise of Skywalker. Made by Lorenz Hideyoshi Ruwwe. See why one viewer said, ” This lightsaber duel makes the Last Jedi look like 6 yr olds with broomsticks!!” Check it out for yourself here: The choreography is clearly the star of the show on this one. The acting can come off a bit cheesy throughout, but that’s almost standard in fan films and didn’t prevent me from enjoying the short. However, it’s the choreography that steals the show….
While we wait
Star Wars Fan film: Origins
If you want to see one of the best Star Wars fan films of our time, this is one to check out from Star Wars Origins Film on YouTube. It’s a fun, behind the scenes look at how it all started. This origin story has a very interesting concept you need to see to understand (it’s worth it!) and it’s honestly one of the most unique fan films I’ve seen so far. STAR WARS: ORIGINS takes a unique look at where it all began. A thrilling action-adventure, this film draws inspiration from both STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES to tell an epic story based on Earth during WWII. The film described as “the epic fan film that will change the game” comes from award-winning team and life-long STAR WARS fans; writer/director Phil Hawkins (@philmblog) and Executive Producer Gary Cowan of Velvet Film Production (@VelvetFilm). Filmed in the Sahara Desert, Morocco,…
Star Wars Fan Short with 70s Look and Feel is Definitely Worth a Watch
Dark Empire Episode 1: The Destiny of a Jedi is a recently released short film from WilkinsAnimations. With a run-time of approximately 12 minutes, it’s definitely not the length that makes it stand out. Instead, it’s unique, 1970s-era animation style and great story line are what keep you interested. In fact, the short is so good it actually feels like a teaser – just casually wetting your appetite for a full-length episode. The creator does have additional episodes in the works, which is exciting because this talented artist may be able to bring in a big enough audience to capture the attention of the likes of Lucasfilm Animation. The story follows an adventure featuring Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO. R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker. The events take place a few years beyond the battle of Endor. A new, unknown disturbance within the force has appeared in the galaxy, threatening all…
Star Wars Fan Film: Stormtrooper Target Practice
It’s fan film time again! You know how I love those. This one from Millquas Movies is so worth the watch. It’s a great concept, acted and shot well, and it’s truly comedy gold. It’s not new, but even if you saw it years ago, it’s worth watching it again. The first annual Storm Trooper Target Practice. Fan film made for the Star Wars fan film awards, 2015. Check it out: “You’re kind of tall to be a stormtrooper…” “Sorry sir, it won’t happen again.” Hilarious one-liners everywhere. This would be an amazing series. I’d tune in every week to see what shenanigans the Stormtroopers were getting into next. Seriously. What do you think? I thought it was a fun little short (under 8 mins) and now it has me daydreaming of my ROTC days if we were all Stormtroopers… haha

Fan Film: Battle of the Dreadnoughts
Hey everyone! It’s Star Wars fan film time again. You know how much I love those! Here we have a short from EckhartsLadder that’s just over 5 minutes long. Give it a watch on your lunch break, if you want. It’s a lot of fun to watch and it’s very, very well done. Seriously, it could have (and should have) been an actual movie scene. Some of these fan films really know how to go all out and this one is great. You can really see and feel the passion in what they are doing here. Give it a watch if you haven’t already and let me know what you think. I definitely think there should be another one! Check it out below: Battle of the Dreadnoughts, A Star Wars Short Film, sees the Eclipse Super Star Destroyer — one of the Empire’s most devastating weapons — face off against…
Fan Film: Kylo Ren vs Darth Vader – FORCE OF DARKNESS
It’s fan film time again! Woooo! Regular readers know how much I love this. Seriously, I could spend all of a quiet Sunday afternoon just browsing YouTube and checking out these awesome fun videos. This one is perfect for fans of Kylo Ren or Darth Vader. What would happen if you pit those two against one another? Crazy, right? But here we get to see one person’s idea of what that might look like. It’s called Force of Darkness, and the short is just over 10 minutes long. So grab yourself some popcorn or a bag of chips and settle in for a little look-see. Star Wars Fan Film: The Young Jedi
If you’re a regular reader here, you know how I love Star Wars fan films. There’s something really magical about the way a fan community can come together to create beautiful works of art like we often see in these fan films. There are different reasons why people make Star Wars fan films but the love of the franchise is one thing that connects them all. It’s also the great connector that brings all of us, the viewers, in to watch these films as well. Here’s one from back in 2018. but it’s good and worth another watch even if you did see it before. It’s under 5 minutes long so this short is not going to take up your whole day, but you’ll be really impressed by it, I’m sure. It’s a lot of fun to watch and it has great visual effects, which makes sense, as that is…
Star Wars Fan Film “Shrouded Destiny”
Here’s the start of a very interesting fan film. Shahbaz Sarwar was born and raised in Copenhagen, Denmark and has been working on a film draft for 2 1/2 years. This is a test shot of that script in action. I really don’t want to ruin it by telling you much more about the film/story itself. You just need to watch it. It’s just over 6 minutes, so it’s not going to take up a lot of your time, but I think you’ll be glad you watched. It had me both rolling with laughter and screaming at my screen. It’s good. Very good. I’m going to let you see for yourself, but allow me to tell you a bit about the creator and the project itself. This is what Sarwar has to say about it: Like many people, “The Force Awakens” really got a lot of people back into Star…

ODYSSEY: A Star Wars Story – Fan Film
Odyssey has been a project in the works for over two years! It was a labor of love, talent, and hard work for sure. They have done a truly amazing job with this one. Honestly, it’s so above caliber that I almost don’t want to call it a “fan film” (and you guys know how much I love my fan films). Ever wondered what it would be like to see stormtroopers in a film like Saving Private Ryan? Well, this fan film is as close as you can get. This film is set in the Star Wars universe and it’s all about a war, and follows the life of a young rebel named Quinn on his first mission with the Odyssey Squadron. It has dramatic and uplifting music, great costumes (Rebel and Imperial uniforms that look professionally-made), great stories, and realistic acting. It ticks all the boxes for a really…
Star Wars – Battle of Sullust – Fan-Film
Ah, fan films… one thing that brings the Star Wars community leap years ahead of other fanatics. We love our Star Wars stories, games, and lore. And it shows in the sheer amount of fan films that are out there, along with the production quality and the time that gets put into making them. In Battle of Sullust, we get to experience an awesome fan film with great CGI, music, story and backdrops. It definitely feels like a fan film, but this isn’t a bad thing, since if you’ve been a regular here, you know I love them. This story takes place moments before the events in Star Wars The Clone Wars: Nightsisters. Anakin Skywalker joins in the battle for Sullust against the Separatists, offering help to the soldiers of the 144th Legion after they were stranded on the battlefield after the death of their general. This battle is important…
Star Wars Fan Film: Whisper in the Dark
It’s fan film time again! I really do love fan films and they bring out the best of the Star Wars community. people geeking out over what they love and coming together to bring other fans some fun and enjoyment as well. Even the “bad” fan films are good because they embody the spirit of what we love about Star Wars. Some of them are cheesy, some of them may not have professional-quality sound, or acting, or lighting. But they all embody the spirit of Star Wars and they nearly always have a great story. I suppose that is part of why I like them so much. So, here’s a fun one to entertain you for a bit. It’s just at 15 minutes long so you can watch it on a break even. It’s from TheJW Phillips and hopefully we see more from them in the future. Set in a…
BUCKETHEADS: A Star Wars Story
You know we love our fan films here and we have another fun one to bring to you today. Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be a Stormtrooper? What do they go through in life? What do they experience while trying to carry out their job? Now, in this new film, you can discover some answers to that. BUCKETHEADS is a Star Wars Fan Film from the Stormtroopers’ perspective. Shot in September 2017 in Vancouver, BC, Canada, it was a wonderful journey, with over 76 people directly involved in this effort to tell a Star Wars Story from the Imperial point of view. This film wouldn’t have been possible without the involvement of the 501st Legion, Vader’s fist. Learn more here: http://www.501st.com | http://www.whitearmor.net I had the very nerdy pleasure of meeting some of the 501st before and I can tell you they are amazing and they work…
Vader Episode 1: Shards of the Past
You know how we love our fan films here but we haven’t had any for you in a while. That is going to change today, however, because we have stumbled across an awesome new film for you to enjoy. As far as fan films go, this one is really top of the game. It will keep you hooked from start to finish and it really shows that it IS possible to take older characters and bring them back in new stories and new ways and it works. And it doesn’t feel like a fan film. That’s probably one of the best parts. It doesn’t feel like people in costumes. It is immersive. It is realistic. It will suck you in and you’ll forget it’s not an official film. In fact, some fans even feel like it’s better than some of the new official films we’re getting in the franchise. Yeah,…
The Dark Resurgence: A Star Wars Story (Fan Film)
There are so many things to love about May 4th, but of those, one of my favorites is all the Star Wars fan films that come out. There are so many great Star Wars fan films out there and in May of every year, we get to see even more. It’s an exciting time for any Star Wars fan. With that in mind, here’s another great film to add to your list. It’s just under 15 minutes long, so it’s a quick watch, but I think you’ll like it as much as we do. From Mike The Marine: “I’m proud to finally present, The Dark Resurgence: A Star Wars Story!!! My team and I worked hard on this film for a little over 2 years! Due to my school and work, the visual effects and editing took much longer. But in the end, the Force was with me and I…
Star Wars: Dresca – Award-Winning Fan Film
Here is another great Star Wars fan film. This one from Damsel in Damnation in honor of May the 4th. Not only is this an awesome short, but it’s also great to see the female lead and a fan film written, directed, and produced by a female fan. As a fellow female Star Wars fan and nerd, I love seeing this and supporting women doing an amazing job in this field. It has great acting, great CGI and effects and a wonderful story that will keep you hooked until the very end. It’s actually written and performed well enough that it could be part of the official canon (maybe minus a nitpick but overall, a winner). It’s honestly one of the best Star Wars fan films I’ve seen, and those of you who read our site often know that I have seen a lot of them. It has a great, original story,…
Scoundrels: A Smuggler’s Tale (A Star Wars Fan Film)
We have another Star Wars fan film for you to check out today. This was is new – was just added to YouTube on May 4th. They’ve done a really great job of it. It comes in at just over 20 minutes so it’s longer than a typical short, but shorter than a full-length movie. It has a good story, nice casting and an interesting plot. It’s a smuggler’s story and I was just talking to a friend today about how I have always loved smugglers. Funny that I would come across this right after that conversation. It has all the elements of a good smuggler story and a good Star Wars story. I don’t want to ruin it for you though, so really you just need to give it a watch for yourself. We’ve embedded it but head on over to their YouTube account and follow them if you want…
One day I’ll become… (Star Wars fan film)
You know how we love our fan films here. Here’s a little golden nugget that is absolutely worth your time to watch. It clocks in at just under 12 minutes, but they have absolutely done a lot with the time they have here. They say that they had no budget for this and it’s honestly amazing what they’ve created from so little. True talent is displayed here and I hope we’ll be able to see more films from him because it’s fantastic. For a fan film, it’s truly impressive. The quality is there, the story, and the visual effects are also amazing. It could easily be a tie-in or trailer to a professional Star Wars film. From Roman Gregorička: “This is a short fan film, our tribute to the Star Wars saga.It was made only with delight, enthusiasm and a zero budget.” See for yourself here: “It has always been my dream…
The Samurai Mandalorian – A Star Wars Fan-Film
Here we go with another awesome Star Wars fan film. This one has a samurai so I was intrigued from the start. It’s short, has live actors, great costumes, and an interesting story. It clocks in under four minutes long so you’re not going to need to block out a lot of your day to give it a quick watch. It has great music, too, and they are in the very, very beautiful castle Schauenburg in Dossenheim, Germany. I would personally love to be able to see this castle and location for myself. There’s an epic lightsaber battle, some beautiful shots of the sun setting and the scenery, mixed in with a great Samurai story as well. So go ahead and give it a few minutes and watch for yourself. Be sure to leave them a comment if you really liked it and maybe they’ll get around to making more for…
STAR WARS – Touch of the Past (Fan-Film)
You know how I feel about the fan films. We regularly scour YouTube and the rest of the internet searching for awesome Star Wars fan films. Sometimes we find great ones, like diamonds in the rough. Sometimes we find silly ones. Sometimes we find videos so bad they’re good. Whatever category they fall in, I love them. They’re like a guilty little pleasure and it’s my pleasure to also be able to share them with you. With that in mind, here’s the latest. Here we have another fan film from m3mr0ck. It’s called “Touch of the Past” and in this short that’s just over 3 minutes long, we get a brief but intriguing story. I’m honestly super pumped for part two and I hope they end up making another. This film has some great special effects and an interesting plot. There’s drama. There’s lightsabers. There’s great music. It has all the…
Together – A Star Wars Fan Film
Here’s another Star Wars fan film that you need to check out if you haven’t already. It’s called “Together” and it’s by Justin Christie. It was posted just last month, so we’re getting some fresh fan films to keep us busy while we await the next official Star Wars movies. This is a great film, all 3D animated in Cinema 4D with a great story. It’s only 4 minutes long so it’s not going to take a lot of your time to give it a quick watch, but I really enjoyed it. It’s well worth the time to watch it and I hope we see more from Justin soon. I really liked it. Hopefully, we will see more like this from him soon. When it comes to fan films, I’ve seen pretty much all of them so it’s refreshing when something really catches my attention and stands out to me. This is one…
THE SITH RELIC – Star Wars Fan Film
You know how we love Star Wars fan films here, and honestly, there’s no shortage of them out there to choose from. It seems there’s nearly as many Star Wars fan films as there are Star Wars fans. With that in mind, here’s an interesting one we dug up for you. This short film from Scruffy Looking Workshop was posted in Jan of this year and is just under 15 minutes long. It has a solid story, nice costuming and decent acting. It’s not just your typical lightsaber duel (not that there’s anything wrong with lightsabers, but we like to see something different). And if different is what you want, then you’re definitely going to get it with this one. There are some… uh… interesting little pieces in this one that you won’t see in other fan films. The reaction from those who have watched it seem mixed – either they love…
THE GREY JEDI : A STAR WARS STORY (Fan Film)
You guys know how I feel about fan films. I’ve said many times before that some of these fan films are just as good (or better in some ways) than a lot of the professional films out there. This is one that I can say with confidence is on that list. This is an absolutely amazing fan film! My only complaint is that it’s so short. I wanted to see more. I truly hope that this crew continues making more films because I’ll be first in line to get to see them. If you want to check out The Grey Jedi yourself, it’s shorter than 10 minutes so it won’t take up a lot of your day. It’s something you can do on a quick break even. So give it a watch! You’ll be so glad you did. See the short film here: Prologue : As the War of…
