This is a really awesome fan film from BTV that you have to see for yourself. Created entirely in GTA V using mods, this was an exhaustive creation with over 125 shots and fx, Rise of the Empire is their biggest Grand Theft Auto machinima. This is absolutely stunning! Visually it’s bright and crisp. The story and cinematography are engaging. The sound effects and music are spot-on. This film will get you excited just the way a Star Wars film should. You’ll be on the edge of your seat to see what happens next. Personally, I’m a fan of machinima already. I think it takes a lot of creativity and they can be so much fun to watch but this one goes above and beyond most I have seen. It’s clean, it’s realistic,…

A Look Back At KOTOR 2

In the Star Wars universe, we usually find it easy to see the difference between the Dark Side and the Light Side. Lightsaber colors, clothing choices, and other factors make it clear which side a character is on. This battle for balance between the Dark and Light is part of the point of the Star Wars story. If you played KOTOR 2, however, you start to see for the first time in a Star Wars game that there is grey area. Sometimes it’s not so easy to block a character into one side of the other. KOTOR 2 is the perfect example of this. In this game, the villain is not always so easy to spot. Sometimes the lines between “good” and “bad” are blurred, or difficult to spot. This is something that adds a new, creative, and more interesting element to KOTOR 2, versus KOTOR 1. Sometimes characters are…

And though his age has long passed, let us remember that one day, long ago, there existed something called a Jedi Sim. GaminGHD has a great video that takes us back in time to enjoy a bit of nostalgic video game and Star Wars history. Should Star Wars Expand its Gaming Horizons?

Star Wars has enjoyed a revitalisation to their franchise with the launch of a new series of films, beginning in 2015 with The Force Awakens. The trend continued with Rogue One which was released at the end of last year, with both movies enjoying great success at the box office with the latter surpassing the $800m mark following its release before Christmas. One of the most prominent avenues of the series’ success has been the fruitful transition of the franchise on to several gaming platforms. Beginning with the Empire Strikes Back on Atari in 1982, two years following the release of the film, the series has gone from strength to strength, and has even spawned several spin-offs in all formats, including shoot ‘em-ups, RPG and action-adventure. Where’s the Star Wars Slot Game? However, for all the success the series has enjoyed across multiple platforms, one area it has not strayed…

Star Wars: Inquisition (A Fan Film)

A rural family’s patience is tested as the Jedi padawan they’ve been hiding for years is putting their family at increasing risk. With their father dead, and their crops not selling, it’s time to decide what to do. Evil comes knocking, and one Jedi finds you can’t hide forever. A coward can’t be a hero. This Star Wars fan film from ThePsychoJellyfish is a good watch. It attempts to bring a deeper story to the Star Wars universe. It comes in just over 13 minutes so it’s a quick watch. It’s a little slow in parts and some of the acting a little stiff in places, but all in all, it’s a great story and it’s produced well. It’s unique, shows the struggles real people would have in this position, and the price that is often paid for trying to do the right thing during a time of war. What happens when…

Cancelled TIE Fighter vs X-Wing 2 Gameplay

What could be better than a Star Wars flight sim? Like most of you, I love Star Wars. I grew up loving Star Wars. There are so many things to love about the films, the characters, the story, and the universe. However, one thing that I loved more than anything else was the flying. As a little girl growing up, I wanted to be a pilot. I worshiped Top Gun and I used to love going to my friend’s house to play Microsoft Flight Simulator. So of course, when I watched Star Wars, I adored the flight scenes. From TIE Fighters to X-Wings to ships made from piles of junk and massive Star Destroyers, I loved them all. I loved in-space fights, races, and even just the typical “boring” flights from one planet to another. You can imagine then, that nothing would make me happier than a Star Wars game…
