Star Wars Games Bootlegs and Hacks

We’ve seen many Star Wars games: some good, some bad, some never released, but how about the hacks? YouTuber SpaceHamster gives us the rundown of some comically bad hacks bearing the Star Wars name. Some of these hacks are low effort ventures: Escape from Hoth inserts a tiny, pixelated Millennium Falcon into the Atari game Asteroids, for instance. There’s also a hack that inserts the name of iconic Star Wars characters into the NES game Baseball Stars but is otherwise identical to the original game. Other hacks are hilarious for the scenarios they generate. A fine example is a Battle City hack that puts Luke in the Death Star with an assault rifle. Another is the Yoda Bros., a minimalist, one-level hack of Super Mario Bros. Some hacks don’t even pretend to make much sense. Star Wars: Jedy (yes, that’s how it’s actually spelled) hacks the Sega Genesis game Wolfchild…

Which Star Wars Games Can You Play on a Mac?

The Old Republic is a great game, but it has one serious disadvantage: it’s only available for Windows computers. If you have a PC, that’s no problem, but what if you have a Mac? The selection of Star Wars games is a bit smaller, but it’s still out there. Here are 13 Star Wars games you can play on your Mac. If I’ve missed any good ones, be sure to let me know in the comments! LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga Who doesn’t love LEGO Star Wars? The games are quirky, challenging, highly replayable, and a hell of a lot of fun. The complete saga, which includes missions through all six movies, has over 160 characters that you can combine in wacky ways, co-op play, and new bounty hunter missions. For $20, it’s a steal, and it’s probably the best Star Wars game available for the Mac. LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone…

15 Huge questions we need answered after Star Wars: Force Awakens

We all know that Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens is the largest movie of the year, and if we go by pre-ticket sales it could also be the most anticipated movie of all-time. It’s so special and important to Star Wars fans not only because it’s a new chapter for the original saga, but it’s also picking up the story from three decades ago, and that’s a very long time to wait. The best news of all, it’s been a huge success! This article will not be talking about the milestones for the box office that it’s reached or any of its criticisms or merchandising records. If you have already seen the movie, you know that it raises a ton of questions to be answered and the ending is one of the most grueling parts of all. We want to warn you that if you have not…

Footage from Cancelled Star Wars Game Revealed

We’ve talked before here about the many cancelled Star Wars games. Between those that have been shut down and those that never made it to production, it’s enough to make a Star Wars fan’s heart break. This is why many of us get so hopeful when a new game is released. Star Wars First Assault was a FPS that was shut down back in 2012. Now and again we hear rumors about this but for the most part, we assume that any real evidence of this game has gone the way of the dodo. That was until… some footage mysteriously appeared online. Leave it to the Internet to uncover the obscure. An extended gameplay video surfaced earlier this month and shows the multiplayer aspect of the game. No actual combat is shown but we get a good look at a base in Tatooine, the would-be weapons and a decent look…

StarWars Uprising: Gear Types and Stats

There is a great post in the Uprising Subreddit that gives you all the info you need to know about gear types and stats. It has since been added to the game guides section so you can find it along with other great tools to help you in Star Wars: Uprising. Here is an overview: All the gear in the game has 3 primary stats, and 0 to 3 secondary stats. All of those stats can belong to one of 3 main categories: Offensive, Defensive and Utility. Please note that only Offensive and Defensive stats matter for PR, while Utility has more intangible advantages. At the moment precise correlation between the stats in the PR formula is unknown; it is clear that there’s no simple arithmetic addition or even multiplication, there’s more behind the curtain, but at least it’s clear that the addition of more stat usually gives more PR than comparison…

Komatu: Two Very Impressive Hours With The Star Wars Battlefront Beta

Patricia Hernandez it’s not actually a huge Star Wars fan, however after spending a few hours playing Star Wars: Battlefront on the PS4 a while back, she stated that she was starting to feel what all the fuss is about. This post is her experience with the time she spent with the game. The visuals are amazing but it’s not just because they are pretty to look at. In her opinion, the best thing that strikes her about them is how well they show off the work, threadbare quality that the majority of the objects found in the movie are seen as well. The blaster gun isn’t all fancy, it’s rough and rugged. Futuristic but still somehow old, which is simply amazing. With these graphics and the combination of DICE’s amazing audio design, Battlefront completely transports you into their world. Star Wars fans will absolutely love the details and the…

My Favorite Things About the Star Wars: Battlefront Beta

The Star Wars: Battlefront closed beta has become available a couple of days ago and it instantly vindicated all those who have put their trust into DICE to make this a game that would live up to the tremendous hype that preceded it. Indeed, as we followed the development of this game one bit of rumor/news at a time, it has become clear that no amount of effort would be spared to make this good and now all I can say is: it shows. The beta isn’t all milk and honey obviously, there are a number of smaller problems with it, but being positive a person, I’m not going to dwell on any of these minute and ultimately insignificant details, and I’m only going to focus on the bits that have left me thoroughly impressed. To start off: the graphics. In this day and age, raving about the visuals of…

Star Wars Imperial Assault Mod for ARMA 3 – Developer Diary #2

Here is the second of a series developer diaries covering behind the scenes information on progress of the Imperial Assault mod for ARMA 3. In this episode they cover off the response to the launch of package 1, package 2 contents and other team news. I love how Blue Harvest Interactive is a) putting out these videos and b) actually listening and interacting with the comments. It’s good to see devs who care about what the people have to say. They are listening and replying and it shows. That level of care into the fans can really mean success in this business. This is not to say a dev should let the fans dictate everything about their creation but it is refreshing to see open dialogue and interaction like this. With that said, check out the video and let us know what you think of the mod. — For more information…

Star Wars Battlefront: Walker Assault Mode Explained

Many fans of the new upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game are confused and excited about the new Walker Assault mode. There is no an explanation of the mode thanks to BattlefrontUpdates on YouTube. Walker Assault is an atypical game mode and it has many phases that repeat themselves. The Rebels will be taking out uplinks in order to summon the Y-Wings, the Walkers then arrive in a certain location, the Y-Wings strike back at the Walkers, and then it starts all over again. This scenario plays out in different locations on the map three different times. Walker Assault does not end until the Walkers make it to their shield generator or the Rebels may take them out before they make it to their destination. During this mode, the Rebels are typically on the offensive and the Empire is on the defensive end. Every phase begins with one location and two…

Star Wars Battlefront Speeder Bikes Are Not On-rails

All Star Wars fans will be happy to know that the Speeder Bike in Star Wars: Battlefront will not be on-rails in the game. The community manager for EA, Mathew Everett, answered some question about the game on Reddit not long ago. One fan asked if the Speeder Bike on Endor will be only on-rails in Star Wars: Battlefront. Everett replied with a “no” meaning you are able to drive them yourself. In the original Star Wars: Battlefront games, Speeder Bikes were playable without any kind of assistance from the gaming mechanics. Because of this, it was extremely easy to crash out often and we are interested in seeing how DICE will balance out this in the new game. Everett has also confirmed that the Walker Assault mode in Star Wars: Battlefront will not be the only mode that has vehicles in them. However, we won’t know all the details…

Star Wars: Battlefront hands-on preview – DICE strike back

At E3, fans that were in attendance got to actually play a demo of the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront. Until now, we have only seen snippets of footage from the game but now some lucky fans have actually been able to experience the game themselves. The following is two different reviews of Star Wars: Battlefront from Jason Serafino from Techtimes and the other is from Metro.uk.co. We have recapped their original reviews. Jason Serafino was lucky enough to be able to spend 20 minutes playing Star Wars: Battlefront at E3. Since this is a Battlefield game there is no story line and you are instantly put into the middle of the action. There is a downside to this because you aren’t sure of what you’re doing and he accidently set off his rocket pack which sent him 50 yards into the sky. Once he managed to figure everything out he…
