The official Star Wars Youtube channel posted a video called Star Wars: Battle Pod – From Concept to office design. The video goes behind the scenes of Star Wars: Battle Pod, a new arcade shooter from Lucasfilm, Disney Interactive, and Bandai Namco, in this special video from StarWars.com Star Wars: Battle Pod, with an enveloping dome screen, air blasts, and rumble, redefines the Star Wars arcade experience for a new generation. The first Star Wars game ever was an arcade shooter, released in 1983, and many other Star Wars arcade games followed through the years — Star Wars: Battle Pod hearkens back to that tradition. “We’re going back to our roots, so to speak,” says Lucasfilm’s Matt Shell, “in developing this really exciting arcade unit.” The game takes players through the original Star Wars trilogy, from the Battle of Yavin to Endor, with some surprises along the way. Combined with…

Star Wars: Battle Pod Arcade Game Is Like Living The Original Trilogy
A new Star Wars Battle Pod arcade style game has been released in the US and will be available to ship everywhere by March. This cool throw back style games uses a panoramic cockpit display. Because of this style of display it’s referencing back to Starblade in many ways. In 2001, Namco decided to make a sequel for the first Starblade. It was one of the first games in the USGF series that used a concave mirror to reflect the game and make a panoramic effect to make it feel real. It also used 3D graphics with polygons and was one of the first of its kind to do so. When Starblade Operation Blue Planet was shown at arcade shows, Namco wanted to make sure they impressed the way the original Starblade did. However, it never released to the public. The new Star Wars Battle Pod game is using the…
Newest Rumors on the Han Solo / Boba Fett Movie
Over the past week, we’ve been seeing some very interesting reports on the upcoming spin-off movies. First of all, if you haven’t heard, there’s a rumor about that says that we won’t see just a Boba Fett or a Han Solo movie, but that the spin-off will feature both of the beloved characters (latino-review.com). Very interesting. This seems to agree with some of the other rumors that we’ve heard, such as the fact that bounty hunters will be important to the film—here’s hoping we get to see IG-88 in action! (makingstarwars.net) Another interesting fact we’ve picked up on is that some of the shooting for the first spin-off will take place in Mexico (makingstarwars.net). Of course, if you know much about Mexico, you know that it would be a great place to shoot for just about any Star Wars planet: could look like Tatooine, Geonosis, Utapau, or just about anywhere else. Does…
Visceral Games “CAN’T WAIT” TO SHOW OFF NEW STAR WARS GAME, SOMETHING “VERY COOL” ON THE HORIZON
Following up on the upcoming Han Solo game rumor, we came by a few tweets from Amy Hennig, who is the Creative Director For the new ‘Star Wars’ Project, and Todd Stashwick who is Co-Writing Visceral’s Star Wars Game Everyone who has played the Uncharted trilogy video games understands how talented the writer, Amy Henning, is. The games made you feel like you were actually Nathan Drake, or one of his buddies, and it made you feel what the character felt. Amy Henning does not work for Naughty Dog anymore when she left to join EA’s Visceral Games in order to work on an unannounced Star Wars title. We assume that since the very talented writer is going to be a part of this new Star Wars game, we will be sure to experience a rollercoaster of emotions. We all know by now that there isn’t much info on the new Star Wars…
Rumor: Visceral Is Developing A Han Solo Game
Everyone is excited about The Force Awakens and because of this we sometimes forget that there are new Star Wars games in the works right now. We all know that Star Wars Battlefront is going to be released later in the year but Visceral has another game in development. EA has not yet revealed what the games will be about but there are many rumors of what it could possibly be. Star Wars 7 News is claiming that they know what it will be about. According to their sources it will be based on Han Solo and it could connect to a film. In 2013, EA stated that they would no longer be making any games developed from movies but this does not mean that the possibility of a game connecting with a new film could happen; it could be a prequel. This would be an exciting new take on…
Say Hello To Sabacc – the Star Wars Card Game
As every other iconic gambling game, so too Sabacc has crossed time and dimensions and reached our galaxy, and our interconnected network of computers. If you don’t know what Sabacc is, let’s take this journey together and discover. The first mention of Sabacc ever recorded on paper was in the second draft of The Empire Strikes Back script. In it, Han Solo recalls that his friend Lando Calrissian won Cloud City in a Sabacc game. Now that sounds like a high-roller game – winning a whole city in a card game is not too shabby. From that modest beginning Sabacc spread through the various worlds of the Old Republic. In its original form Sabacc is quite a complex game, a combination of blackjack, poker and a freewheeling slot machine. How can blackjack, poker and slot game come together in a single game? Check this out: The cards used in Sabacc aren’t made of paper, but rather are…
SWTOR Ranked third most popular MMORPG by the Xfire community in 2014
According to the Xfire community Star Wars: The Old Republic did very well on their final ranking for Digital Dozen. The scores were calculated by taking each weeks rank for the game and the games average ranking. If a game was not in the top 12 it did not end up on the list, giving it a score of zero. SWTOR ranked number 3 on the top 12. Its score in 2013 was 10.1 and rank was 3. The score for 2014 is 9.4 and the number of weeks that it was in the rankings is 52. The score for SWTOR did not drop nearly as much as its rival Guild Wars 2. SWTOR had an amazing strength during the last part of 2014 and took the number 2 spot away from GW2 in the last week of the year, after Bioware included new content, such as Shadow of Revan….
Star Wars Battlefront: Is THIS How Heroes Work?!
By now we all know that Star Wars: Battlefront does not have an official release date as of yet, but the people at EA and DICE are working hard on the game right now. When it comes to first person shooter games there have been many changes in the gaming industry. The question is do you think Star Wars: Battlefront will take on the form of Titanfall for the heroes? If DICE did follow the way Titanfall works each player will have an opportunity to play as a hero since the game is set on a timer. This would make it fair for every player in the game, but there are different ways DICE could make the game work. A player could become the hero once they have enough points, just like it works in Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and their killstreak formula. However, this can make it where…
Did Disney Abandon George Lucas’s Ideas for The Force Awakens? Does It Matter?
A quote from George Lucas on his ideas for Episode VII has kicked off some interesting discussion online lately. The ones that I sold to Disney, they came up to the decision that they didn’t really want to do those. So they made up their own. So it’s not the ones that I originally wrote [on screen in Star Wars: The Force Awakens]. Lucas said that in an interview with Nick Romano of Cinemablend, and the article published by Romano goes into some speculation as to what that means. He brings up some footage from 1983 that he says could have hinted as Lucas’s plans for seventh installment, but that seems like pretty shaky material. Slashfilm engaged in some further speculation about the sequence of events, discussing writer Michael Arndt’s departure over his disagreements with JJ Abrams. According to the rumor mill—via Slashfilm—both Lucas and Arndt wanted to focus on younger characters, while…
SWTOR: Complete KEYBINDING Guide and UI Tips
Keyboard keybinding is very personal and every player should edit and adjust their abilities to their own taste. With that said, in the linked video Vulkk shows us his personal bindings for both keyboard and mouse as well as various tips, tricks and reasons why certain skills should be located in certain spots and what is the logic behind each and every bound ability. The video examples the Jedi Sentinel keybinds, but the guide is made to be valid for all advanced classes. The ideal system is when all keybinds are the same or very similar for all of our alts, which makes remembering key press combinations a lot easier and saves us time.
Star Wars Battlefront Sticks To First Person Gameplay?
Fans are becoming desperate to learn more about Star Wars: Battlefront and since EA is holding off on giving an official release date, everyone is crossing their fingers that it will at least have a date for E3. EA has not stated too much about the game and one area that has become a controversial topic is whether or not it will have the ability to play in 3rd person. What EA has stated thus far has made everyone nervous. They said that they will have at least one major FPS per year, starting with Star Wars: Battlefront this year and Battlefield 5 next year. This could be their way of non-officially stating that the game will be solely FPS style. One thing we can all agree on is if they make it FPS with no third person perspective ability in the game, fans are going to be VERY upset….
SWTOR Stays at the 14 most played PC game in December 2014
It’s that time again to take a look at Raptr’s Top 20 Rankings and where our beloved SWTOR placed at the end of last year. According to the stats, Star Wars: The Old Republic close the year out as the 14th most played PC game. This isn’t the best ranking but it certainly beats out not being on the list at all. SWTOR released Shadow of Revan in December and the play time jumped by 33.35%. This is probably because of the release which gave Star Wars fans something new to be excited about! LoL closed off the year in the number one spot, no big surprise there! The play time for LoL jumped by 30.09% in December. Other notable games in the rankings are WoW which placed second, Dragon Age: Inquisition placed 6th and raised in the charts by 4 spots! Overall, SWTOR finished out the year of 2014…

Star Wars: Battlefront 3 Video Reveals Possible Features?
There has been much speculation and controversy about Star Wars: Battlefront because there has not been any solid information about the game except that it’s due to release late this year. Fans of the game could not find any information regarding the game as far as new abilities or gameplay information. Recently, a new video has been found on YouTube talking about what players will get to experience when it comes to new Force abilities. However, this new video has not been confirmed by the developers of the game or any other worthy source. There have been other videos that had information about gameplay but none of them have revealed as much as this one. The question is, do you think this information is viable and true? There have been a couple of other videos posted in regards to the gameplay, but nothing that is reportedly this revealing. The Force…
Star Wars Battlefront has Zombie Death Troopers? Here are the Changes We Want
With the latest news and rumors about Star Wars: Battlefront comes many hopes and expectations. With the game being set to release sometime late this year many are praying that there are some major improvements and additions to the series. Campaign Style: Take it to the next level Many players want the new Star Wars installment to have more focus on the campaign mode. Many players enjoy multiplayer shootouts, but for those who enjoy the story and “mission” style, we think EA should focus more on the story portion of the game. It seems that gaming developers are starting to slack on the campaign modes and are focusing more on the online multiplayer experience. This is all great, but there are many people out there who want to play single style; solo. Hopefully, EA will put enough focus on both parts of the game for the sake of every type…
The Spin-Off Movies: What Do We Know?
Ever since we found out that there were going to be standalone movies that focus on a single character in the Star Wars universe, we’ve had tons of questions—who would they center on? Who would be attached to write and direct? Who would be playing our favorite Star Wars characters? Although the first major announcement about these spin-offs came almost two years ago, we still haven’t learned a lot. We have managed to gather a few rumors, though. We’re confident that one of the films will focus on Han Solo, will take place between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope. Gary Whitta, writer of The Book of Eli and After Earth, was attached to the project, but left after completing the first draft of the script—though the split seems to be an amicable one, judging by Whitta’s support of Disney and Lucasfilm and director Gareth Edwards‘ public thanks to him for writing….
Massively’s Prediction for SWTOR in 2015
Everyone listen up! We have found an awesome story by Massively and their predictions of the Star Wars: The Old Republic game that is said to be releasing sometime this year by BioWare. They have made five awesome predictions and we are crossing our fingers that they are true! If you love Star Wars, which you must if you are reading our post, you NEED to read this story. Here is an excerpt and a link at the bottom. Have fun! It’s that time again to make my educated guesses on what BioWare will attempt to accomplish in the coming year with Star Wars: The Old Republic. In the last Hyperspace Beacon, I gave my grade card for how I think 2014 went, but now I extinguish the Force ghost of Christmas past and get a visit from the blue-glowy of Christmas yet to come. I don’t always get everything…
The Five People You Meet In A Bioware Game
BioWare is known for their huge open-world games with to-die-for graphics, unique characters, and long stories. The bottom line is that you go on missions, long journeys, boss fights, and then you are able to return to your spaceship, castle, or camp to talk to your recruits and friends you made along the way. Keeping this in mind, here are the top five characters that best stand for what BioWare is and shows off their games the best. Bastila Bastila is a beautiful Jedi that and she makes video game relationships seem quite real, plucking your emotional heartstrings along the way. She is the perfect example of how video games can make you feel like you’re actually falling in love. I’m not here to state that Bastila was a particularly unique character. She was, and is, some moonlit, sultry-toned lady Jedi existing solely to pluck the heartstrings of young men slowly…
BioWare’s Shadow Realms In Flux, Possibly Rebooted
Last year BioWare Austin had a surprise announcement about Shadow Realms but there is word that it may have some large changes, possibly being completely rebooted. The Austin branch of BioWare is famously known for making Star Wars: The Old Republic had originally announced the news of Shadow Realms to be an online 4 vs. 1 action style role playing game and it was to be released in the beginning of 2015. However, this is all changing. There are two different industry sources that are stating they heard Shadow Realms would be cancelled but another third source that is familiar with news about BioWare Austin, states that the game became overhauled in the later part of October. Now the latest plans for Shadow Realms is that it’s to be released in 2017 for the Xbox One, PC, and PS4. Shadow Realms, last year’s surprise announcement from BioWare Austin, is going…
Episode 7 Hype Escalating – Hasbro Reportedly Working on Line of Toys
As the release date of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens (and of the new Battlefront title) approaches, everyone is looking to get in on the action. Toymaker Hasbro has apparently prepared an extensive line of Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys, which includes blasters, light sabers, action figures and remote controlled droids. The company hasn’t exactly been keen on making its efforts public, but fans have dug up a list of toys Hasbro are allegedly working on right now. The figurines will be mostly 3.75-inch ones, and there will be a special “Black Series” line of action figures too, aimed at collectors. Alleged photographs of some of the toys were leaked as well, although they’re of somewhat questionable quality, and some of the figurines featured (like that of Chewbacca) are apparently older releases from Hasbro. There are other inconsistencies with the Chewbacca toy featured in the photos: apparently, the…
Origin users reporting unauthorized purchases appearing on their accounts
Origin users are reporting unauthorized game purchases on their accounts, pointing to EA’s platform falling victim to a hack. The reports first surfaced on Reddit and it is unclear as to how widespread this issue is. It could be that just a handful of users had poor passwords and had their accounts hacked, but another major and possible scenario is that Origin itself got hacked as a whole and that the hackers are now using their financial details to make unauthorized purchases. Some are looking at the November hacking of Origin, which was made by group DerpTrolling. They reported to have stolen information from over 1.7 million Origin accounts, but nobody really took this threat seriously. Maybe the group actually did get some valuable information, and after seeing the success of Lizard Squad and their hacking of Playstation Network and Xbox LIVE, have decided to take the next step. The…
Could We Ever Build a Real LIGHTSABER?
We all saw the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, right? Like, 100 times? And whether you’re a fan of the new lightsaber or you think it’s goofy, I’m sure we’d all love to get our hands on a real life version of this Jedi broadsword. But is such a thing even possible? While we can’t exactly control light to that degree, some exciting research has shown that we can make photons clump together like molecules under very peculiar circumstances. How are we able to boss light around, and what possible application could there be for this technology? Check out the video below. Also remember to check out our article on how Lightsabers work

Three ex-BioWare employees create best video game of 2014
With all the larger sites, picking other games, as the game of the year winner. A small news site called The Fresno Bee, has picked The Banner Saga, as Best Video Game of 2014. “The Banner Saga” is the first-born son of Stoic Studio, an independent game development company created by three former BioWare employees who had worked on “Star Wars: The Old Republic.” The trio followed the increasingly common trend of abandoning steady work at a large studio to start their own company, and they raised nearly $750,000 in a crowd-funding campaign to get them on their way. Its four main strengths: a dazzling art style rooted in a familiar place, a harsh storyline fit for times of war, the resurrection of “Final Fantasy Tactics” combat and the best musical score in video game history. Read the full article over at The Fresno Bee. If you are not sure what the game…
