Revan is a much more complicated character than most people realize. Karl Hewitt Paints Amazing Death Star Mural Over 20 Hours (and Records It)
Karl Hewitt painted a Death Star mural for a huge Star Wars fan, and recorded the whole thing (posted in time lapse) for us to see. It’s really, really awesome. The 31-year-old mural artist from Clywd, UK, got what must be one of the coolest jobs ever – to paint a giant Death Star mural. His business, Noo Design Murals, has been at it for about four years. It’s a whole different ballgame from his previous job as a forklift driver. While he’s new to the painting business, his natural talent clearly shines through in his amazing work, and I suspect it will only get better and better with time. RESCUE – A Star Wars Fan Film
Are you looking for a bit of Star Wars lightsaber action to perk up your day? You may want to take a 5-minute break and check out this awesome fan fic. It’s short, so it gets right to the action immediately. It’s called “Rescue”, which gives you a good idea of what’s going on when you start, but it has a twist ending you probably won’t see coming. I won’t spoil it for you, of course, but you should really check it out. It’s a short fan film with a lot of potential. There’s very little voice acting in it, but there doesn’t need to be. Battlefront 2 Microtransactions Are Gone – For Now
Players may have won the spat with EA over microtransactions in Battlefront II, but it’s not over. EA and DICE announced they would temporarily turn off the feature and many players rejoiced, counting this one a victory. However, the announcement made it very clear that loot boxes would be returning at some point in the future. “The ability to purchase crystals in-game will become available at a later date, only after we’ve made changes to the game,” said the statement. “We’ll share more details as we work through this.” So, this brings forth a couple of questions: How could they bring this back in a way that won’t create outrage? How will they recover from the death of microtransactions? EA stated in an SEC filing that, “this change is not expected to have a material impact on EA’s fiscal year 2018 financial guidance,” but it doesn’t seem to make a…
Star Wars Video Game Faces Gambling Charges
By now, you know all about the drama of EA’s Battlfront II after they announced the loot box system that would come with the game. This meant that in addition to the $60-80 you would pay for the base game, you could also spend more money on digital “boxes” that have a chance of giving you random benefits. You don’t know what’s in these boxes, it could be a dud like a random emote for your character. However, the boxes do have a chance of giving you something really great. This means the temptation to continue buying boxes until you get the goodies you want is very high. Even if you don’t get a dud, you may still be tempted to continue buying more boxes and continue getting more goodies to help you level up. Petition to Revoke EA’s Star Wars License
We all know how upset players have been with EA over the controversial launches of both Star Wars Battlefront I and II. When we all thought Battlefront II was going to be better, the redeeming game even, they threw a curveball and added loot crates. There was such an uproar over that, they actually had to suspend the idea (at least for now). For many Star Wars gamer fans, this was the last straw. EA has the rights to Star Wars games but it would seem they keep fumbling the ball with one mistake after another and the fans are the ones suffering. That’s why there is now a petition asking Lucasfilm to revoke EA’s license for making Star Wars games. Right now, it’s an exclusive license which means no other companies can make Star Wars games. The Collapse Of Visceral’s Ambitious Star Wars Game
By now, you probably have already heard that the anticipated game was canceled. It seemed like a winner, a Star Wars take on Uncharted, published by Electronic Arts and developed by the longrunning studio Visceral Games. However, we know how it goes in the land of video games and it’s not unusual for one to get the chopping block, even when it seems it will be a hit. On October 17, 2017, employees of Visceral were told the company would be closing. This meant their ambitious Star Wars game would also get the axe. The project was called Ragtag. It was meant to be EA’s entry into the action-adventure market—a linear Star Wars story set between the episode IV and V movies that would compete with the likes of Uncharted and Tomb Raider.
