Here is an interesting game mod by Bryon Anderson and the video is a review by XPGamers. Here are a few words from the creator explaining more of what he did: “Thank You TheXPGamer for taking the time to review my game mod. A few notes for you. The Skirmish you played is the planet type coded for night vision Clones so the trooper models you saw with the red visors were night vision clones and that is also why the 501st did not have their blue marking. Also the Clone Sergeants and Clone Lieutenants have increased site range from normal clones making them important to be kept with regular clones so they will see and shot at enemy units further away. Not sure how I forgot to add that to their descriptions. :p” He says he and his team worked for 4 years on the mod and are still…

See How the First Lightsaber Was Designed
You can’t think about Star Wars without thinking of lightsabers. Even non-fans will think of sabers when they hear “Star Wars”“. Yahoo Movies has an interesting piece for us, complete with video, that tells how the first lighsaber was designed. Gwynne Watkins tells us: Star Wars set decorator Roger Christian always knew that the lightsaber would be one of his most important creations. It was the Excalibur of George Lucas’s universe, the weapon that would save the galaxy. There was just one problem: He had no idea what it should look like. In this exclusive behind-the-scenes clip from the Star Warsdigital collection (available on multiple platforms Friday), Christian demonstrates how a discarded piece of camera equipment led to his iconic design for the lightsaber. Christian, who won an Oscar for his work on Star Wars, tells Yahoo Movies that the special effects department’s early designs for the lightsaber looked like…
Battlefront Third Person POV Distinction
Star Wars; Battlefront veterans are happy about the inclusion of third person POV but many are concerned with the customization options of this. It seems very few vets actually played the game from a first person POV (if you were one of them, we want to hear from you in the comments) but there are some possible issues with the default perspective of the third person POV, at least for many players. Check out this image: You can see the difference above. Battlefront vets: what say you on this? Do you want to see changes made to the third person POV? Did you play in first person mode and plan to do so again? What is the benefit or potential downside to each? Some fans are concerned that DICE will not listen to player complaints and concerns and that they are taking a “we know best” approach to the game…
Battlefront Will Run at Both 60fps AND 30fps on Consoles
If you are planning to play Star Wars: Battlefront on your console, there is some good news. It will run at 60fps in multiplayer and 30fps in offline split screen, so that’s pretty good frames either way you look at it. This means console players will still get a good looking game as well as reaction time you want to see from a shooter. With the kind of graphics they have put into this (even on the console version), the fact that it is expected to play at 60 frames is good. we’ll probably expect to see a lower resolution on the consoles to help account for this but with a graphic-heavy game like this, it’s to be expected. And, if you’re curious at seeing the difference in 30 vs. the 60, here’s a handy little link that does JUST THAT: http://30vs60.com/
Revenge of Revan Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II Mod
Here’s something really cool that’s ready (in beta) for you to download now and check it out. RevengeofRevan.com Developer Blog asks, “Can a mod be created that won’t disrupt KOTOR canon and still allow players to continue their stories from KOTOR1 and KOTOR2? Ever since the MMO was announced along with the Revan book, this has been on my mind. The short answer is: yes, it can be done. But the next part is, how you can do this without putting yourself in a corner and hurting your creative freedom?”” Revenge of Revan (RoR) does exactlly that. It will allow fans to continue their story based on the choices they make in the last two games so they can continue while still fitting the KoTOR canon. Even with the non-strict canon choice the story for the mod will still fit nicely between KOTOR2 and SWTOR in the large grand scheme of…
Versus Series Darth Malak VS Darth Vader
Here we have another great episode of the versus series: Darth Malak VS Darth Vader It’s a Darth vs Darth battle. This should be interesting… You know how we love these videos. They are a lot of fun for fans and even if we don’t agree on the outcome, or what it should be, it can be a lot of fun to watch. So here we go for this one: If you have seen these versus videos before, you know that they don’t always end the way we wish and sometimes that is part of the fun. In fact, some fans have even complained that they are biased but wouldn’t that kind of make logical sense too? I mean, the person creating the video is going to give it the outcome they think is most likely to happen. Yes, it will be based in lore and timelines and other facts from…

Cartel Coins vs Credits – A Guide to Unlocking Efficiently
You’ve probably noticed before that there is a disparity between the amount of credits and the number of cartel coins that are needed for unlocks. You could waste a lot of coins and credits trying to get unlocks but there is a very handy resource that makes it easier for you to unlock efficiently, making the most of your coins and credits. This one is coming at you from SWTOR Network and this guide is the updated version of the same from last year. Here is an introduction to the guide from the creator: “In order to compare the cost of legacy unlocks easily, I’m using ‘Credits per Coin’ which is simply the credit cost of each unlock, divided by the number of cartel coins the unlock costs. The higher the number, the more I’d recommend unlocking using Cartel Coins. Whether you should unlock an item with Cartel Coins or Credits…

We also look forward to any other bits of information that tell us more about the game such as gameplay, footage, info from developers and more. So here we have some released details about the new Hero System. Lazy Gamer tell us more about how Battlefront wants to turn us into a “beacon of hope”: REBEL SCUM! Who wants to be a meaningless foot soldier in the war between the Rebels and Empire, am I right? Sure, Stormtroopers have bitchin’ cool armour, but they’ve also got the depth perception of a cyclops and even worse aim. And Rebel soldiers have silly helmets. No, I want to be a badass. A Sith lord, a legendary bounty hunter or possibly a killer Ewok. At least two of those options will be available in…
How Star Wars Games Have Depicted the Battle of Hoth from 1982-2005
It is one of the most epic battles in the Star Wars universe. The Battle of Hoth. And over the years, it has been depicted in a variety of ways in video games and other cultural mediums. It is one of the most iconic Star Wars battles in video game history and it has evolved in an interesting way over the years. It all begins back in 1982 – a year I am quite partial to since it was the year I was born. It’s also when we saw the very first depiction of this battle in Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back for the Atari 2600 from Parker Brothers. No I do not actually remember this one personally, since I was just a wee babe, but I did see footage and game play years later and I know people who were able to experience it firsthand. Next, we would jump to…

Here’s more from their Gameplay Teaser: Again,…
IGN Slams the Haters
“Yes, there’s no space battles, no prequel content, and no single-player campaign, but we’re not worried yet.” Fans are pretty upset that IGN seems to be backing Star Wars Battlefront and they slam the haters in this video, giving their opinions and stating they they are not worried about the game. They read some “demands” from fans who are already expecting specific things from the game and complaining about things that have not happened yet. Of course, some fans don’t side with IGN on this one and claim that IGN is just being paid off by EA/DICE. Paid to have an opinion? Hmm… unheard of in journalism! *sarcasm* That said, it doesn’t mean they are paid fanboys. Maybe they just like the idea of the game. They do have some good points, even if you don’t agree with the overall positivity. For example, they talk about the difference in games…

Did Star Wars Galaxies Fail?
We have talked at length here before about Star Wars Galaxies. A good number of our readers were Star Wars: Galaxies fans for sure. So if you have yet to read Raph Koster’s write-ups on SWG, you are missing out. His final post in the series is Did Star Wars Galaxies Fail? and brings up some good points about the game, the community and what has become of it now. A snippet: So, was it a failure? Well yes, of course. And also, no. It depends how you ask the question. There are a lot of assumptions out there about how the game did, particularly in its original form. So, let’s start by tackling some of those: Galaxies actually had the best one-month conversion of any game at SOE, by a double-digit percentage. More new players decided to stick it out past one month. Given the one-month period, you can’t…
