The new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie has been predicted that it will be one of the highest grossing films ever, and some experts are suggesting that box-office revenues in excess of the current record, Avatar’s gross of $2.78 billon are within reach. Researchers have now showed us who exactly will be purchasing the tickets. According to cinema marketing data firm Movio Media, the average person to purchase a ticket in advance for Star Wars: The Force Awakens will be a United States 34 year old male. It’s predicted that 70% of ticket owners are men between the ages of 18 and 49. With Star Wars: Battlefront‘s November 17 release date drawing near fast, the beta wrapped up the other day, bringing an end to the most successful beta-testing period in the history of EA. Indeed, to call Star Wars: Battlefront successful at this point in time would probably be a major understatement. To celebrate the record-breaking beta accomplishment, EA have decided to publish some statistics regarding the time players spent in the game world and their various accomplishments. The numbers do indeed speak for themselves. Apparently, more than 9 million players played the beta, pouring a combined 1.6 billion minutes into the game, enough time to watch the entire trilogy about 4.2 million times. In this previous September, the Star Wars: Journey to the Force Awakens campaign began. This came along with a lot of brand new comics, books, and more clues that have started piecing together the 30 years that happens between Return of the Jedi and Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens. The new mobile game called Star Wars: Uprising was released with the rest of the above. The game follows a smuggler who helps the Rebels when one part of the Empire creates a blockade around the Anoat sector. This then sections off Hoth and Bespin from the other areas of the galaxy. The news of Star Wars: Infinity was not much of a surprise to many people in the video gaming world. Disney has a long history of adding relevant new characters to their Infinity franchise and with the release of the new Star Wars film this year, this news didn’t come as a surprise. One of the biggest changes that we see so far in the upcoming Star Wars: Battlefront game is that it will allow for more customization options, when compared to the older games. After watching the reveal trailer we found out that it will offer customizable loadouts to give you a specific playing style and it will also offer emotes for your use. EA Star Wars tweeted out that not only will there be loadouts and emotes but you will also be able to customize your character heads. Last Thursday, Lucasfilm and Disney both let everyone know about the newest update for Star Wars: Commander, the mobile game, which has a new storyline and different elements that can be used during gameplay. The popular mobile game was originally released in August of 2014 and since then it’s been a favorite among many, having 15 million downloads so far. This new campaign is called “Secret Alliances”, and the main goal is players fighting to keep the fate of the planet Er’Kit secure. I remember purchasing this game when it first came out and I fell in love with it. I would play for hours on end and never get tired of it. In this game, you choose from one of five Episode I-era Jedi to run, jump, slash, and use the Force with through the game’s ten levels. Each Jedi has his or her own Force powers and special items. For instance, Obi-Wan Kenobi has a forward dash-and-slash move and uses thermal detonators, while his teacher Qui-Gon Jinn produces a Force shock wave and tosses around pulse grenades. No matter which character you control though, you play through the film’s plot as if you were Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon, from the scene where the trade council tries to poison them to the final battle with the notorious evil Sith Darth Maul. Together with this exciting news, BioWare released a new trailer named “Conflict Rising”, that shows space battles with 12v12 dogfights. The star fighters were always my favorite part of Star Wars Galaxies, so I really am looking forward to this! I have to say that is a Great job by BioWare. At Star Wars Celebration V, George Lucas finally made the big announcement that the entire Star Wars saga would be released in a Blu-Ray box set in Fall 2011. Speaking about what will be included, Lucas said, “They’ll be different kinds of additional material,” adding, “I think you’ve seen enough behind the scenes (material) for a lifetime. There’s some really good material that will be included in there, (including) more deleted scenes that you haven’t seen yet.” Lucas said these newly released scenes would be kept separate from the film itself.
