The moment Star Wars fans have been waiting for has finally arrived. Fans have been itching for and asking for a film about Obi-Wan Kenobi and now it’s officially been released. We now have confirmation that an Obi-Wan Kenobi film is in the works. It’s at the planning stages and Stephen Daldry is negotiating the project. It’s very early in the planning phase to know too many details as of yet, but the rumor is Daldry will probably write and direct if he gets signed on. Hollywood Reporter says: “The Obi-Wan Kenobi stand-alone is one of several projects being developed by Lucasfilm and Disney that fall outside the trilogies telling the saga of the Skywalker family. A Han Solo movie is now in the final stages of shooting under new director Ron Howard, and Lucasfilm is also considering pics centering on Yoda and bounty hunter Boba Fett, among other characters….

Disney’s Possible Smoke and Mirrors Campaign
If you’ve followed Lucasfilm/LucasArts in the past, you know they go to great lengths to hide their story and plot when new films are coming out. Some of the crew of the original films even said they never got the full script – only the parts that applied to them – so no one knew the full story. The new films are operating on the same level of secrecy and this means it’s difficult to find anything but rumors when it comes to the making of the films. However, since rumors abound and leaks hit Episode 7 just months before it was revealed, some wonder if Disney is operating a campaign to be one step ahead of potential leaks. So some question the number of leaks coming out now and the potential that Disney could be running their own smoke and mirrors campaign to throw people off track. One of…

Disney Brings in More Help to Rogue One
Fans are pumped up for Star Wars: Rogue One and sources say Disney will be bringing on more help for the reshooting. Simon Crane, who has worked as a Second Unit Director or stunt coordinator for such films as Jason Bourne, Edge of Tomorrow and Quantum of Solac, will be joining the Rogue One team. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the fact that Crane is on the scene probably indicates some of the reshoots will have retouching to the action sequences. You may have already read that Tony Gilroy was also brought on to help oversee the reshoots and provide additional material to the film. Hollywood Reporter says: Rogue One, being directed by Gareth Edwards, will undergo significant additional filming this summer, it was revealed earlier this week. Disney and Lucasfilm are hoping to accomplish several goals with the reshoots, including working on the tone of what has been described by sources as a “war movie.” The…
It is settled. Supreme Leader Snoke is NOT Darth Plagueis
Ever since The Force Awakens made its big debut, fans have been speculating about Supreme Leader Snoke. We know next to nothing about this villain so far and you can bet that has a lot of people creating their own theories about it. Who is Snoke? Of the many theories out there, some are silly, some are crazy, and some just might actually make sense. Of course, none of us know for certain and we’ll likely have to wait for the next film to come out to get answers to this big question. One of these theories is that Snoke is Darth Plagueis. Slashfilm’s Ethan Anderton dispels this myth in this post: For whatever reason, some Star Wars fans seem hellbent on trying Supreme Leader Snoke to a Sith master who was briefly mentioned in Revenge of the Sith. If you’re one of those casual fans who doesn’t remember this detail, or…
Star Wars: The Force Awakens crosses $2 billion worldwide
Well, now they’ve done it! We knew it was coming and the newest film, Star Wars: The Force Awakens has now officially made $2 billion in the box office worldwide. This makes it only the third film in history to ever hit that number. The other two movies to make more than $2 billion in the box office were Titanic at $2.19 billion and Avatar at $2.79 billion. This is a huge milestone for the film, but not really a surprising one. On Friday, Disney announced The Force Awakens had made $900 million domestically, becoming the only film in history to hit that number. The Star Wars franchise has been and will likely remain incredibly popular for many generations. So while this is a historic moment for Disney, there’s a good chance the next films will break records too. “This is a historic moment for Star Wars, for Lucasfilm, and for Disney, and all of us here are…
More Star Wars after the New Trilogy
If you thought all we had to look forward to was the new trilogy, then Star Wars fans can sit back and listen to some very good news: Word in the industry is that we are going to see more Star Wars films after the newest trilogy. Bob Iger told the BBC that plans to continue delivering space opera installments were in place for beyond 2019, when Colin Trevorrow’s Episode IX is due to hit cinemas. That’s great news, right? If you’re a Star Wars fan, then I’d say it probably is. Of course some people are skeptical about whether or not these films are going to be good, and whether or not they can keep the franchise going with that many films and it still be successful but if anything can do it, it’s Star Wars. “There are five Star Wars films – four more with Episode VII: The…
