If you missed Force Friday last week, don’t worry. That was just the big reveal but there’s still time to get all of the awesome new merchandise. Last week, Disney unveiled toys from the upcoming film in various store locations around the world to coincide with Force Friday, when consumers can purchase the items. We headed out to our local WalMart where we saw some fun items, including a Darth Vader bigger than my 3-year-old and we also picked up some posters for Droid Tales. Check out these goodies from LEGO: One of the most iconic starships of the Star Wars saga is back, and it’s leaner and meaner than ever before! “Star Trek: Renegades” Fan Film is Available Online
We know some of our fellow Star Wars fans are also Star Trek fans and you might like this little piece of news: the new unofficial Star Trek film is available online for free! “Star Trek: Renegades” is a planned Internet series and the first 90-minute episode was released on Monday, August 24th via YouTube. It was financed primarily by three crowdfunding campaigns over the last several years and it’s not part of the official Star Trek universe. You can learn more or support the ongoing efforts from their official website for Star Trek Renegades. All in all, it’s a pretty good film, especially to see what they did with the budget they had to work with. See if for yourself: About Star Trek: Renegades: Star Trek Renegades is an independent fan funded and supported Internet television Series, produced by Sky Conway. KOTFE in LEGO
Allow me to remind everyone again of how I love Star Wars and LEGO. Then you’ll understand why I love this fan art done with LEGO to represent KOTFE and I think you can appreciate it too, even if you’re not a big LEGO fan like me. These were created by a fan named Qeusen and posted to DeviantArt and took about an hour to render. The eyebrows are an especially nice touch (you’ll know what I mean if you saw the trailer). It will be nice if we get more actual TOR LEGO sets. And if the new movie gets an accompanying LEGO game, all the better! This is a very cute fan creation, however. While it’d surely take forever, it’d be awesome to see the entire trailer done in LEGO. Do you have any LEGO Star Wars/ LEGO TOR creations of your own? We want to see them!…
Versus Series | Revan vs Galen Marek: Video
The Balance of the Force. Who is the true master of the light and dark? That is a very good question for Star Wars fans everywhere and this versus video attempts to answer that, complete with some background on each character and a timeline of events of progression. This Versus video, just over 30 minutes runtime, explains the background of Revan and Marek, including how they came into power, how they changed over time and other life and background info. It’s a good recap too for those who might not remember (or just don’t know) the full stories of each. As we’ve said before about these versus videos, this is just one person’s interpretation of the outcome of the matchup. It’s quite common that we see fans squabble over this and honestly, it’s part of the fun for me. Seeing how different fans interpret the potential faceoff and who…
Star Wars Battlefront Classes in LEGO Form
Okay, regular readers know what a big LEGO fan I am. There are few things I love more than LEGO Star Wars so I found this pretty cool and had to share it with you. You can see from the images below that another fan created some Star Wars Battlefront classes out of minifigs. They’re pretty spot on with what the real classes would look like and the builder had a fine eye for detail when it comes to getting these right. battle front classes Here we have seven images that depict the Star Wars Battlefront classes. There’s the Clone Trooper, Heavy Trooper, Sharpshooter, Engineer, Clone Commander, and Jet Trooper. The Jet Trooper’s gun isn’t exactly spot on since it should be a little bit wider but we think he did awesome with what he had to work with. You could probably also do Rebels and Stormtroopers if you wanted…
Do You Save Your Game Boxes?
A player posted this on Imgur and got me thinking about something: Do you still have your original SWTOR case? I very clearly remember the countdown for the game. Some of you will know already that we spent years here writing about SWTOR even before the launch so it was a very exciting time to finally have the game coming out. Looking back on that game box image makes me think of those early days and the anticipation, combined with our excitement to finally be playing the game. It also brings up some thoughts about game boxes in general. The topic of SWTOR game cases/boxes reminds me of a conversation I was having with a good friend recently. We were reminiscing on how we always saved our video game boxes back in the day. I had Collector’s Editions of everything I played when it was offered and I often kept the boxes…
Interesting Darth Revan Costume: A Review
Here is a great video review about Darth Revan armor and how you can get it for yourself. The roughly 30-minute video has an excellent intro depicting the Revan costume, info about custom-made armor, and pretty much everything you need to know to do this for yourself. If you’re a cosplayer, a Revan fan or want to get an awesome gift for a Revan fan in your life, this is a video you want to take some time to see. If you’ve purchased (or plan to purchase) this costume for yourself, don’t skip through the video. It contains some very, very helpful information and tips that will save you a lot of time and hassle when your costume arrives. He also tells where he got his lightsabers from so watch the full video if you want to know how to get the complete look. Note: Pants and boots do not…
Jar Jar Binks Inspired by Goofy, According to George Lucas
Jar Jar Binks just might be one of the most hated Star Wars characters ever. Honestly, I’m not sure why. I really didn’t think he was that bad. Unlike many who seem to have been annoyed greatly by the character, I found him a bit charming. (I know, I know… don’t shoot me.) When George Lucas was making Star Wars: The Phantom Menace (1999), he famously said, “Jar Jar’s the key to all this, if we get Jar Jar working. ‘Cause he’s a funnier character than we’ve ever had in the movies.” That really didn’t work out so well for him since Binks ended up becoming one of the most hated movie characters ever. That doesn’t seem to sway Lucas very much, as he still loves Jar Jar At the recent Disney D3 Expo, Lucas explained how he feels about Binks, why he loves the character and how he was inspired by…
Star Wars: The Force Awakens Runtime Revealed by J.J. Abrams
If you’ve been following the updates and news for the new Star Wars film, you might already know that a runtime has been released. During Disney’s D23 Expo, director J.J. Abrams revealed the runtime for Star Wars: The Force Awakens: 2 hours and 4 minutes. That also happens to be the same runtime as the franchise’s most beloved film, Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back. Of course, the movie is still being edited so this runtime could change before the movie is actually set to release in the theater, December 2015. By movie standards, that’s a little long but certainly not unbearably or unusually long. Here’s how the runtime of The Force Awakens compares to the other films: Star Wars I: The Phantom Menace Runtime: 136 min Star Wars II: Attack of the Clones Runtime: 142 min Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith Runtime: 140 min Star…
Tips for Getting the Most from 12x Experience Bonus
The clock is ticking for the new SWTOR expansion and as we get closer to the actual release, gamers are getting ready in a variety of ways. The subscriber perk that gives you 12x XP is also winding down and if you want to get the most of it before it ends on October 19th, here are some tips. Prepare in advance. It sounds like a no-brainer but the more things you can get ready in advance, the faster you will be able to level your characters and take full advantage of this XP boost while it lasts. Get some major/minor xp boosts. Be sure you are getting standard boosts and not the ones designed specifically for FP, exploration, class quests, etc.) You can use these to add even more XP boost. Regular boosts WILL stack with the 12x. Get a stronghold (if you don’t have one already). Legacy storage,…
President of Lucasfilm talks Han Solo Movie
Are you worried about the upcoming Han Solo spinoff that is planned as a standalone film? Many fans are concerned that they will ruin one of the best characters from Star Wars ever. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy talked a great deal about the spinoff (still untitled) and what we can expect. It’s written by Jon and Lawrence Kasdan, directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, and scheduled for release May 25, 2018. So we have quite awhile to wait for it but that doesn’t stop people from being interested in it. A big question from the start is in regards to the timeline. How old will Solo be in this film? “He’ll definitely be probably in the high teens, low 20s,” Kennedy said to the magazine. “We’re not introducing you to a 10-year-old Han Solo.” That does make sense and we’ll have to wait awhile to know…
LEGO Star Wars Sets List
As regular readers will know, I love Star Wars and I love LEGO. So imagine how excited I am to hear about the new Star Wars LEGO sets coming in 2016! The set lists are out and there are some pretty cool things for The Force Awakens, the Original Trilogy, Rebels, Battlefront and more. The crew over at MintinBox have some very interesting info about the 2016 winter sets (awesome since the Summer 2015 sets are not even out yet). The list is extensive, meaning we will see a lot of Star Wars LEGO upcoming (no surprise based on the release of the new film). The list begins with The Force Awakens sets: Microfighter Microfighter Hero Battle Pack Villain Battle Pack Battle on Takodana The Pirate Transport First Order Stormtrooper Constraction Figure Then we have some Original Trilogy sets: Hoth Attack Bespin Carbon Freezing Chamber Droid Escape Pod I’m excited about the new Bespin set for…
Cover Girl Star Wars Campaign
With the upcoming movie, we can expect to see a lot more Star Wars merchandise but one thing you probably don’t think about when you think Star Wars is makeup. Cover Girl is out to change all of that. They have a new, exclusive, limited-edition Star Wars collection that features shiny, metallic lipsticks, deep nail polishes and more. Allure tells us more about the special edition makeup that releases in early September: A long time ago, in a galaxy not so far, far away, a movie was made that inspired an epic hairstyle—the Princess Leia. Two trilogies and almost four decades later, we’re still getting beauty inspo from the women of Star Wars. In celebration of the new film The Force Awakens, out this December, CoverGirl is releasing a limited-edition collection of makeup that begs the question: Are you on the light side or the dark side? Check out the whole collection…

Rumor Says Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic is Being Remade for Xbox One and PS4
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (KOTOR) is one of the most popular Star Wars games to ever be. We’ve talked about it a great deal here on the site and we are very excited about a rumor that suggests there might be a remake being created for XBox One and PS4. It’s still just a rumor so take it for what it’s worth but we are excited at the possibility that this might happen. Cinelinx reports on the rumor: One of the most popular and critically acclaimed Star Wars games ever released is over a decade old now, and for the last few years many fans have been clamoring for an updated version of the game for current consoles…Well guys it looks like next year you’ll be getting your wish. Come inside to learn more! Before I get into this scoop too much, I want to clarify something….
Who Is Nico Okarr, The New SWTOR Companion?
You’ve probably already heard that the upcoming expansion Knights of the Fallen Empire will feature a new companion but what do you really know about that companion? Nico Okarr will be made available to players who were actively subscribed on July 31st or August 10th, 2015. You may recall Nico from the third trailer for SWTOR, Return. In this trailer he was being escorted to a holding cell by Satele Shan and Jace Malcolm. Here it is for those who need refreshing: As you will see, Nico is a smuggler archetype and we really know very little about him. Of course the assumption is this will all be revealed in the companion story line. The Star Wars: The Old Republic Encyclopedia says he used to work for the Hutt Cartel and we know from the trailer that he was caught smuggling Sith artifacts. IN typical Smuggler style, he wears a cowboy hat and duster and he duel…
Yavin 4 Stronghold Easter Egg
How cool is this? You know how we live Easter eggs and other little gems in SWTOR. Here we have a Yavin 4 Stronghold goodie you may not have seen yet. Most Star Wars fans are familiar with the iconic scene from Star Wars IV just before they go to attack the Death Star. Have a look and let us know what you think. What other Easter eggs have you discovered in the game?
A Little SWTOR Story
So one SWTOR and their significant other combined their character legacies to reflect the complicated relationships between them and the results are pretty entertaining. Here is the image and description for your enjoyment. “My SO and I play a lot of SWTOR together. We tend to lightly roleplay our characters and this has led to pretty complex relationships between them. Thus we decided to make a chart.” We’re actually finding there are a lot of people who are doing this sort of thing with their Legacy connections, especially those who role-play in the game regularly. But it’s not just the RPers who can enjoy a little fun with small or side details in the game. What do you think? Ever done something like this?
Star Wars Imperial Assault Mod for ARMA 3 – Developer Diary #2
Here is the second of a series developer diaries covering behind the scenes information on progress of the Imperial Assault mod for ARMA 3. In this episode they cover off the response to the launch of package 1, package 2 contents and other team news. I love how Blue Harvest Interactive is a) putting out these videos and b) actually listening and interacting with the comments. It’s good to see devs who care about what the people have to say. They are listening and replying and it shows. That level of care into the fans can really mean success in this business. This is not to say a dev should let the fans dictate everything about their creation but it is refreshing to see open dialogue and interaction like this. With that said, check out the video and let us know what you think of the mod. — For more information…
SWTOR Personal Armies
We’re noticing a trend in many SWTOR players these days – building “armies” in their strongholds. While it might seem a little bit like an epeen contest, if you have actually seen some of the things that are being created, you will likely be a bit impressed, too. Reddit user Baianai, for example, created an awesome 7th Assault Armor Battalion of the Imperial Army. In short, it’s pretty freaking awesome. There are a variety of ways that players are getting these armies. In the one pictured below, the player made use of the GTN and clever skills at playing the market to build up their battalion. However, this is not absolutely required to make your own personal army since there are many ways to do it and part of the fun is seeing all the ways players are finding to get creative with it. Here’s another personal army by Reddit user, Derzelaz….
SWTOR XS Stock Freighter LEGO MOC
Here is a really awesome LEGO project by DrewRaub. Here he has an Imgur album detailing the design and building of his SWTOR MOC. Those of you who have been reading our site for awhile know that I am a huge nerd for all things LEGO and all things Star Wars so of course, I’m a fan of SWTOR/Star Wars LEGO sets. While this is a very niche set, the OP could still post it to LEGO ideas, as they are great about monitoring it and getting fan favorites into action. You can also order/buy the pieces and build the set yourself but it will run you around $275-300 based on the creator’s guidelines and the current cost of LEGO bricks. Whether you want to get it and build it yourself or just admire the great creative job by Drew, it’s pretty awesome so we’ll share his full album below so you…
Will Star Wars: Battlefront Have Depth that Players Want?
Here’s a discussion that is up for debate (and it likely won’t be the last time we see it being discussed): Does Star Wars: Battlefront have enough depth? Does it even have a chance to have the level of depth that some players seek? Are some people expecting too much from their multiplayer shooters these days? As gaming evolves, so does the technology in which we use to enjoy it. So also does the tastes and expectations of the people who play the games. We’ve heard many excited Alpha testers admit that they are a bit let down by the not-quite-final product of the game. Thus starts the debate between the “cynics” and the “fanboys” and with both sides going at one another, we often don’t hear real evidence about the game itself. So let’s take a look at the two main points of view and then we’d like to…

The purpose of this film is to showcase the talents of its participants, with the motivation of indie filmmakers. This film was done as…
Star Wars Uprising – Dev Diary Introduction
I have been looking forward to Star wars: Uprising and thus, following along with updates from the dev team that tell us a bit more about the game. All too often we see mobile games that are movie tie-ins just created to be quick money grabs. Kabam! is known for putting more effort and depth into their games and this one is going to be no exception. In fact, this one might set a precedent. The new Dev Diary Introduction video will show you just what I mean. They’ve actually tried to create a real Star Wars experience in the palm of your hand with this one and you can color me impressed. I think there is one person on the team who probably has a lot to do with that. Daniel Erickson who was creative director on SWTOR, is now creative director on Star Wars: Uprising. It’s nice to see…
