Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR) Game Update 7.6 has brought exciting new content to the galaxy far, far away, but even the smoothest hyperspace jumps sometimes hit a turbulence pocket. As players dive into new missions, rewards, and mechanics, a few bugs and quirks have surfaced, creating unintended obstacles in the adventure. Here’s a look at some of the known issues in Game Update 7.6, what they mean, and how they might impact your gameplay. Kai Zykken’s MK-85 Log Mount and Achievement Titles Missing One of the more noticeable hiccups in Update 7.6 is the absence of certain rewards for players who participated in the Public Test Server (PTS). Specifically: Why It’s a Problem Achievements and rewards are a huge part of SWTOR’s progression and satisfaction. Not receiving these items can be frustrating, especially for those who put in the effort during the PTS to earn them. What You…

SWTOR Season 7 Update
Eric Musco too on the official forums to explain why it took the SWTOR Developers so damn long to release the Top 96 pvp titles for Season 7. Season 7 Update | 01.13.2017, 02:46 PM Hey folks, Let’s talk about Season 7. We have just finished our full investigation of Season 7 and a few things have happened. All users who were found to be win-trading, hacking, botting, etc. have had their Season 7 ratings wiped out on all of their characters, they have been removed from the leaderboards, and appropriate ToS action has been levied against their account. With those actions being taken, we have gone ahead and sent the top 96 titles to the top performers of Season 7, so be sure to check your mailbox. We wanted to explain a little bit about why this process delayed the Season 7 rewards. In past seasons we started to…
SWTOR: Is this lack of communication normal?
Eric Musco took on the forums earlier today to address the lack of communication from the SWTOR Developers. Hey folks, I thought this thread was a good opportunity to talk about the communication as of late. Although I may not post every day, I am definitely here, reading the forums. I know that there is frustration right now because you are all eager to learn more about what is coming in Knights of the Eternal Throne. We just aren’t ready to talk about Eternal Throne yet, and so I can’t answer your questions at this time. But, I do want to make sure you know when we will begin really talking about Eternal Throne. That date is October 7th. The day/night of our New York Comic-con Cantina is when you can expect details about Eternal Throne. Once we have crossed the 7th (and through launch), I will be able to…
Bioware on Missing Monthly Cartel Coins in SWTOR
Eric Musco address an issue regarding missing monthly cartel coins for some players. Subscribers check your cartel coin ledgers, BioWare may be ripping you off. | 03.28.2016, 04:44 PM Hey folks, I wanted to pop in this thread and address your concerns with the 3 day delay on Cartel Coin grants. Since August of last year an issue creeped into our granting system which caused Cartel Coins to be granted every 33 days, instead of every 30 days as intended. As you pointed out, if this issue went on for a long period of time, your monthly grant could be affected and so we definitely did not want that to happen. As of right now the only effect is that your grant may be delayed. With that in mind, we have a fix for this issue planned with next week’s maintenance. After next week your grants should continue forward, 30…
Lost legendary player status in SWTOR
Eric Musco have posted some clarification on official forums regarding the lost legendary player status, that apparently have a bug. Lost legendary player status | 03.11.2016, 03:25 PM Hey folks, We have seen quite a few reports of players who have lost their Legendary Status following Game Update 4.2 on Tuesday. First, a reminder of what Legendary Status is. This system was put in with Knights of the Fallen Empire as a reward for players who had completed all 8 Class Stories all the way through Act 3. We wanted to make sure that their efforts were rewarded, beyond just Achievements alone. Along with the KotFE launch, we also introduced Start at 60 tokens. Unfortunately, there was a bug where sometimes a character made from a token would grant a completion for Legendary Status. This was not intended as that character never played through and completed Act 3. With Game Update…
KOTFE Level 60 character creation is bugged
it’s no secret that many players have experienced problems, when trying to create a level 60 character. Players have been reporting this on the forums for some days now, and Eric Musco took the forums explaining what the developers are doing about it. Check it out: KOTFE Level 60 character creation is bugged | 11.04.2015, 03:44 PM Hey folks, We wanted to get some information out about the issue you are experiencing. First off, there is a bug that can occur when you make a level 60 character, it instead creates it as a level 1 and places you on the fleet. Without going too technical, basically the game is moving faster than your account is, which is creating the issue. Here are a few important notes to be aware of: Go slow – When going through the character creation process take your time, watch the Sacrifice trailer that starts…
SWTOR Season 5 Gold Tier Reward Granted
All Players who reached Season 5 Gold Tier in Star Wars; The old Republic, will get another Nexu mount as compensation. Season 5 Gold Tier Reward Granted | 08.18.2015, 04:32 PM Hey folks! As we mentioned before, with Patch 3.3.1 the plan was to issue each Season 5 Gold tier PvPer a new reward which would be exclusive to only them and would be a bit of a make-good for the issues that occurred in granting the reward previously. We wanted to make sure to give you something which is comparable to your previous Gold tier reward but still something special. So when maintenance is over today Season 5 Gold Tier characters should have a different and new Nexu mount in their mailbox. This Nexu shares the same model as the Gold tier mount but with a new, traditional colorization pattern. If you were a Gold tier participant in Season…
SWTOR: Update on Win Trading from Season 5
Eric Musco took on the forums to tell players about the actions BioWare have taken against win trading in the past PvP season. Check it out: Update on Win Trading from Season 5 | 07.23.2015, 06:07 PM Hey folks, With Season 5 recently ending, I thought I would give an update on what we have been doing to curb players who continue to win-trade. To recap from before, players who were caught win-trading were receiving actions ranging from a warning, up to having their character’s rating reset. Specifically, the character who we caught doing the win-trading itself. Depending on the character’s history, this can also include suspension time as well. Over the course of the last few Seasons, we have seen an overall decline in win-trading action, and we hope that you have seen that as well. However, in a handful of cases, there are players who continue to win-trade…
SWTOR Taking Down a Credit Selling Ring
In a joint operation across the world, Police BioWare investigators have tracked down hundreds of accounts and confiscated their total assets of more 9 billion credits. All accounts are now in jail, and awaiting the death penalty. Good work boys! Here is the official news from Eric Musco: Taking Down a Credit Selling Ring | 05.06.2015, 06:12 PM Hey folks, Over the past few months there have been many issues with Credit sellers and Advertisers. As you have noticed lately, we’re communicating more about what’s going on behind the scenes, so this is another area where we plan to keep you informed. Last week, we took action against an entire selling ring. Over multiple weeks, we investigated and compiled evidence about a large Credit selling ring which spanned across hundreds of accounts and a variety of servers. To help thwart any possible reactions from this group, we simultaneously actioned every account…
SWTOR Details on Grand Nightlife Pack
As some of you guys might already know, the newest cartel pack is quite pricey. Eric Musco went on the forums to explain why this is: Details of the Grand Nightlife Pack | 04.30.2015, 10:34 AM Hey folks! We have seen some confusion around the Grand Nightlife Pack, what it is, and why it costs a bit more than you normally see on a Cartel Pack. Admittedly, we could have been a little bit more clear in the store tooltips and we will make sure that is better in the future. So, what is in the Grand Nightlife Pack? This pack is basically all of the best items from The Star Cluster and Club Vertica Nightlife Packs all in one place. Here is a basic idea of the items you will find in the pack: Complete armor sets (ex: Tulak Hord Disciple’s Armor) Note: All armor sets pieces are contained…
BioWare is taken action against players exploiting Ziost Bug
SWTOR Game update 3.2 came with an unfortunate bug yesterday, letting players have access to the Ziost operation boss via what apparently is an exploit. I must admid that this surprised me, as I have been using the “exploit” my self. I personally thought it was just another new secret area. The whole point of hunting for datacrons, especially Makeb, is to train us to be good at accessing areas that are not genearally easily accessed – but apparently I was wrong. Here is the news from Eric: So Bioware, about people bypassing the locked part on Ziost to fight the OP Boss etc. | 04.29.2015, 03:15 PM One of the things we tried to be clear about with the Ravagers is that we are serious about handling exploits. With that exploit, the Ravagers we were open about our process and the action we were taking. For this issue with Ziost, we are going to…
New Dev Post – 3.2 PTS Feedback Communiqué
System Designer John Jarynowski took on the forums to address some of the Patch 3.2 feedback regarding class balance. Fine members of the galactic community, Just wanted to pop up and thank you all for the continued feedback. We are testing many of your ideas presently. Even if some of these changes do not come around in this patch cycle, we are archiving community perspectives/ideas for future updates. To help curb some continued points of contention that I’ve seen, I’d like to address two particular areas: 1) Many of you are concerned about melee viability against bosses in various Flashpoints and Operations. We have all heard your cries, and I know that our Encounter Designers are actively assessing improvement strategies. That aside, I want to clarify that we, the Combat Team, will not reconfigure an entire class or Discipline around a single boss encounter. While we continually work to improve…

Update on SWTOR Win-Trading and Griefing in Season 4
Yesterday Eric Musco addressed the PvP forums, and updated players on Bioware’s action towards win-traders and trolls in ranked PvP. Check it out below: Update on Win-Trading and Griefing in Season 4 | 03.10.2015, 06:45 PM Hey folks, As promised, we want to keep you informed on what we are doing about those win-traders and trolls in Ranked PvP. Here is what is happening right now: Win-traders – We have been reviewing multiple sets of data, along with the private reports that many of you have been sending to the team. Any player who, through validating data, is win-trading is receiving will be receiving at a minimum, a warning. Not only are we warning these users to stop what they are doing, continued win-trading will lead to greater actions including resetting their ratings and suspension time. Griefer – Those players that seem to have that one singular purpose, to ruin…
SWTOR Operation Speed Run Challenge
A player known on the forums as Death_By_Smiley has decided to do the speed run challenge for himself, since the official tournament was cancelled. If you’d like to participate, the rules and guidelines are listed for you and it’s open to anyone. Goal: Be the fastest guild to clear operations! Sounds fun, right? Well, it depends on whether or not you have a guild that can pull this off and if you like this sort of thing but there are many players and guilds who like a little side competition and this could be just the right project to keep you and your members entertained in the game. Here are some details. Learn more and ask your questions here. Session #1: Current Operation: The Ravagers (from March 3, 2015-March 17, 2015) Special notes: To ensure the Coratannni bug does not occur, if you have one person leave the instance after Master/Blaster, it…
Courtney Woods Leaves the SWTOR Community team
Courtney Woods Leaves the SWTOR Community team to become a writer for BioWare. It’s unclear what game she will be writing on, but it is a big step up for Courtney Woods. This isn’t goodbye… 02.13.2015, 11:56 AM Almost four(!) years ago, I joined the SWTOR Community team. It’s been an amazing ride and I’ve learned so much not only from my teammates (yes, even Musco ), but all of you. Your constant enthusiasm and passion for SWTOR has been a daily motivator for me. From Cantinas to livestreams, I’ve enjoyed meeting some of you and chatting about everything from string cheese to our favorite companions. I would only give up these daily interactions with all of you for a truly great opportunity. I am happy to announce that I have been offered my dream job of becoming a writer at BioWare. This has been my career goal ever since I first…
SWTOR Apprentice’s Shadow Pack Rarities
Eric Musco updated the forum community about the upcoming Apprentice’s Shadow Pack rarities, that comes with tomorrows game update. Some of them are not labeled correctly. Apprentice’s Shadow Pack Rarities | 02.11.2015, 09:14 PM Hey folks, For those of you looking forward to the Apprentice’s Shadow Pack coming out tomorrow, I want to let you know of a discrepancy you will find in the rarities listed in Collections. First, the most important thing, all drop rates that are in the pack are working as intended. You will be receiving the items at the intended rarities. The only thing that is not correct currently is what the rarity is listed as in Collections in both the text and/or the rarity icons. Here is a full list of the items, what is listed, and the correct rarity. Items showing as Super Rare, but are only Rare Emote: Sinister All Pink Red Color…
SWTOR Win Trading in PvP Season 4 and Beyond
Eric Musco too on the forum today, enlightening the community what BioWare have in mind to to counter Win Trading in PvP Season 4 and Beyond: Win-Trading In Season 4 and Beyond | 02.03.2015, 08:07 PM Hey folks, Season 4 for PvP is about to start and we wanted everyone to understand the Rules of Engagement and how we plan to keep it fair and fun for everyone who participates in Ranked Warzones: In The Past Throughout the Season we would track data around games being played by each character. At the end of the Season we compare data to look for possible win-traders. Anyone whom we are 100% sure has win-traded received action against their account. The action we took was to completely reset their rating to zero. This would mean they would receive no end of season rewards and would have no credit for taking part in that season. What…
SWTOR: The Contraband Slot Machine issues
Eric posted an update on the official forums regarding The Contraband Slot Machine. Apparently there is no bugs with this item, but how it would effect the economy on some servers took BioWare by surprise. Check it out below: The Contraband Slot Machine | 01.16.2015, 09:41 AM Hey folks, We know that there have been many questions about the Contraband Slot Machine and its intent. Here are a few notes on it: The Contraband Slot Machine is not bugged. It is 100% not an exploit to use the Slot Machine. If you feel the desire to sell access to your Stronghold, that’s totally up to you. As a reminder, do not scam people as that is against ToS. We added the Slot Machine as a fun idea based on the positive feedback from the Nightlife event, so spend those credits to your heart’s content! With that being said, we do…

SWTOR: Ability Delay Update
Eric Musco took on the forums to speak about the ability delay issue, that many players are facing after game update 3.0. Check it out: EricMusco 01.02.2015, 08:35 PM Ability delay and the wearing thin of patience | 01.02.2015, 02:35 PM First off, Happy New Years everyone! I apologize if you feel a lack of communication around this issue. Unfortunately, I haven’t provided much since I do not have a status update as of yet. Here is what I can tell you. We definitely have not forgotten about this and the team is still assessing what the cause is, and how we can begin to address it. What I am going to do is to work with the team to get a status update with as much detail as I can, by next Friday (although hopefully before then!). Thank you again for your continued patience. We know that dealing with…

Goals for Addressing Server Concerns
Eric took the forum earlier to share some insights on BioWares plans to address server concerns for next year. You can read the full post here, or below: Hey folks, At our fan event in Las Vegas, one of the things we stated is that we are working to address the concerns of things like queue times and uneven server populations and that we would provide an update before the end of the year. As you might expect we’re not ready to tell you exactly what we are working on yet, but we did want to go into what our goals are for next year. To address issues of queue times across all types of content, both PvP and PvE. To rethink how we approach “server separation.” Remain sensitive to things like character identity. The continued ability to define your chosen server playstyle, PvE, PvP, RP, RP-PvP. We also would…
