KOTOR is still today one of the most popular Star Wars games ever made and the irony of it is that when it was first announced, many people questioned the fact that Star Wars would make an RPG and that it would be any good. Imagine the surprise once fans got to check out this amazing game?
Community Cantina Tour – Atlanta, GA – New Mini Pet
BioWare is changing the Cantina Tour give out pet. Starting from the next event in Atlanta, participants will no longer be given the Taunfawn mini pet, but instead a new M8-3R Astromech! Pretty cool eh? The Star Wars: The Old Republic Community Cantina Tour Arrives in Atlanta, GA! | 02.26.2014, 01:25 PM Hey folks! I wanted to announce something I am pretty excited about for our Atlanta event… a new community mini-pet! That’s right, we feel the Taunfawn may have run its course and it is time for a new pet. Our new mini-pet is the M8-3R Astromech! He is a sleek yellow and silver, in honor of our forum colors. Atlanta will be the first event where we are giving away the M8-3R instead of the Taunfawn, and we will continue to give away the droid from that event forward for the rest of the year. If you don’t have…
Commando / Mercenary Changes Coming in 2.7
Eric Musco have been updating the community on the official forums, about the changes that are coming to Commando’s and Mercenary in game update 2.7. And I have to say this is great changes. Evening out the Full auto ticks was something I’ve wanted for so long too! I never understood how you open up with full auto and have shot probably 15 bolts at the target already and no damage has registered! If I had it my way (and I know this isn’t Burger King), I would have it do damage every .5 seconds so that even if you get interrupted in any way, you get as much damage possible on the target up to the moment you get interrupted. Hopefully this brings us up to par with the new shiny assault spec. Check out the full announcement below: Commando EricMusco Commando Changes Coming in 2.7 | 02.26.2014, 10:03 AM…
Update on Referral Links
Referral Link spamming have been quite an issue the last few month. People were disguising referral links to get Cartel coins. I have seen people posting their referral link but make it appear like it was a link to something else, like a SWTOR guide or whatever. People would click on the link thinking they were going somewhere other than becoming that person’s referral. Pretty annoying stuff, but with today’s server maintenance, they made some changes. Now, when you click on someone’s referral link, it will prompt you with a confirmation dialog before accepting the referral. This was implemented to help stop any potential “griefing” that could occur from folks spamming their referral links. Below is the official announcement from Eric Musco EricMusco Update on Referral Links on the Forums | 02.25.2014, 10:06 AM Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that as a part of today’s maintenance, we made…

Even before the Star Wars: The old Republic was live, DarthHater was on the air talking about the game. In time, other early podcasts started up like TorWars, TOROCast, and Corellian Run Radio. Ranked PvP Rating Requires Minimum 10 Matches to Count for Rewards
Following the last few days debate regarding end Season 1 Rewards, Eric Musco updated the community about am issue with the game. Currently, it is possible that your name can show up on the leaderboards with a rating, even if you have technically not yet earned one. Below is the announcement: Announcing End Season 1 Rewards | 02.20.2014, 11:44 AM Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know of an issue I just learned of. Currently, it is possible that your name can show up on the leaderboards with a rating, even if you have technically not yet earned one. The rules that determine you having a rating are fairly simple but I want to make sure I spell them out so that we don’t have a situation where someone is expecting a reward and does not receive one. In order to earn a rating, you must: Have played 10 games…
STAR WARS 80’s High School
What if the Star Wars cast were dropped in an 80s teen movie? Well, it might look something like this cool concept art from Denis Medri of Cesena, Italy. His project, posted to Behance.net, asks “What if Star Wars were set in an 80s high school?” The result is much like you would imagine, only even more awesome. We know that some hardcore fans don’t like any deviation from the original story and we can respect that fully but you still have to think the creative and artistic ability that went into this is pretty amazing. We have a too-cool skate Luke and a bubble-blowing tights-wearing Leia to start us off. And then we have Han Solo & Chewbacca And then we have some awesome nerd-droids: There’s also Vader,Boba Fett & Troopers: And a personal favorite of mine is Breakfast Wars: And there’s more so check out the link for…

The end of Season 1 will come with Game Update 2.7 and your rating when the servers come down for the update will determine which Tier you are in and what rewards you gain. None of that “limited-use finisher and a dolyak pet” crap you get in GuildWars2, but really awesome stuff Well played BioWare! Bellow is the official annuncement from BioWare and forum update by Eric Musco. Check it out: Announcing End Season 1 Rewards 02.19.2014 Greetings PvPers! Firstly, the end of Season 1 will come with Game Update 2.7 and your rating when the servers come down for the update will determine…
Bolstered Mods vs. Obroan
Tait Watson have been active on the official forums regarding Bolstered mods. Bolster was designed to replace Recruit gear because lets face it… Recruit gear sucked. It sucked for the people wearing it and it sucked for the people on their team because they were essentially a free kill. The best fix for Bolster imo is to remove it completely from 55 Warzones. Bam, PvP gear instantly is BiS. But what about the fresh 55? Right now Obroan (67) is the top tier of PvP gear, and Conqueror (65) is second. Add a third tier by bringing back Partisan (63), and have it cost 1 credit. Let people min/max Partisan as the “introductory” gear. Full min/max Partisan with augments will put you around 28k hp. Full min/max Conqueror will put you around 30k hp. Full min/max Obroan with augments will put you around 31.5k. Genuine gear progression without being as…

Star Wars Retro games: Yoda Stories
They don’t make games like these anymore. It isn’t overly complicated or terribly pretty by today’s standards, but that’s the source of it’s charm. It is exactly now what it was then: a desktop game, a way to fill an hour or so between work projects or homework. The adventures are randomly generated, the dialogue is humorous, and the game itself brings an innocence and nostalgia back to a period that has otherwise largely lost it. For a Star Wars game, it captures the feel of the movies in a way that many modern games with the same license don’t. Why? Because the material, too, evokes a more innocent time, back before special editions or blu ray edits. It’s Star Wars as it used to be, as so many of us grew up with. As part of Lucasarts’ Desktop Adventure Series, players take control of Jedi-in-training Luke Skywalker, as he…
SWTOR Galactic Starfighter Ships Companion Guide
Companions play an important role in Star Wars: The Old Republic and they do make the game more enjoyable. This guide focuses on the default companions assigned specifically to fill the crew positions for the Galactic Starfighter ships. Each faction will start out with a set of four default companions that are exclusive to the ships but you’re not limited to only using these. The assigned positions for the default companions and their names are below: Don’t forget to check out constantly growing list of guides for Star Wars: The old republic Empire Offense- MZ-12 Tactical- Salana Rok Engineering- Aven Geth Defense- Writch Hurley Republic Offense- B-3G9 Tactical- Kendra Novar Engineering- Ashy Defense- Oro Wogawa After choosing your starfighter ship, you’ll pick out your crew. Will the Competition Be Held off By SWTOR’s 2014 Roadmap?
The plan for the future of 2014 is out. So how will this affect the competition in the MMORPG market? If you ask around the SWTOR community, you will find that people are very split on how they feel about these changes and upcoming plans. Some players are really happy about it while others have their own ideas of how certain aspects of gameplay and other details should go. The diversity is one thing that makes the gaming community so unique and broad and we do know from experience that BioWare listens to what the players have to say about certain things like this. But when we look outside of the community, how can we expect these changes to affect the competition that SWTOR has now and in the future? Elite Monster has done a write-up on this that pretty much echoes my thoughts on the matter. The first point…

The Annals of Star Wars: Pre-Republic Era
13,000,000,000 BBY: The Big Bang, the galaxy is formed. According to most sources, the galaxy was 120,000 light years across, and had a supermassive black hole at its core. The galaxy was orbited by 7 satellite galaxies (Aurek, Besh, Cresh, Dorn, Esk, Forn, and Grek), most being described as having ancient, metal-rich remnants of stars but little life. A hyperspace disturbance on the perimeter of the galaxy prevented hyperspace travel into extra-galatic space. 5,000,000,000 – 2,000,000 BBY: Life emerges In this period of time, over 180 billion stars had formed planets that could support life. 10% eventually developed life, while intelligent life formed on 1/1,000 of these worlds. It was estimated that only 1 billion systems were eventually populated. These populations consisted of a wide array of creatures such as the Gorothites, Chevin, pre-arboreal Wookiees and many many others. 2,000,000 BBY: The Oracle is built on the world of Pelgrin…
George Lucas Wanted Boba Fett to Lead Star Wars 1313
I Think most people agree with me that Star Wars 1313 could have been an awesome game. Everything about it just looked so cool. But unfortunately we all know the game will never happened. Mainly due to poor management by Lucasarts. Today we learned some more about what happened behind the scenes. Just a few weeks before Star Wars 1313 was official announced, George Lucas himself told the developers he wanted the game to be about Boba Fett and not the protagonist we saw at E3. This of course created some what of a dilemma, as there were no Boba Fess assets ready before the public got a first glimpse of the game. Check out this great write-up over at Game Informer the downfall of “Star Wars 1313″ and LucasArts, headlined “Fall Of The Empire: How Inner Turmoil Brought Down LucasArts.” Here’s an excerpt about Boba Fett in particular being…
