So far, with the Jedi Guardian we’ve only covered the very basics, including leveling, builds, rotations, and tactics. Now it’s time for itemization. Note that for the current build, 1.1.x, end game itemization is greatly limited by the amount of gear available from the tier system. There is only one tank set for Tionese, Columi, and Rakata gear, as well as Centurian, Champion, and Battlemaster gear. Though you may not be able to itemize as you choose now, familiarity with the system and how you can manipulate it will help you for later builds, such as the upcoming 1.2 patch. The only stat I will not cover in this article is armor, which is a stat that you have virtually no control over. We will start with the most basic stats. Patch 1.2 (coming in March/April) will be huge! This is the largest free game update likely in MMO history. This is the kind of stuff you’d see in a paid expansion from Blizzard. The talk is that this was originally how the game was supposed to be launched but that BioWare was pressured by EA to get the game out by a certain release date. One of the most exciting portions of the guild summit for many players was the talk of PvP.   Here is an overview of the discussion as well as the follow-up Q&A. Player vs. Player Discussion medal system- not balanced across classes right now. No specific queues for warzones Novare Coast: majority control objective – 3 point objective. You need least 2 out of 3 to do damage to fortification. Character warzone ratings for both solo and group player New warzone dailies – based on medal system as opposed to wins. We didn’t finish all the medals – we are introducing a lot more medals for objectives, catching a ball, scoring in huttball, be the first to plant a bomb 18 new medals “We want to discourage medal farming” – medal rewards are capped. Today I’m going to cover some of the finer details of end game Guardian tanks, namely rotations and tactics. Later on I will also cover stat priorities and itemization. Ability Priorities and Rotations: The first thing you should know about any class in Star Wars: The Old Republic is that there is no set rotation for abilities like there are in other MMOs. Abilities instead have priorities which determine which available ability should be used first. You should also know that all priorities are situational. Hilt Strike might seem like a high priority ability having a stun and lots of threat, but against multiple targets, it’s not as effect as say, Force Sweep. While many gamers are completely satisfied, there are others who feel let down by the game and EA has been facing some problems lately in terms of broker concerns. But is it really as bad as it sounds? A Technorati blogger thinks SWTOR is sinking fast and has this to say about the sinking ship: And there is quite a bit of solid evidence that people are abandoning ship. This is intended to make it easier for players to communicate with others from their specific server. It could be an easier way to get the information that you need more quickly. Hoth was the sixth planet of the remote Hoth system. A desolate world covered with ice and snow, located in the Anoat sector, a rarely-traveled portion of the Outer Rim Territories, it became famous as the one-time location of the Alliance to Restore the Republic’s Echo Base during the Galactic Civil War. It was discovered in 3 ABY by the Empire, causing the Battle of Hoth, a major engagement that destroyed the Rebels’ base and gave them heavy casualties. Hoth’s existence was known throughout the galaxy as early as 4,000 BBY. The swamp wampas of Dromund Kaas were proven by scientists to be descended from the wampas of Hoth. It is possible that wampas were brought to Dromund Kaas during the Great Galactic War though the truth remains a mystery. Alderaan was a Core Founder of the Galactic Republic in 25,053 BBY and one of the anchor-points for early hyperspace exploration. Alderaan was headquarters of Alderaan Royal Engineers, an early Republic shipwright. Alderaanian colonists settled Nim Drovis. During the Mandalorian Wars, the planet was threatened with invasion by the forces of Cassus Fett, but the entire invasion force was prematurely decimated, due to misuse of an ancient Sith artifact. Tatooine (pronounced tætu’in) was a desert world in a binary star system in the Arkanis sector of the Outer Rim Territories. It was inhabited by poor locals who mostly farmed moisture for a living. Other activities included used equipment retailing and scrap dealing. The planet was on the 5709-DC Shipping Lane, a spur of the Triellus Trade Route, which itself connected to the Sisar Run. The planet was not far from the Corellian Run. It had its own navigation system. However, it would still play a role in galactic events, serving as the home of Anakin Skywalker. It was here that Jedi Master Qui-Gon Jinn recognized Anakin’s potential to become a Jediand where he introduced him to Obi-Wan Kenobi, his future master and mentor. It was the planet where the Jedi Orderoriginated, in the form of the first society of Force users in known history, sometime between 36,453 BBY and 25,990 BBY. Tython was cleansed of terentateks by the Great Hunt in 3,994 BBY. In the aftermath of the Great Galactic War, the Jedi Order relocated to Tython following the Sacking of Coruscant in 3,653 BBY. There, they attempted to rebuild their order, despite trouble with a local Twi’lek pilgrim colony and a mysterious influence emanating from the world itself. Nal Hutta (Glorious Jewel in Huttese) was the capital of Hutt Space and was located in the Y’Toub system. It was formerly known as Evocar and was the original home world of the Evocii, who were ousted by the Hutts in 15,000 BBY, who migrated from their original home world of Varl along with their servants the t’landa Til. It was sometimes referred to simply as Hutta at around 4000-3000 BBY. The planet was controlled by the ancient ruling Hutt families, who also ruled its moon Nar Shaddaa from Nal Hutta. This is kind of a historic update, as it is the last update before early access begins. The great hunt: SD-01 Strategy

Welcome to “the great hunt”. Our new column here at SWTOR strategies, were we will talk strategies for each world boss in the game. My name is Zexu and I’ll be running through how to defeat every world boss on the Galactic republic worlds. Today we’ll be going over SD-01, a large droid found on Corusant. This footage was taken during the November 25th weekend beta test, so SD-01’s abilities may have changed. This encounter was completed with ten players at levels 16 through 20. We used two tanks (Jedi Shadow and Jedi Guardian), three healers(Scoundrel, Sage and Commando) and five DPS. Let’s go over his abilities. SD-01 has two abilities.
